You should always avoid using any IOT devices that make use of cloud infrastructure!! ALWAYS choose local only devices and systems for your smart home.
Can you make you own cloud in your home instead of using theirs?
@@josephisherwood1723 usually no. There are some devices that you can setup your own local "cloud" server to bypass their cloud requirement, but it's rare.

@@Walter_Berg home assistant is local. It has some cloud features but you don't have to use them.

So MQ-7 Gas Sensor is more suitable in that particular case
Well put. And that would apply for anything that burns carbon based fuels (gas, gasoline, propane etc). Would make sure they have enough fresh air for combustion.
