ℹ️ About the episode:
In this episode, we left the Teton National Park and Jackson, WY to make our way to a Harvest Hosts location (Kraay's Market) via the Teton Pass. The last time we drove the Teton Pass, we were driving a Ford F150 pulling a Travel Trailer about the same weight as our Flying Cloud Airstream. There was a night and day difference between towing a travel trailer over the pass in a gas truck vs diesel. This time around, the cars were slowing us down! But the biggest difference was going downhill with the engine exhaust brake holding the Super Duty back. Once we made it to Sun Valley (Ketchum, ID really) we enjoyed the hiking and great food, but it was pretty chill overall as we just hung out and catch-up on projects.

Love how you showed your interaction with a harvest host, i was always curious what the conversation is like!
Hooray for the shout of to plant based diets! I went plant based 4 years ago, and dropped my already pretty good LDL from 95 to 62. Highly recommend it to anyone. Thanks for the continuing fun content. Love traveling along with you guys.
Great job!
We have stayed with this Harvest Host. They are lovely people. We enjoyed a great salad from their gardens.
The convo between them during backing down that driveway is the same convo my wife and I would have had. So hilarious!
Love the engine brake! Has paid for itself many times over. Really like how you are putting the hiking/camping app info off on the side.
Oh fun. Great video. The end of course came to soon, but thoroughly enjoyed it. You guys remind me so much of me and my hubby. He's gone now but I still remember. After all the years, we still had date night. It's one of the good things that makes a good marriage great.
Thank you for all of the Beautiful nature scenes 🌲 🏔 🌲 🌲 and what a Gorgeous Golden Retriever y’all have 😀 (I grew up showing them, Wonderful family dogs 👍 LOTS to be thankful for, what a Blessing 🙏
Stay Safe out there and keep enjoying the beauty in this life 🤗
When I look at Charlie, I see Maddie. Charlie is bringing you just a much joy as Maddie did. I am so glad that you opened your hearts to another fur baby. What a wonderful life you are sharing with him, and I can see in his eyes how much he loves all of you. Charlie looks so happy and healthy. What a wonderful marriage you have made with him. Maddie is smiling down on you...XXXOOO
Loved this episode! Living through your travels is really helping get through this weird summer! Have a great week.
While rving at West Yellowstone a few weeks ago, we took a day trip through the park down to the Tetons. Returned to the campground via the Teton Pass and Idaho. Being from Ohio, steep grades and sheer dropoffs are not something we're used to driving. 😥 My wife kept saying the entire drive up and over the pass, "So glad we're not towing the camper!!!" Lol. Loving this season guys!!! We're on a two month out west trip currently. Looks like we have been at some of the same campgrounds and Harvest Hosts (Alpaca Farm, West Glacier, etc...). Currently traveling down the 101 in Oregon due to your recommendations from season 3. This coast is beautiful! Safe travels to you!!! 😊
Can't wait for Sunday's and your blog. Love you guys, it's so uplifting to share your adventures with us. Have fun, be safe during these crazy times.
As usual, the fastest and most enjoyable 25 minutes of my week! Thanks for your hard work! Happy Independence day!
I love these videos, there's always something new happening always, love yall 3000!
Last year we went over the teton pass in the rain on our Harley roadking pulling a kwick kamp tent trailer ,my wife asked why we were going so slow. After we got to the bottom of the pass I told her I had to use the engine to keep it slow because if we went any faster and used the brakes before the corners the tires would start sliding. Loved the show@
Some day we want to run that pass. Liked the asparagus info. Some folks secure doors and drawers with off-shore marine style locks, straps or bungee cords. Accordian doors - consider upgrade to bi-fold or pocket. There is a ty-wrap hinge fix too. Fantastic backing job - Well done!
Thanks Marc and Trish. I remember pulling my 4 ton Imagine up and over that pass out of Jackson hole in July 2018. That decent was something!
Love being reminded how food is the best ‘medicine’. ABSOLUTELY! Great job as usual guys.
Nice music bed choice for the “This Old RV” segment 😉
That's the home depot background - hope they don't mind. I got stuck on hold with their customer service for about a half hour recently, and I started imagining a whole score of music around that pulsating rhythm
I caught that too. I didn't LOL... but I snorted. :-) 15:24 if you're curious.
Wonder what HD is thinking about appearing in a KYD video? Lol
OMG thank you! I couldn't figure out the sound but I knew I knew it! lol
I was going to post the timestamp too! LOL
I must say from your first travel video too present, you have become a professional travel video vlogger.
It just keeps getting better and better.
Thank you for your efforts, it's very helpful for the rest of us.
Keep the rubber on the road.
Safe travels and God bless.
We always found that solid doors where better as well, especially if one is starting to feel amorous, and the kids are in the same rig! Back in the day, our trailer had a full sized bedroom up front, and two bunk beds in the back, and it worked out quite well. Now that we're older, it will always be something with 'slides' as having the room is worth the additional weight (for us) and our current 36' diesel pusher has four slides, and there's enough room for eight to have a dance if we so desired, and no more bumping in to one another.....and, we now deserve it now that we're retired, and now it's the grandkids coming along. Great video Marc, and I really enjoyed the 'truck operation' on the hills, as it makes the whole trip more comfortable knowing hill are not a problem, going up or going down! Now....I've got to find out what my cholesterol count is, and perhaps eating even more fruits and veggies! Thanks Trish, on keeping us abreast on eating quality meals! We all learn SO much from your video's, so please keep on keeping on! Stay safe!
👍👍 to the whole food plant-based man!!
We have never had a bad experience with a Harvest Host. A smile on your face will bring a smile on their experience. SMILE, Dame it!
Between "This accordion piece of tissue paper," and Charlie's hiking sticks, I've had a good laugh that's brought some fun to a wet, wintry afternoon. Thank you and keep on trucking happily.
Awesome as always! Thank you, Leach family! ♡
Love the music in the This Old RV segment. Nice touch!
My last post, I;m at the end. I love it, taking time out for each other. Had my wife and I RV’d when the kids were young we wouldn’t have been half as smart as you guys - very proud of you.
Very nice episode. That was a nice farm to be able to camp at! Thanks for showing us around.
Trish has a look of all business (4:43). "Don't even think about getting in my way." LOL
Okay... I love this. I particularly appreciate the "Home Depot" commercial music while you both are repairing the door. Very nice touch.
Just love your vlogs thank you so much for keeping them family friendly.
Happy Sunday! We look forward all week to the new episode. You guys are awesome!
Ahhhh, this just sends me in the mood. "Fair winds and following seas".
Enjoying the causal format guys! Casual hair, relaxed conversations and unscripted family time. Very relatable! 😁
My husband and I absolutely love your channel! He found you and said, he wanted me to watch a video and now we’re both hooked! We were in Colorado with our kids around the same time you were. We drove from Florida. But we don’t have an rv. (Yet!) 😉. You have both of us wanting to get one!
I love how you put all the information of the campground on the side, I love all your content. I'm catching up hahaha I am watching from the UK. Me and my partner are wanting to do this after I leave university, I literally have pads of paper with notes of everything thankyou.
Always cool to see you guys driving on roads that I have worked on. I live in Utah and have been doing road construction for like 9 years so as soon as you guys get anywhere this way it covers a good few of them.
Have to say thank you for introducing me to All trails some weeks weeks back. During my current contract in Lubbock, Tx it made the visit amazing.
Learned my lesson on never fully being able to rely on google maps out in the middle of nowheresville Tennessee. We ended up on a switchback road that was "just wide enough" (still hitting brush on both sides of our then popup camper... lol Glad I didnt have to learn this while pulling our 27ft TT. :) Love the videos, keep up the quality vlogging! God Bless!
Exhaust brake, love it, I use mine all the time even when not towing. Really saves the brakes.
Happy 4th weekend Mark and Trish!... We hope you continue to have safe travels!
Thank you for the quick guides!! We seem to be on the same trail as you this summer , at least through Colorado, and sure appreciate the tips. 😊
Larry is an amazing guy, thanks for sharing his message.
I love the Home Depot theme music once the DIY started! You guys really know how to take anything and make it fun and positive! :)
Towed my 270RKS Outdoors RV to my new home state of Montana last summer with my 2001 2500 Dodge 4x4 diesel 6sp manual. Even with the manual transmission, I had to brake a lot going down grades but not so much as with an automatic. I added a Banks exhaust brake and muffler, OH MY GOD how nice it is. Soooo amazing and such peace if mind!
Just went over Teton Pass day before yesterday in our 3/4 ton diesel pulling our 32 footer! What a hoot!
Loved the hike Marc, and I wasn't panting at all, nor even put up a sweat, and enjoyed the view you showed us! Hope there are more to come!
This was a great video, like the backing up part and you all climbing the hill. thank you for sharing!
You are doing the trip we were going to go this Fall. So we are living this trip through you. Maybe next year. KYD ROCKS.
Sooo, we were a week behind ya'll in Ouray, Colorado and even talked my uncle and aunt into driving up. Now, we're all talking about driving up to Jackson Hole and Bozeman to see the sites and visit with friends who have a ranch in Jackson Hole! Love the trips you are taking this summer... some of the most beautiful scenery! Best Wishes to ya'll from Fredericksburg, Texas!
Thanks for another wonderful episode. I really enjoyed it.
I had a 1989 F-150 4x4 with a Ford 300 in-line six cylinder gasoline engine & automatic transmission. We towed our little Scamp 13’ all over America with that thing. It actually had very effective automatic engine braking, even in high gear. If it was a really steep grade, I could drop it down to second gear, and never have to touch the brakes.
I love me some Ford 4x4s.
The sequence at the farm was so interesting and enjoyable.
I have always been convinced that blood pressure and cholesterol are totally manageable by lifestyle choices.
So glad to have proof in the farm guy’s testimonial.
The closing shot with Charlie and the stream was adorable.
Onward
The last time I came down Teton Pass with my gas engine truck pulling a 35 foot travel trailer, I lost my brakes. I let tailgaters push me into going too fast. I was in low gear but it wasn't enough to stay off the brakes long enough for them to cool. I had to use my emergency brake to get stopped. I have a diesel now.
Love the work those Harvest Host people are doing for their community. Support your local growers ❤
I enjoy all your videos, but this one was really great. Very relaxing, Thank you guys
I love the information window added to the right of the screen! Great video as usual!!
Everytime I revisit your channel you have a new RV.. Beautiful scenery. Your camera is excellent too!
Love your videos! Thanks for always taking us along.
Just gotta love Charlie!
Just think! If all it took was a stick to make you happy, what a better place we'd all be in.
Liked the humour of the folding door, When we purchased our home there was one in the WC but strong spring loaded to which you had to make sure the catch worked when closed, the funny part was when my mother in law took to the loo she gave it a good slam & promptly sat down doing her thing when i heard a loud screem the door had broken at the spring side over the years it just let go Lol needless to say i saw my mother in law in a different light.I replaced the door with a normal one the next day.
I love this truck. I have the same truck in red with the ultimate lariat package. It absolutely is king of the hill pulling my RV!
Truly enjoyed the Jackson Hole and Teton vids I grew in that area and it is truly beautiful country.
Thank you for including the vegan segment 😊!
Beautiful place looks like the ford is doing a good job. Another awesome video as normal, always enjoy watching.
Here's a contractor tip, keep wooden golf Tees in a drawer, and instead of having to use dowels, you put some wood glue in the hole, tap the wood golf tee into the hole and then it's good to go for a screw to go back in. BTW, love your videos, I've been binging them for the last week and we have plans to RV very soon. I've tent camped a lot in the past but really ready to do some traveling across the country.
Love music, perfect way to chill and prepare for the hectic week. And once you go diesel you'll never go back!! Lol
You guys are awesome. You brighten my day! Thank you
Love the plant based market!!!! Wish they were near me in Texas. Plant based for 30 years, it is a game changer! Great video.
Great episode guys, you both look relaxed and in your groove.
Beautiful scenery. I really liked the farm you visited. Hearing about his cholesterol & how he grows & loves Asparagus. I didn't know how they grew. Have a nice week! Charlie must run on energizers.
We lived in our RV here for a year before we got an apartment! Jackson is the best place on earth.
I wish I had the separate engine brake button on my 2014 F-250. In my model year range, it is integrated when tow mode is enabled. Nevertheless, it works great when enabled!
Beautiful drive! Saw ya’ll at the campground we are work camping at for the summer in Montana...but didn’t want to bother you. Hopefully we had the facilities clean enough for ya! 😀
That was either GREAT backing up or even BETTER editing! Great job!
Ok this episode goes in MY top ten of KYD videos 😂
Thank you for our new phrase to Harvest Hosts, "We want to be able to participate." We're always struggling with how to arrive in time to help the hosts out. You guys rock!
Charlie is soooooo much like our former Golden. Brandy would always hunt for sticks no matter where we were. She had a tendency to get more like a branch than a stick and had to go through the trees with her head sideways in order to fit between them. It was hilarious! We always look forward to your videos. Safe travels and stay safe!
Charlie, Trish and the music. And stick and boys. Great mix
Love the Harvest Hosts owner's story ~ find something for you or something you love and make it work!
Amazing scenery! Glad I didn't have to back out the long lane. lol Love the host people, amazing how he got his numbers under control by eating healthy-well not amazing as we know giving up junk food is good, but still amazing. Charlie is so funny, I just love him to pieces! I about lost it when Trish said about Marc saying the "accordion piece of tissue paper is so amazing". lol I don't know anyone who loves accordion folding doors. lol Looking forward to next Sunday! Hugs, Brenda
The documentary that helped him was Forks Over Knives, but we didn't mention becuase we haven't seen it yet. Trust buy verify ;)
I have really enjoyed this video and the views are so spectacular. Thanks you so much.
What an awesome farm! Thank you for sharing.
Loving the quick guide 👏👏👏👏
What a Wonderful farm, and memory!!
We went over Teton Pass going through Jackson to Henry’s Lake State Park just outside West Yellowstone with a 15k fifth wheel. It was nuts! It was quite a ride up and down. I was a little naive to Teton Pass at the time as we were just following google maps. WOAH!
On the way back to Jackson to stay there a few nights we bypasses Teton Pass and followed the Pallisades Reservoir. It was beautiful.
Another good one there, Marc.
The diesel F250 doesn't seem to even notice the Airstream is back there??
That being said....
Have you considered doing a video (or at least a segment) on your tow-vehicle choices and performance stats.... VERSUS... what you're towing?
A breakdown on your thoughts of 'amount of truck' compared to the 'amount of trailer'....
F150 towing Ginger1
F250 (gas engine) towing Ginger1
F450 (diesel) towing 5th wheel
F250 (diesel) towing Airstream
[I think I have that correct]
That would be awesome!
We're looking for the same info!
If they do a review on their thoughts on trucks, would greatly help to also know the year of each truck, truck options, plus rv length and weight.
@@user-jy1md7vk1w Yea, good additions. Hopefully Marc discusses it!!
I laughed so hard with Trish over “this accordion piece of tissue paper...” hilarious!!!! I totally loathe accordion doors, that would’ve been replaced with a barn door immediately! Sorry Marc they are the polar opposite of amazing. 🤣🤣 Great video, thank you!
You are almost in my back yard! I live just south of the Wood River valley and there are so many areas in Southern Idaho that you should explore. Hopefully next year will be much better....
Beautiful video. Your bedroom “door” discussion was hilarious!😄 I think you need a nice pocket door for privacy. Happy travels!
we looked into it and still might, but all the electrical and TV need to be moved. It would be a big job. The 33 Classic might be easier :)
Deades ago when I was in the Air Force I was going thru the Grand Teton Mountains on the way to visit my brother who was in the Navy & living in Idaho Falls , Idaho . He was in training there for his Navy job in the Nuclear field . Going up those really steep hills . I turned off the A / C because I didn't want my ' 71 Plymouth Satellite to over heat on me so I opened all the windows as I was climbing those really steep hills & a lot of the roads didn't have guard rails back then . I had been stationed @ McConnell Air Force Base , Wichita , Kansas & I had gotten orders to be stationed at Zweibrucken Air Base , Zweibrucken , Germany .I didn't know when I would see my brother again . I had my mother & youngest sister with me . They flew in to Wichita the day before I left the base there . It was a great trip . I did all the drivingw/o any cruise control back then from Kansas to Idaho Falls , Idaho then drove from there all the way across the country to Mahopac, , New York (north of new york city ) where my 3 siblings & I grew up in a brand new house my parents had built in 1961 or "62 in a small lake community called Lake Baldwin for $17,500.00 including the property. It was a great town to grow up in .While visiting my brother he took us to Craters of The Moon . It was really neat there & eary at the same time . Did y'all go there to see it ?
Thank you for the link for the cabinet clips! Those stupid hinges popping-off on the Airstream drives my wife crazy! Life-saver!!!
We did the teton pass last summer in our f350 pulling our 39ft fifth wheel and it pulled it no problem it was awesome
New to your content after buying a 21ft jayco. Camped my whole life with my parents in thiers. Can say weve done a few campground repairs. keep up the good work.
Welcome!
Love the quick guides!
So great! We just tried our first Harvest Host and it’s amazing! Safe travels
Thanks for the clip link. Our doors are always falling off when we bump them in our Airstream. If your in the sawtooths this week hopefully we will bump into you, heading up there tomorrow. Love your show
Once again guys.....love it. Stay safe and keep on going!!!!
We have close friends with an Airstream and my wife and I are considering taking the plunge. I found your, "newbie" video entirely by accident and began watching your Newbie reboot or the second Newbie video you posted and stumbled across this recent posting - had I known you were here, I would have sought y'all out. The Pioneer cabin is a great hike and the cabin itself at this time of year typically has massive amounts of wild flowers in bloom. I haven't been there in years but know you always leave the cabin in better shape than you found it. There is usually canned foods and snacks in the pantry of the small cabin and other treats left behind by hikers before you. The cabin itself is unspectacular but the views are second to none. Did you and your family get a chance to stargaze while you were here? On clear nights, the stars are absolutely fantastic and this general area is a, Dark something or another - yes, apparently it is a thing. I really enjoy your videos - keep them coming and be safe on the road.
Best,
Justin (Sun Valley, ID)
The Home Depot theme song at 15:30 - perfect!
Absolutely... I saw (heard) what you did there........
We live in Boise. Been through Jackson and Teton Pass many times. A near disaster one time in our Class A gasser. Got rid of that and bought an F250 6.7L and 28 ft travel trailer. The F250 didn’t break a sweat.
We got to be full timers for a month (does that count?)! Called back in to office work and my teens needed friend time. Your videos give me a little sense of that awesome freedom back! Thank you!
As always we loved this episode!
