That's good also the price on Sri Lankan can be sometimes cheaper than some Indian and Middle Eastern Airlines like OmanAir and Saudia plus better service

@@ah.aviation Sri Lankan airlines used to be much better like in the late 1990s and early 2000s, until Emirates sold its share of the stake in the Airline. Since then most of UL's planes have been dated, with an antiquated product. Their new A330s are pretty decent though, with WIFI and a reasonably good IFE, not sure about the amount of content, but I guess its passable ;)
I really wish if the A350s have come along, so then we could have longer trips than Colombo to London. I would have like to seen Colombo-NYC.
Its sad that the Airline has hit on tough times, due to mismanagement. I would have liked to seen UL comparable to Singapore and Emirates.

Good point Faizan.... If it wasn’t for mismanagement, we certainly would have been up there with some of the best airlines in the region, capitalizing on the distinct advantage we have in the Indian Subcontinent . However the same goes to Mattala Airport as it too should be utilized as a key gateway point to Sri Lanka and I’m glad that it is being utilized somewhat effectively to a decent level during the past 12-18 months due to the pandemic and the need for an alternative airport. Fleet management is a another issue I would like to touch on along with domestic connectivity which must be looked into In order for UL to be successful
