Here's my feeble attempt to re-create the General Cinema Feature Presentation bumper from 1980-1986. First time using After Effects, so my flares aren't that great.
Very well done re creation. I fondly remember this old General Cinema Feature Presentation when I saw RETURN OF THE JEDI, RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK, GREMLINS, BACK TO THE FUTURE, MR. MOM, GHOSTBUSTERS, and SPIES LIKE US. General Cinema no longer exists today. American Multi Cinema (AMC Theatres) brought out any remaining General Cinema theatres in 2002 that were still open after the theater chain went through a major closing spree. My job with them ended when my theater, General Cinema Galleria 5 in Dallas, Texas closed October 19, 2000. I had been with General Cinema Theatres for 5 years.
Feeble? Better than I've ever managed to do. The only complaint I have is that the light beam doesn't fade out during the transition to the text. But everything else is spot on.
"Feeble," my ass. You did a great job with this re-creation. Not only do the projector reels spin around to the clickety-clack of the audio track, but you've also included the projection light beam (not sure if that's the proper term) for that added realistic touch. I honestly don't think a Disney-Pixar animator could have done any better. I don't much recall later General Cinema Corporation intro bumpers, only the one from the early-to-mid 1970s, which was a white-graphic-and-lettering-on-blue affair. And the shade of blue was cerulean, about like in your film. But I don't ever recall having seen a light beam. Was there an actual light beam in later GCC bumpers?
I love this!❤ thanks for sharing!

Loved seeing this before any movie!
Great job, can't tell you how many times I saw this growing up in the 80s
God bless general cinema
Quiet everyone return of the Jedi is about to start
General Cinema needs their own movie channel.
Good trailer
Looks like new

Leave the background on and show the rating the movie is about to play.

gymnastix thanks! I just went as close as I could to the original 1980-86 bumper.
You did a great job! Is there any chance you could make a GC 'Coming Attractions' for the same period of time? :)

It's not the real thing. 35mm version has to be lurking around somewhere
Actually, there is. czcams.com/video/KnNyi0rrZKM/video.html
