4K General Cinema Theater bumper. Early 1980's

- A re-created (as close as possible) to the General Cinema bumper from the early 1980's. Any bumper I could find was really low quality and I wanted one for my home theater. This is my best attempt to match the originals in 4K using very poor quality videos as reference. There is even a recreated CG trash-it can sequence. I wasn't able to find a good quality GCC theme at the end so if anyone has one message me.
I worked for them in the 80s. I knew whos hand that was in the trash can scene.
Fantastic recreation of the gcc policy and feature presentation snipit of the early 80s
This is exceptional work. Great job recreating these trailers!
Very, very nice. At first I thought it was the real thing. Some font issues and the lack of an arm tossing in trash did give it away (I understand the issues with getting a hand to toss into a CG bin). Excellent work overall!
Excellent! Hilarious! Brings back memories! Thank you!
Very nice work!
You could extend the last part by adding what the MPAA rating is for the feature presentation and add elements such as closed-captioning and stereo compatibilities like in most movie channels.
I've had this music (minus the sound effects, of course) in my head since the early 1980's, and can't find a decent recording, either.
Great stuff from the past.
Great work reproducing a marker of so many people's childhoods. I would only add you should have used Eurostile or Microgramma in the logo font at the end, but then I'm a type nerd. :-) I don't even want to think about how much time and work this must have taken, especially using poor-quality images for reference. Your skills are obviously of a very high level. Thank you!
Great job!
This is pretty good well done 👏😀
Ah, memories.
If you make a version 2.0, you should either add trash going into the bin or stay on the bin just a little bit longer. Also, don't cut the music at the incorrect time. Basically, you need to wait until the 56 second mark of the song and then cut to the 2 minute and 20 second mark or there about. Also, after the $5.00 and $10.00 Entertainment Gift Books are changed to Are Now Available and At This Box Office, the G and the top C shine like the American Lung Association logo. But this is a good start.
Today, the $5.00 and $10.00 gift books would be $50.00 and $100.00 if GCC was still alive.
Craig Palmer!
Looks like you beat me to the punch. It's okay, because my VFX skills are still a bit lacking.
There is a font issue here, The original General Cinema 1980 Feature Presentation trailer uses Eurostile Extended Bold as the font.
Could've also added another graphic to show the 'audience' what rating the movie is along with other details. Like in cable channels like HBO.
Not bad
So I have the link to what I believe is the highest quality version of the GCC theme at the end. It's from an unlisted video but thankfully I have the link. czcams.com/video/KnNyi0rrZKM/video.html
Thanks again. I will add this as well. Would love to know the exact fonts used in the spot. Any ideas?
@@natenorbie You don't need to. There is a true high quality version of this trailer at czcams.com/video/daKU7mqnrKo/video.html
Of course if you want to still make a recreation then that's fine.
@@MrT8599 Nice! Its different than the version I created but good reference. Thanks!
@@natenorbie I would possibly suggest just using the live action thing with the trash if you ask me. This way you don't have to worry about animating that part. ;-)
Remember you can use czcams.com/video/7y1QSOySMCA/video.html as a basis for the policy trailer.
This is the 1 minute cut of the song that was used for this policy trailer. czcams.com/video/M5hhmJlrrFY/video.html Use that for version 2.0
Awesome, I will update with this cut. Thanks!
@@natenorbie did you update? Link please :)
