I work as a sound recordist on TV crews (yes, the guy with the big hairy thing on a stick). We once did a news item on an award winning dairy that produced organic yoghurt. During filming of the production line they told us that we had to stop and do interviews instead. Then they changed out their cartons for Sainsbury ones and restarted the line with the same product. We swore not to tell as the brand sold, in Sainsbury's, for a higher price so I'm afraid that I can't tell you what happened that day at Rachel's Organic.

Suggestion: It would've been more fun if Paul handed them products at random, but *told* them he gave everyone the same on/off brand product

There's no way Paul would have been able to keep track of that.
That would have made a 10 minute video a 70 hour ordeal or heartache, depression, and anger.
They all have enough trouble following the simplest of rulesets most of the time.
Paul can't come up with simple rulesets competently.

They have a CZcams channel, but it's a little bit underused
They recently uploaded videos of the 100th and 101st podcasts, which were recorded in front of a live audience at the Bill Murray pub in Islington. Stuary, Ash Frith and Mr. Biffo were guests in both episodes.
Paul would make an excellent children's TV host, if he has the patience to deal with you guys then children wouldn't be an issue

As a poor student who has genuinely done the same experiment, I can definitely agree with everything these guys have said.
I sympathize with Paul on a spiritual level
Why aren't these guys on a proper TV show? No offence to Paul as he's normally off camera doing producing things, but having Stu, Barry and Eli together are the new triumvirate in my opinion. Just as Clarkson, May and Hammond work so well - these guys have the right chemistry. We all love Paul though so have him feature regularly.
As a mathcore fan, Eli's contribution to the jingle appeals to me.

7:10 fun fact: almost all major liquor brands do the same thing, especially whiskey manufacturers. Pappy Van Winkle is an insanely expensive, limited bourbon in the states that's extremely difficult to get. W.L. Weller is a cheaper whiskey that's easy to come by. It also comes from the exact same barrels that Pappy Van Winkle does, with no changes in age or temperature. One will cost you hundreds of dollars, the other $25 to $30.
I just ate some knock off Jaffa cakes and remembered this video. Can't wait for Barshens to return.

On the topic of off brand products being Identical to the leading brand. I know Tesco's standard Wheat Biscuits used to be identical to Weetabix other that the design printed on the packaging, Even the cardboard boxes the packs you buy get shipped to retailers in were of identical design. No idea if they are still identical.
That moment when Paul and Eli ad-lib the theme song 100× better than when they tried to set it up. 😂

7:20 For sure, in many cases, the brand and off-brand version of something are identical - all made in the brand's facilities, only with different labels slapped on. I worked at a grocery store just a few years ago, and a box of store brand cream cheese, sealed and straight off the truck, had 4 units of the brand version packed in by mistake.
The Co-op used to make bags of mini jaffa cakes, they were entirely superior to Mcvities...so naturally, they stopped selling them.
Aldi Jaffa Cakes are better than the proper ones. Fight me.

This kinda flies in the face of all those damn adverts where they get "random members of the public" to taste test the off-brand against the on-brand stuff. The adverts always show people being duped, but anyone who has actually had any of the off-brand stuff can immediately recognise the better on-brand stuff.
Please make this a series I could binge watch it all day. Some suggestions off brand baked beans, crisps and ketchup

No offbrand has the same kick in the teeth/burning effect of a real can of Coca Cola. It'd be such an easy game.
Why does it do that anyway!? That's the one thing that stops me from drinking Coke - it makes me feel like my teeth are being actively rotted as a drink. (Like Eli, I'm more of an iced tea guy anyway.)

A lot of Brand and off brand snacks are identical and even packaged at the same factories in some cases, We used to do mini eggs and they were 100% identical to Cadbury mini eggs, the boxes delivered on the pallets even had the cadbury brand on them, we just had to put them through the machines to bag them up for Julian Graves shops and kiosks.
I never said all, I said a lot, I worked in the snack industry for 16 years I'm fully aware how people get ripped off by buying products just because they have a brand name on the packet

At first I thought it was going to be a short episode with only 3 items. But man you guys talk so much, I was glad it was only 3 items.
So the biggest flaw in a game on this channel when scoring people individually is having all three contestants playing at the same time so they often agree or copy each other. But who cares because that jingle was extraordinary!
Also is Stuart doing a poor man's cosplay of Kylo Ren here? Just a thought.
