I have one of these - the Chi Vitalizer - been using it for 6 years. Highly recommend it! As a person with incomplete SCI since the age of 14 (from a1968 car accident), the Chi Vitalizer has assisted in maintaining circulation (has tremendously reduced leg and ankle swelling), digestive health and good posture. I purchased one for my mother. She uses hers sitting down, with her heels on the unit instead of her ankles. This has helped her with the swelling in her legs and ankles. I highly recommend a Chi Swing or Chi Vitalizer. And I appreciate the open mindedness y’all show in sharing the benefits of this machine. Thank you!

All these negative comments. Don't scoff at something you are uneducated about. By all means, go educate yourself about the origins of what is called chi with an open mind ( if that's even possible), then believe whatever you want to, but don t rip something to shreds just because it makes you feel small and stupid.
Chi is real ( in my OPINION - that's all it is, an opinion.) Chi is well known for relieving chronic pain, because under meditation a person's chi increases, and affects, guess what, the part of the brain called the thalamus - responsible for sending/receiving messages of pain. Under meditation, the thalamus is effectively SWITCHED OFF, and the more a person meditates, the more their brain permanently begins to retain the state of relaxed alertness of meditation, leading to a huge reduction in pain sensation.

Thanks for being open to exploring a topic usually avoided, and being modest about it. Qi or chi is a Taoist concept that is generally understood as vitality or air/ steam that provides sustenance. Chi is a broad concept central to Chinese and Japanese thought in oriental medicine and culture. As the world has broadened and been influenced by a variety of cultures western medicine has also influenced and informed traditional Chinese medical concepts, the idea and concept of Chi has been shifted by these as well. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, TCM there are various types of qi, Gu Qi for example pertains to something akin to nutritious value derived from food, Wei Qi is our bodies ability to fight off infections, Jing Qi is our original or primordial qi like a medical history passed on from our parents through our genes or predispositions imparted to us by our mental physical make up.
There are many of these different types of Qi but when you look at Chinese language and culture Qi is deeply engrained in how they look at everything. It's more a cultural point of view as how things are talked about that makes it hard for us western raised folks to understand. Qi is something that's deeply entrenched in their cultural history and it's all encompassing to their language and fabric of how they view the world. There are many expressions that use qi as part of them in Chinese language. If interested on understanding Qi in a more broad sense I highly recommend the book "A Brief History of Qi" by Yu Huan Zhang, Ken Rose.
In the practice of Tai Chi as well as the practice of Aikido there is an idea to go with the flow and "let your qi or ki" power the movement. In Aikido that is seen as moving from center, or hara. In tai chi that concept is taken much deeper by moving to and from the dan tien always. Although at face value this concept is very similar because the dan tien and hara are pretty much in the same place, the concept of dan tien carries with it being able to relax into our core sense of being, reaching back to the primordial to seek our root which we move from.
In this sense the Chi Machine very much lines up with this notion of being able to return to our root by relaxing. The way I rationalize the Chi Machine "increasing your Chi" is in the exact same ways you were outlining the benefits of it. By relaxing these areas and allowing things to flow, the body can circulate through normally stuck stagnant areas and release the problems there. That being said, in reality Chi isn't exactly something you can just give yourself more of by shaking/believing you are tapping into some esoteric life force. In a TCM view it is the stagnation/excess of it in some areas and releasing/deficiency in others that cause sickness, illness, mental stress, or physical pain. In western parlance, the loss of homeostasis brings illness. Nurturing natural processes of the body brings vitality and life.
Love the Chi Machine I've used it in my massage practice for quite a few years when I was working in other offices and currently looking to purchase one now that I have my own practice. Happily been practicing Chinese and Thai massage, with other oriental influenced and medically therapeutic massage therapy for over a decade.

I've used one of those before, it was a good experience. I have done martial arts yoga and qi gong for years. Qi is life force in a sense, I think of it as bio energy. And that energy can change forms, like heat, chemical, electric and so on. Qi is a real thing it's just misunderstood, we already have words for it in English but people don't realize it. The increase and refinement and transformation of this energy is one of the primary goals of qi gong.

i designed the Chi Miracle Machine, it's more aesthetically pleasing. Brad mentions working your core, which is a possibility. I teach my clients (I'm a massage therapist) to find the speed where their head is moving left to right, so the whole spine is engaged. Pillow impedes the movement of the head. As to the idea that the original unit is the best, the original unit has one speed, which is very fast (about where Brad says it's too fast)...How can anyone think a 250 pound football player and an 85 year old woman who weighs 10 pounds would move the same with one speed? That's why variable speed is crucial ( the original patent for the Sun Ancon was actually for a multi speed unit, but they trapped themselves over time with defending their single speed, which is very expensive since it's multi level)

I bought one of these machines years ago, although i couldn't afford the one advertised. It was a crazy price.
Even mine was a lot of money!
Unfortunately, i couldn't use it. I have baker's cysts at the back of both knees, which flare up incredibly easily, plus i have had unbearable pain in my coccx and my sit bones for years too. Even laying down on a thick yoga mat, the oscillations REALLY aggravated everything.
I'm in the uk, and have been treated appallingly by the NHS here. I am disabled with Chronic illnesses anyway, and i have to be forced into bed (on sleeping tablets) for 2-4 days per week because i can't stand the pain! Over the 13 years that I've had the pains mensioned, I've developed other chronic pain in my hips and neck, because i can't "sit" for very long.

Brad and Bob, I made a terrible mistake and did not read up before using. I was so excited, my machine came before my mat and I used it on the bed for more than 5 minutes. I am terribly out of shape and woke up hardly able to move. I read that using it on the bed can cause more damage. I have been using now for 4 days and my back and neck are still hurting. Do I continue to use on mat and for fewer minutes or do I wait until my back feels better. I suffer from sciatica and osteoarthritis. I really want all the benefits I have read about by dozens of testimonials.

Some inaccurate information here. The original Chi machine that the Japanese researcher (Dr. Shizou Inoue) developed is made by the company Sun Ancon. All other brands are knockoffs, like the one in this video. The benefit of the original is that it only oscillates at one speed which Dr. Shizou Inoue found to be the most therapeutic. They also claim that the rocking mechanism is smoother than the knockoffs making the experience less jolting on the body and more therapeutic.
Overall it is a great device that can help improve your lymphatic and blood flow, and help relax the body as you become aware of holding patterns and are able to release and relax them.
I have the Oroginal Sun Ancon chi machine as well as the US Jaclean and a few other the knockoff brands. The original Sun Ancon one does seem to feel better. Highly recommend it.

No reason why it can’t be both. I personally am not super spiritual but there’s things from Eastern holistic health like acupuncture and meditation that have been scientifically proven to have health benefits. There might be “Western” explanations for the mechanics of it that just haven’t been completely figured out yet (ex: theories that acupuncture triggers the movement of lymph through the body which is why people experience a “flow”) but that doesn’t really mean it needs to be either or. Both things can be true, one doesn’t negate the other. And at the end of the day if something makes you feel better does it matter if you think of it as “chi” or energy or lymph or whatever?

Why are you guys not demonstrating the REAL Chi machine??This video is VERY misleading!! This is not the original Sun Ancon Chi Machine. This is a knock off. Be very careful with knock offs and this one was not invented by Dr. Inou. You never wear shoes on the original Chi Machine, You never use a pillow under you head. I wonder why you guys are promoting the wrong product and using the Dr's name as the the one who invented this?? Not cool. I have been a distributor for over 20 years. Please respond to me ASAP. This video is misinformation!

joenike55 - it loosens your lower spine - which IS scientifically based. They could call it literally anything, and it would still be lower spine decomp, which works.

The Sun Ancon is the best chi machine. I did my research before purchasing and purchased the best and I have been using it for 5 years and love it. I feel you about the hyper extending the knees... I don't like it either... so I just put something under my legs too.
