Sometimes these smallest projects are the most satisfying.
Agreed! :)
Truly the master when it comes to staying motivated and staying focused on finding ways to make our cars better and better. Thanks again Andy!
Thanks Brotha!!
I'll admit, it's tough to stay focused when life keeps getting in the way, but comments like yours helps to keep me motivated. :)
@@AndyKruseChannel I know exactly what you mean!
Great job Andy! Your Mustang is coming along nicely 👍🏻
Thanks 👍
I went thru a complete stock overhaul ... the search for the factory look was and still is satisfying! Great job Andy .... take pride in your stuff is a good quality 🙂
Thanks 👍
Great video and motivation to do some cleanup under the hood of my 5.0!
CANADIAN SUPERMAN APPROVES
Right on!
Did the same thing on my 65 and really made a big difference! Love the DIY projects with small budgets!
Yeah, it's fun to be able to continue to work on the car, making little changes. :)
I rebuilt/restored my 66 Mustang in 2019. While I did clean and paint the engine bay I was going for a factory Shelby look.....so I left things like wire harness, solenoid and lines in stock location. Thanks!
Yeah, we all have different ideas of how we want it to look. :)
I’m jealous of how tidy your engine bay is! Looks great!
You'll get there, you've got a great canvas to start with, so it will be easier than some have it. :)
I like the way you hid your wiring.
Thanks! 😊
"A little bit at a time". That's the perfect way to put it Andy! I'm currently working on the suspension one piece at a time to refine how my 68 mustang handles. Great video as always!
Thanks!
It's easy for me to frame it this way, now that the car has come as far as it has, but it wasn't that long ago when I wanted to do the whole car in a month. :)
It's the little things. Looks good!
Agreed! :)
Looking good Andy! When I look at my engine bay I just stare at it and think how do I do this and where do I start. It's something I want to tackle this fall/winter. I guess like you said just chip away at it. Thanks.
That's really the only way to do it. I remember looking at this engine bay after I bought this car (nearly two years ago now) and felt overwhelmed of how much I had to do to get this car back up on top. But one bite at a time is how you eat an elephant, so..... :)
I'm currently redoing my engine bay on my 67 now on my channel (shameless plug) 😂 but I appreciate a clean well built engine bay alot of people will spend so much time and and money on a motor and throw it into a lightly degreased engine bay, and I as you was looking into some March pulleys and decided to just powder coat my current pulleys and upgrade later down the line, great vids as always andy
Yeah, the powder coating option sounds like a decent way to clean things up, I'm still trying to figure out what to do. :)
@AndyKruseChannel I for sure still want to do the march serpentine conversion down the road but it's almost the same cost as it is for my msd distributor, coil, and ignition box and obviously that's more a priority vs some nice pulleys
I'm itching to do a wire tuck. I hope you do a video on that so I don't have to do as much thinking!
HaHa, not much to it. I talked about it in a video while I was waiting for the 347 to be built. :)
Hi Andy nice video thanks
Hey, thanks
We refer to that as, “built not bought”
Haha, yes. 🙂
Looks good!! Where did you end up hiding your starter solenoid? That would be a good video to show that process
It's on the passenger fender liner, between the shock tower and the heater blower motor. The relocation is covered in the video I did last December where I was cleaning up the engine bay while I waited for my 347 engine build. :)
Have you thought of doing power coat at home. Wife may not like you using the oven. I did a motorcycle gas tank, took a week. There was four different colors.
Nope, I like my life. :)
Working on painting my engine bay this winter. What paint / color did you go with? Great job on the wiring relocation you've done.
Thanks!
The paint was nothing fancy, just Rustoleum satin black.
Hey Andy, I’ve always thought certain engine bays would look good in the car’s body color (like 60’s MOPARS). 60’s Thunderbirds engine bays are painted body color. I’ve have a 67 Fairlane convertible with the standard Ford black engine bay. The car is white. I know white would probably be ridiculous in an engine bay but my point is that carrying the body color into the bay would really make the engine and whole combination stand out.
Yeah, I thought about that too.
Do you have a video on changing out your export brace? I noticed you used to have the one that was welded to the shock towers.
I had the stock cowl braces on the car when I bought it, then I added the export brace that is there now (there was a video on that). When I was waiting for my 347 to get built, I was doing so clean up work in the engine bay and that's when I removed those welded-on cowl brace pieces that were left over (there's a video for that too). Removing them was easier than I thought it would be. :)
Can you link the removal I can’t find it.
Never mind I found it 👍🏾
Love the look! , what electric fan set up are you running. Cheers
It's from a 1999 Ford Contour. It fits perfectly with my 24" radiator. I did a video on the install a while back. :)
Thank you, how is it working out?
I am considering doing this install with a new cold case radiator.
@@MrVitoQ It's great, I can't remember the last time my temps got above 200 degrees. :)
Hi Andy, Looks good. Is that flat or semi gloss black paint?
More of a Satin. :)
Thanks
Does she run pretty cool with the 24” radiator and electric fans?
Yes, but I wouldn't need something like this for a stock, or relatively stock engine. As I continue down my build path, this size of radiator will begin to come in handy. :)
Ever consider adding power steering?
Yes, but it will likely be electric power steering when I get a round to it. :)
I'm on the fence with ps. Electric hides it nice and doesn't dirty up the engine bay. Can't wait to see you install it!
ive gotten a 65, and my battery is up front, and I was wondering where you have yours?
In the trunk, passenger side. I made a video on the transplant from the front to the back. :)
@@AndyKruseChannel wonderful, thanks, i just today replaced my batter tray cause my old battery leaked and corroded it
What radiator is that?
It's a Champion 2 Row, 1" tubes, and 24" wide unit I purchased off eBay. Part number CC338.
