no lie, this has to be one of my favorite kpop comebacks in several years. the dance is unique/difficult, the lyrics are powerful, the CHORUS, the rap doesn’t feel out of place, all the members are SHINING, and the aesthetic is 🔥 good job to all the producers, stylists, choreographers, and ofc, the members!
Completely agree, I’m actually struggling to remember a comeback in recent years that I love as much as this one. I’m a Blackpink fan but they’re choreographies don’t captivate me since 2016. I love ITZY choreo but I don’t enjoy their music, this comeback hit the perfect mix for me, in terms of song I love with complex choreo that shows out and gives me life!
Plus we love a voguing/whacking comeback, this has to be my fav since F(x) 4 Walls (choreographed by Kyle Hanagami) and that was all the way back in 2015! 👀
@@nameisamine completely agree! i think fourth gen groups are paving paths and creating their own sound/aesthetics in a way that i might have outgrown as a college student, but this felt relevant and nostalgic at the same time. the synth-y + melodic chorus reminds me of when choruses actually had singing and not just dance beats + shouting (w/ i guess they have done in their other songs but) so it was refreshing.
and i was actually thinking of f(x) when i was writing the comment because i decided to listen to everglow'd album and it reminded me of that era so much even tho they don't sound like f(x) at all. as someone who doesn't really follow kpop anymore, im always pleasantly surprised when i hear their music.
to add on, i was also happy with blackpink's recent comeback, i thought it had the same kind of appeal while still maintaining their sound. i honestly feel like this is the first time i've actually heard them sing since stay era... like with vibrato + falsettos + high notes 💜
