I am just catching up on the livestream from yesterday. I tried the BBCo Goose Island twice over two days at the KY Bourbon Festival. I thought I needed a second taste because I had it late in the day and tried it again the next day hoping it would be better. It was AWFUL both times! I'm so thankful I tried it before I wasted any money on it.
Received a bottle of Blantons from the in-laws this Christmas, very good !
Msrp was 70 for the EH Taylor Barrel Proof
Watching at 230 AM because power has been out since 645 PM up here in Marshall County. Had to get up and check things out and now sitting watching with a pour of Evan Williams Bottle and Bond!
Olde Raleigh is good. 30 minutes from my house. They could take a lot of my money haha
The Sazerac Rye Bottle was a original bottle from the old days of the frontier, they thinned out the glass content same shape. Old 1960s Jim Beam has the best bottles.
Yeah you definitely influenced me to get into bourbon. It’s crazy how much everything changed for me. I already put 2k into my cabinet and bourbon hunting is so exciting.
My local Costco is selling Bakers 7 for $46 after tax. My mind is blown so I bought a case of it because Msrp is almost $30 more. Bakers is an exceptional daily pour

Dry fly is ok. It’s my local distiller and I’ve had it in an old fashioned. Higher proof dry fly makes a great old fashioned. Pass on the neat
The Bardstown that smelt and tasted like Irish finished… Goose Island barrel .. I need to try and find it as I like both Irish and Goose Island (and Compass box, regardless of the box they use…)
Just picked up a bottle of George Dickel column him still Collaboration blend.
It has a very nice feel.

I really wish that the horse soldier juice was better bc the story behind the company is almost sacred to alot of us veterans, especially those of us who served during 9/11 & went to Afghanistan not long after.
Those are my thoughts exactly man. I wish some distillery worth their salt would step up and give them some quality juice.

When passing through reno and you have time, drive to Minden NV and visit Minden Meat and Deli. They have one of the best store picks in the area other than Death and Taxes

I recently tried Four Roses small batch. based on your recommendation. By far my favorite whisky I’ve tried thus far. Buffalo is my second. Just can’t ever find a big bottle.
I had an opportunity to talk to the Area Sales Manager for Southern Star at my local group blind tonight and informed him that you were trying to get a barrel pick. He said he could absolutely get you a barrel pick and that email isn’t the best way to contact them apparently.

I am a scotch aficionado who just recently found bourbon. The best bottle i have tasted is davidson reserve wheated bourbon followed by redemption wheated.
My current favourite is JD single barrel select. Asking for suggestions to broaden my horizons

Jill is right... A Blanton's store pick is not the same as a regular Blanton's... often more "unique" by some they considered inferior or "off"... or just more "unique"... possibly to be beyond the regular spectrum of regular Blanton's single barrels.
Or Maybe Not... C'Mon TJ... this is what I watch you for free and never would pay for. ;)
I’ve owned many over the years now considered allocated. Buffalo trace was my first ever bottle. Boy, that first sip was like a rocket! Elmer T Lee was a regular of mine. It could be found easily around Memphis 15 years ago. I recall it being fairly light and an easy sip but it never really was a standout. Blantons was always excellent but not worth the $ to me, especially now. Stagg I remember being very complex and strong, therefore hard to simply enjoy. EH Taylor was a like a revelation. Next level complexity and drinkability but elusive, unfortunately. Pappy was similar to EHT with even more complexity, really too much for a daily pour. The only one I’d buy again is EHT. Smooth enough to daily, complex enough to never get bored.

Alabama ID is required for the drop. You're fine if you come in when the drop is over but there likely isn't a ton left.

Yes! Sometimes on streams we'll mix all the bottles we try together. (Hasn't turned out great yet)

@Brewzle You really should try Red Breast Cask Strength. The extra proof really helps. I'm not huge on the malt flavor either but I LOVE the cask str release. Easily my favorite Irish on shelf right now
