  • At the end of WWII, U.S. soldiers discovered 28 rolls of 16 mm film that were shot by Eva Braun. They complied these 28 rolls into 8 reels. In a prior video (found here: • Hitler's Home Movies a... ), we went through the first few reels of the footage to comment on the scenes shot at the Berghof. We're continuing our look at the Berghof scenes found in the remaining reels to help the viewer understand who and what are being seen on these films.

As are most of your subscribers, I'm a History buff, especially this dark era which continues to baffle me as to how low humans really can go. I have recommended you to many young people and students of World History as a study guide placing us at the very scene of these movies. You make it all real, not a chapter in a book we're meant to learn. You truly are doing a sensational job as a gifted educator. As difficult as it is to believe, Hitler and his gang were here. They were real people in real time, as frightening as that may be. THANK YOU a million times for the work you do!

I am curious about your comment " how low humans can go ".
Tell me, do you think the west with all their wars in the 20th century...Vietnam, Afghanistan, Cuba, Phillipines, lybia, yeman, Iraq, Mexico, American Indians, South American countries, Korea, C I A ops, Croatia, and God knows how many civilians bombed, considering tens of thousands of Germans melted into the streets In just one bombing raid alone, dresden, hamburg, breman, and I could go on.
We are witnessing in real time " how low humans can go ".
Hitler....huh. Adolf hitler was not an evil man. He was a product of the west's continuous ongoing narrative for world domination. I'm sorry 75% of the world don't see it

Growing up ultra religious, and having read the Old Testament/other scripture, I’m not surprised humans ofttimes view each other as inferior, AND just as God commanded the Jews to destroy other people, it’s not a large leap to understand why a guy like Hitler could feel justified/duty bound in what he did, in an inverse scenario. That said, it’s easy to be humane/show compassion to those who are like us in race/moral (or immoral) dogma. Hitler was human, and in many ways WE have the similar struggle of reigning in OUR demons and blind spots, that he failed to subdue. The hope is that life beats those rough edges out of us - softens us, as we gain knowledge by embracing difficult/valuable experiences.

Your thoughts made me think of how far people will excuse others’ behaviour if they show the slightest bit of humanity. H was a peculiar man, but capable of unspeakable crimes. Amazing. This footage makes you think about human nature. I love your videos JD, and I'm always looking forward to the next one, I've learned a lot from you whether it's about your revolution, civil war or your participation in world conflicts. But what I appreciate most is when you focus on a particular individual giving a more human character to the story. History has always been my favorite subject.
I'm from Portugal, one day I'd like to see you deal with some piece of history related to our country. Did you know that during WWII Allied aviators had orders to land here in case they had problems during the flight because we are a neutral country? Some Germans were also forced to land here and in a small village in the south of the country, 7 crew members of a Focke-Wulf FW200 C4 are buried. The aircraft - with the code F8+NT painted on the fuselage - was shot down by a Beaufighter from 248 Squadron crewed by Flight-Sargent McLeod and Sargent Inglis.
Although some locals tried to rescue the crew they all died. They were buried in the Aljezur cemetery with the presence of Portuguese and Axis military and civil authorities.
Four Portuguese men received German commendations for their efforts while trying to save the crew after the crash or because they became involved in the funeral preparation.
There is also the story of the B-24 that on 30-11-43 landed in the sea off Faro, in the south of Portugal, the pilot became disoriented and reached the Algarve coast - at night - when he should have been in the Port Lyautey area , in Morocco. Out of fuel he thought he was making a beach landing, but he crashed into the sea. Five of the 11 crew perished. The survivors were picked up by three fishermen who took them ashore www.portugal1939-1945.org/pb4y-1-bun-63931-despenhou-se-no-mar-perto-de-faro-2/ . There is even a Memorial in Faro remembering the moment when the fishermen rescued the crew from the bomber.
If you want to know more, there is a Portuguese researcher named Carlos Guerreiro, who even wrote a book on the subject "Aterrem Em Portugal" (Land in Portugal). He has a blog with the same name as the book, where you can read these and many other stories on the subject aterrememportugal.blogspot.com/
You can also consult this page about the events between 1939-1945 in Portugal www.portugal1939-1945.org/en/home-2/ .

The real reason you can't comprehend because there are things that don't make sense as there's a massive difference between historical facts and fiction. Anyone who challenges the narrative with facts gets censored, facts and truth have been filtered out on most main stream media platforms .The government, the media and history is censored. All protected by a bodyguard of lies, laws and censorship are put in place to protect the narrative, Hollywood and media have and continue to play a massive part in spinning the narrative.
It's called brainwashing, just scratch the surface on recent events, all those that really think Putin must be the bad guy and the allies smell of roses, have obviously been asleep all their lives, especially if they bothered to scratch the surface , analyse and question history, events , wars etc on the world stage over the past 30yrs, and whose been linked to all these devastating wars and false flags etc etc you will unearth the real history.
      Keep popping them folks!

Another excellent video. Gotta admit seeing that monster with those children made my skin crawl but you were right, we have to remember that he was in fact a human. A poor example of one but still human. And the fact you used another Missourian to demonstrate your accent was perfect. It’s not that those of us from the Show-Me state have an accent, it’s just that everyone else pronounces words wrong!😂😂

As always thank you JD for posting your videos as they bring the past back to life so all generations can see a side of Germany that was totally different from the reality of what actually took place before, during and afterwards from WW2. It's something to see Hitler being affectionate toward small German children while there were other children being put to death because of their race and religion. The world must never forget the horrors the Nazis caused and did and how one man was behind this madness.

I hit the like button BEFORE you even start talking. I’ve never seen a video of yours that I didn’t like. Between you & mark felton, I’ve learned so much about ww2. It all started with one question. How was 1 man able to convince an entire nation of seemingly normal people to become a well oiled killing machine?

Actually, the films were made during the war. You can tell because Hitler is wearing his Feldgrau
uniform. Party uniform was brown with Hakenkreuz armband.

JD. Have you ever considered covering anything on Mussolini? Fascist Italy really seems to be a forgotten part of WW2 history.
