    Ordered mine yesterday (thanks to Mark over at Spyguiver), can't wait to see how it sleeps compared to my Chameleons. Have been WAITING for a Dutch version of a bridge hammock. Not only would it be on the lighter side (for bridge), but I figured many of the issues would be addressed with new Dutch bling and solutions.. Cant wait to give it a hang

    This looks great! And a very thorough video. What would you say the minimum gap between trees would need to be to get the hammock to hang correctly? The spot I'm looking at is just over 12 feet between the trees.

      Five minutes just to attach the bug net *with cuts/edits* - likely a 7-10 minute affair, which in the field is way too long for me to be a buyer. Why a single ridgeline wasn't incorporated into this design makes no sense at all, expect for having to now spring for Dutch's double tarp which adds more space along the ridge for wider setup.

    • @dutch3323
      @dutch3323  Před 4 lety +1

      @@kerry1383 To attach a bugnet it takes about 2 to 3 minutes in real time. You likely wouldn't be doing this in the field very often. Check out Spiguyvers other video of his recent trip. He has the Banyan under a Dyneema tarp and fits just fine. Please keep in mind Dyneema tarps are more narrow than most tarps on the market.

    Sorry for all the questions, I just remembered back when I order my DCF tarps from HammockGear (I have the DCF Palace for winter and the DCF tarp with doors for the rest of the time). I remember an option when I was ordering them last year (might be different now) that asked if the tarp was for a Bridge Hammock. At the time I said no, because I didn't have a bridge hammock and at their weight, figured I never would. My question is, is there anything special I have to do to use my Dutch Banyon Bridge hammock under either of my HammockGear DCF Tarps (that I said no to for bridge hammocks)? I don't want to rub against those tarps, they were a small fortune.. Thanks again, hopefully that is my last question ;-)

      @dutch3323  Před 4 lety +4

      You can put on clip on pull outs where the spreader bars are so you can open it up wit pole mods. I would no close the doors though...dutchwaregear.com/product/clip-on-tarp-pull-outs/

    • @Hangs4Fun
      @Hangs4Fun Před 4 lety +1

      @@dutch3323 thanks, I am actually pretty handy with DCF and have a whole setup for making gear and mods. I can just add reinforced pullouts at those locations. I do have pullouts on both but they are not as close to the ends. The bridge hammock will primarily be my chillaxin hammock setup. I don't see me doing any wilderness trips with it TBH. Thanks again Dutch!

    • @dutch3323
      @dutch3323  Před 4 lety +3

      We will be releasing more accessories as time permits. Side sling/side car are one of those. Unfortunately, the chameleon version will not work with the Banyan because of the different zipper lengths.

    How does the new YYK zipper stack up to the ole Vision zipper from the Chameleon?

    • @dutch3323
      @dutch3323  Před 4 lety +2

      It is still our Vision zipper however, they are now made for us by YKK. They are much better quality and that's why we went with YKK.

    Was watching Mark over at Spyguiver and was curious about how you deal with the stresses on the zipper when getting in or out. I couldnt quite tell from the video, but it kinda looked like there could be extra strain. Especially at the end at the "corner"?
    Just curious I'm sure you worked through that, was wondering what you did there? Thanks Dutch

    • @dutch3323
      @dutch3323  Před 4 lety +1

      Just make sure the zipper is open around the head end corner and you're all set. I say head end because it's easier to reach and zip back up once in the hammock.
