Black Label Society is the brainchild of guitar great Zakk Wylde. Hard and heavy, big on riffs and even bigger on the solos, BLS is the bastard child of Black Sabbath only pumped up on steroids. smarturl.it/BLSEuropeanInvdvdbr
Having graced the world's stages for the last 18 years, both as Ozzy Osborne's right-hand man as well as fronting BLS, Zakk Wylde has established himself as one of the few remaining guitar heroes.
This video captures BLS live on their sold-out European tour in 2005.

9 minutes of the actual song, and over 6 minutes of guitar solo.
Not gonna lie, this was awesome

Could have done without two minutes+ of clapping in the beginning, though.

Can you math? This whole vid is only 13 mins long. And like the first 2 mins is a drum beat
He wrote a song only he can play. Truly epic
Great point! Well said!
Yes sir I couldn't agree more. And it's still in my everyday playlist Mr. Jack
But we can all air guitar it perfectly
@@brettdenkler9530 idk man that's pretty high claim 😭🤣 perfectly
@@bryanholmdohl4382 drink 3 black tooth's smoke a joint and tell me u can't play this perfectly on air guitar. 😂
Zakk is a class act. Paying such a amazing tribute to a fallen brother is proof.
Yes indeed
Seen BLS in DesMoines Iowa back in Oct this year been on my bucket list class act and they rocked the house . I do not know their sound guy is but man it was ficking awesome
Have you looked up the KING Eddie V.H. to Dimebag? And the guitar he was going to build him? Great story!!
@@vhansen3455 sadly I missed BLS when they opened for Judas Priest 5-10 years ago, I was late and got to my seat right as they were finishing the last song. That and missing Motorhead (due to Lemmy being unwell) at Gigantour with Megadeth are the two biggest missed opportunities in my life. I really hope to see Zakk with Pantera when they come my way to make up for it.
It takes some balls to play a commercial during this song.

Hell yeah it does
I will never forgive liberty mutual insurance because of this (the shit ad CZcams picked to play for me in the middle of this performance).

This version of this song has been keeping me going in life. I recently realized that I have depression and every time I go through a rough patch I click on this video and it helps me finish the day. No other song has that power on me.
It's getting me through lately cheers
It is very commen that people doesn't even realise they have a depression, first step in fixing it is to understand you are depressed.
Not like that have helped me though xD
Just here to say that you're not alone. I've been doing the same!
Keep on going mate i've git the same shit to carry on. much Love from Poland :)

Tears every time I hear this. My younger son shared it with me after his brother died, and it will forever hold a place in my heart. Thanks Zakk
Reminds me of my older brother who died at 18...😢
8 years ago and I'm still watching this.
God Bless Dimebag Darrell, Zakk Wylde, Black Label Society and everyone watching this video who appreciates pure musical talent!

I have seen this played live over 50 times over the years, still pulls a tear
Same for me, solo and his voice, the text make me, i fond of him and in the same time, i need crying, feelings..
Yes bro same, been listening to this on the regular for over 10 years now and still dont grow tired of it. Only recording that ever pulled something like that off. Must be more than a 1000 replays by now :D
Same here brother. Paying respects to an amazing man.
This Live Version makes me cry like a baby...
Internally...
Same here
He gives that Dean an ass thrashing that would make Dime smile thats for sure.
@@tbeach3617 Yes he does🔥💯
Same here, I know his pain from personal experience.
Amazing🤘
This is my millionth time listening to this version ~ the greatest
Dimebag deserved no less than a kick ass song like this one.
Carlos Castaneda you don't understand f .... ALL !!!
Carlos Castaneda And a few Black tooth grins & spliffs
Lets not forget Vinny Paul Abbot.
@Dale Griffim you're damn lucky man!
A true rocker respect him for being true no make up no bills hit as well as being a top 3 guitarist
You can feel all the pain in Zakk's playing...
RIP Dime, shred in Heaven!
He play and his guitar sings love I can't get enough of him he has stolen my 💓 is leason to him everyday. So my love goes to Zake Wyler. Angle of Mersy ,....
Where does he plug in his amp?

Zakk Wylde is still with us
Moorhead
Ozzy knew exactly what he had when zakk playing with him and he was a great guitarist then and even better now
Seen both Dime and Zakk in concert. My life hasn’t been too bad.
Same. Feel blessed to have seen true metal gods. Now that's religion
Man I wish I was you guys
toast toasted It’s not too late to see Zakk. I saw Pantera four times. Dime got better every time. Phil got too messed up on drugs toward the end. But we all make mistakes. And I probably would have done the same thing.
@@blitzburgh432 yea . Huge Zakk fan. Love BLS
Yeah it's really cool...
And me to if I see opeth tour, my life would be great 👏
No autotune here just raw and heartfelt emotion in every shred of that guitar
Well said. This is ALL ZAKK. GUITARS DON'T SPEAK. THIS IS ZAKK WYLDE'S VOICE....
He's playing for Dime and you can tell he sincerely is playing with pure emotion. Best live version ever in my mind.
I remember seeing it on the news that Dime had been shot and thinking no way this could happen in our Metal community. But it did. My heart was broken. For Dime and his family and all of us. Zakk keeps his memory alive by playing this song for all of us. RIP Dime and thank you Zakk
I lost my dad when this song came out. It’s a true tribute to the fallen. RIP Dime and Vinnie, RIP Floyd Leslie.
R.I.P. Mr Leslie!!
God bless you, may your father rest in peace.
Long live Rock N Roll
You can feel Zakk crying through this guitar. Iv never been so sad watching a video in my life. The passion he plays with here is a testament to how much of an amazing human being Dime was. That's the saddest guitar IV ever heard.
Your 1st sentence is the most truest comment on CZcams!! Much love and respect to BLS and Dime!!
Excellent comment. You are absolutely spot on, when you said You can hear ZAKK... GUITARS DON'T SPEAK.. THIS IS 100%ZAKK..
Well said
100 years from now this song will still rock the generation of that time.
One rock zkk.wy.!...... loooves.

I loves rock zakkk wy.nd.
This will ONLY HAPPEN IF PEOPLE CONTINUE TO NOT ALLOW THEIR CHILDREN TO BE DEPRIVED OF LEGENDARY PHENOMENAL PEOPLE LIKE ZAKK.... IF WE DON'T PROTECT OUR FREEDOMS, IN 100 YEARS, WE WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO CHOOSE WHAT WE LISTEN TO...
I've never heard a guitar cry so loud an long or felt the love an sorrow as zakk puts out in this song..
I get choked up every time I see this version of “In This River” watching one man force an instrument into such submission to get all of these feelings out during the opening solo is truly the only way to dedicate this song to one of the greatest guitarists that ever lived.
I listen to this song everyday twice a day for my own reasons thank you
Hear the passion in the shredding. His guitar sounds like it's bleeding sadness and anger. A prime example of emotionally charged playing.
hell eyahh brother .. and imagine that there is so many people that hate the way he plays and they call themselfs a fan of zakk wylde man .. god dame it !! cause of his solos you know all that pentatonic skills and he plays fast at his shows .. freaking people !! listen to him even his voice crying for his friend and he wrote his song o him what a man !!
Chris Bravesevenn This song was written before Dime passed. But its his song, always in the set celebrating Dime's impact on his music and his ability to make people smile
Bollocks!
lulzdragon my God the shit makes me cry
I agree, 'bleeding sadness'...but he overplays
You can hear and feel his sadness through his opening solo and throughout the rest of the song.
Gives me chills
Every few months, I come back for this fix. My drug. Zak just nails it; guitar & vocals
Easily goes down as one of my favorite rock n roll moments off all time. Everything about this performance is epic. One the greatest tributes to a dead friend, ever.
"The good lord needed him, because he was an angel, so he took him back home" How to break your heart in so few words. Gets me every time
Mo McCo Makes me think of my son too
more like: the good lord needed him, to play guitar for him, and only him...
So fuckin true
You know we can rock our asses off but the drugs Will kill us
so you really think God sent that crazed gunman to the stage to put a bullet in Dimebags head? really
Zakk Wylde is absolutely right.. Darrel was a pure absolute Angel, an he blessed us all with his guitar.. the Lord needed Darrel back into the heavenly realms.
Man he is awesome never seen someone master the guitar like him
ا.ب.ت.
Well dime bag Daryl was every bit as good as Zakk Wylde
Have you ever heard of Dime Bag Daryl
I can't say this enough even to my friends who don't like hard rock.. this is the single handedly greatest live performance of all time in my opinion.
That along with Pink Floyd-Comfortably numb Pulse version
From 8.20 is just epic.
Ive met Zakk a few times, and been lucky enough to watch him live several times over the past 3 decades. This is the one song live that gets everyone quiet. People still get emotional every time they hear it live, and you can still see the love for Dime every time they play it.
I've seen Black Label live. And I was fortunate enough to see Zakk play that guitar behind his head. ZAKK IS A MASTERPIECE ALL ON HIS OWN! His band is killer!!
I've seen black label 5 times already! My favorite band exclamationo one, is better than Zack!😊
If you listen carefully there is a band behind, playing along with Zakk.
❤🤘
Thank you for still staying on Earth, Zack!
4:36 This lick is absolutely brilliant.

Absolutely.
The guitar went to doctor after that rape solo 🤘

Black Label are one of the few groups that can make a 13 minute song feel short.
Passion... their is no other word to sum it up. Saying that, what Zac can do with a guitar is not human. Got to meet Zac on his blessed hell ride tour. This guy is down to earth and loves his fans. Proud to be part of the doom crew. Best from Wyoming 🍻
zakk is so talented that he plays guitar and bass at the same time
If that guitar was a gift from Dime to Zakk... this version is a proper “thank you, brother”. Respect.

One of the most impressive mominents guitar solo's ever still to this day.
He plays so heavy and raw. I feel sorry for those strings... what a god
The pure emotion this song conveys is simply incredible

Pouring his soul out, love this man.His talent is insane. I can relate to this type of pain .I'm sure any normal person can feel this, weather they been through it or not.
Zakk is the only guitarist in metal truly worthy of honouring Dime - the two very best players in the genre over the last 25 years or so, and friends to the end.
