Man Chael absolutely smashed it as a coach. “They’ll tell you failure is not an option. That is ridiculous. Failure is always an option. It’s the most readily available option you have. But failure is a choice.” Believe it or not, this has helped me since the day I heard him say this. It helps in all situations in life. And for myself, it helped me with overcoming the fear of losing while competing in BJJ. I needed to conquer my fear. And I did. I won. Thanks, Chael.
It feels weird to say this about Chael, due to all the controversies surrounding him, but this emotions vs actions speech was brilliant. It stayed with me ever since I heard it back in the day, and it really helped me.

Not only is Chael a gifted athlete but he also has a sharp mind and the gift of gab.The guy can connect with anyone.
I really feel like Uriah needs the right coach mentally. Physically he has everything he could need to succeed in MMA. Chael was the right type of guy for him. Felt like a different fighter mentally when he wasn't being coached by Chael and his team on Tuf.
I honestly think Uriah's biggest problem is that he believes that if he really lets himself go there'll be a dead man in the octagon with him shortly thereafter. I'm not sure he's wrong. Two of the hardest KOs I've ever seen were by Hall. Every time he KOs someone you wonder for a split second if they aren't getting back up.

This season of TUF changed my opinion of Chael forever. Not only did they go out there a but two fighters into the finals, he showed compassion and true unselfish leadership.
People tend to think Chael is overrated but in all honesty Chael was extremely hardworking and even he lost major fights he worked hard for them. No matter what we love you UNCLE CHAEL.

Chael is the best coach I've ever seen on TUF. He has retained a lot of wisdom from his coaches.
I remember my wrestling coach asking the team a question on the first day. "Which is stronger: the body or the mind?" It was such a cliché that I actually felt embarrassed for him, until he answered it with no clichés.
"The body. The mind will quit. It wants to quit. You can train to the point at which you know for a certainty that you CANNOT give anymore, but even then, you still can. So, don't listen to clichés about a strong mind. That time could be spent running"

Absolutely one of the best…the coaches didn’t make it about them. The fights were awesome. Uriah terrorized the house and the dark horse KG didn’t come out of nowhere, he was there all along totally dominant but overshadowed. Chael is a great coach and this season was amazing.

You know this stuck with Uriah. Chael is the best coach ever on TUF. He really took to his team, and actually coached them. No gimmick, no trying to impress them with some "bad ass" attitude. He was a teacher.

What a great video. I've had (to this very minute) a lifelong battle with anxiety and self-doubt. You will never overcome fear. Your opponent won't either. You can train for it though. We used to do worst case scenario drills. Once you're absolutely spent, you'll be put with a fresh guy, starting off in full mount or your back while you defend. So, if it ever happens to you in a fight, you've been here before many many times. It really helps to fade the fear and doubt.
You can either pretend to be a super badass who has no fear, ever. Or you can man up, admit what is eating you, and start working through it.
