I appreciate the info, that was my question. I just bought a new ski and I live in the Midwest, so I am becoming familiar with running water craft in saltwater. Im going to Florida for a week and didnt know if I could leave my ski on the water and wash it before I leave or should I flush it daily. I see you cant play around with this at all so I will flush after every run.
I’ve had a Yamaha 212x boat since 2017. I’ve always followed the Engine On Water On Water OFF Engine OFF They really hammered that in me when I bought it. And it also says that in the service manual. However, before my new boat, I had a 23 year old Sugar Sand Jet boat with a Mercury 6cyl 2 stroke sport jet… and I always put the water on first and turned the water off last, and I never had any issue. I wonder if the design was totally different or if I really was risking it, I never knew ? All I know is I don’t risk it on the new boat, especially since I was informed from the start.
the best way to flush yer toilet////er i mean ski is to take it to a freshwater boat ramp and ride it in freshwater after the salt ride....even yer trailer gets a good dip
Well looks like my son just did this to our new ski. He had the hose running, ski would not start, was messing with the battery for a while. Gave up. Removed hose. 2 weeks later we take a look. Won't turn over. Replace starter solenoid. Still just a click. I reviewed with him what he did and experienced. We pull plugs and sure enough full of water. Sucked it all out. New plugs almost started for a second. Pulled plugs again. I push on the pistons and the back one moves down like 2 inches. Oh oh. Remover cover to spin motor from shaft. Front and middle piston go up and down, rear does not. Flm. Just spend 12 gs on this thing. Now motor needs rebuilt.
I do it very similar except I start by spraying the ski/trailer first and then flush the engine that way I'm letting the salt away work on the ski/trailer while flushing.... I use a foamer dispenser for the ski/trailer and then switch to what you use for the engine flush...
Good video. thanks. QUESTION: DO YOU EVER RINSE THE INSIDE OF THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT? and how often do you change your anode? and how often do you grease your hubs? thanks
Hey man, I like your videos. Thank you for what you do. I have a question for you. I just bought a GP SVHO 2024 and took it to the beach yesterday. It was my first run, and I'm new to all this. I bought Salt-Away, like you mentioned in your videos, but when I went to flush it, it didn't fit. Now, the issue is that Amazon will take 3-5 days to deliver the flex hose. Do you think it will be safe to wait until the flex hose arrives, or do you have any other recommendations? Is there someone who sells a different adapter that I could use until I get my hose?
Check your local powersports dealers they should have some, if not just flush with water with the attachment that came with the ski. You shouldn’t have any issues until the new parts come in
One secret, the best way to clean, de-salt and lubricate the engine cooling system and Water Pump Impeller is to use a mixture of antifreeze coolant with water. The system you use is fantastic, it's just that it's better and cheaper antifreeze coolant.
What is the recommended flush time for the waverunner? I have seen people say you need to do it for 10-20 minutes and others say 5-10? First time owner and would like to keep it in good condition.
If your from another state visiting say Florida would it hurt the Jet drive to go 3 or 4 days without flushing have no clue where I could flush one when from out of state
Salt Away is a great product. Flushing after every ocean run is a must! I use it even after fresh water runs out of habit.
Same! I always use it no matter what.

We use this as well....great tip and overview video!!! Order of operations matters!
I would check the pump strainer

I hear just run hot water. Salt away does nothing. Just like camper trailers. Septics system stop using additives. From good sources
Eu faço a mesma coisa sempre. Saiu da água doce e vou para o lago que fica dentro do meu condomínio. Fico por 15 minutos e volto para casa tranquilo.

Dang hate to hear that, hope you get it running again!

Good idea!
Can a jet ski be flushed/cleaned in reverse
Good video. thanks. QUESTION: DO YOU EVER RINSE THE INSIDE OF THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT? and how often do you change your anode? and how often do you grease your hubs? thanks
I usually don’t have issues with anodes, and I grease hubs maybe 2 times a year

You don’t really want to introduce anti-freeze into the environment.
If someone in the harbor sees you letting coolant into the water or onto the harbor floor, they will skin you alive.
Marine and R.V. antifreeze is non toxic, different formula than automotive type.
Where do you get that light blue hose extension on the end of the salt away mixer? Can you send me a link of what that is if It's recommended to have?

5 minutes is plenty
3 Minutes
I do 5-8 minutes after a saltwater day
you a****** I did exactly what you said and my engine is full of water inside
2023 gp 1800 r H.O ? I have this exact ski
Can you please link the exact hose attachment you have
a.co/d/eF7Jidc
Can you show and tell me exactly where you plug the hose into
Every jet ski is different
Is seadoo different? I see those folks running water without engine on.
It doesn’t do anything do not listen to random people in the internet some times it’s BS
Does the little extension hose in blue come with the kit?
It does not
@@Watercraftshack Can you please give me a link to the exact hose attachment you have

You can find a short hose like that at any Wal-Mart in the R.V. section.
How did u get your decal off the glove box ????
Heat gun or hair drier works great took off all mine
I assume this works for the jet boats as well? Sorry for the stupid question.
What engine does your jet boat have ? But yes it should be the same process
@@Watercraftshack Yamaha ar190. 1.9L
@@itr0863 yea that should be the same

rust can develop quick i wouldnt risk it
Sand went to my jetaky what I don
Better solution to this problem is Closed loop SeaDoo
Yamaha will still out last the seadoo tho
More problems when you're dealing with cooling issues
