AFTER SOME MORE RESEARCH IT'S HIGHLY RECOMMENDED NOT TO DRY RUN OR FLUSH FOR MORE THEN TWENTY SECONDS THIS IS ONLY ONE PART OF CARBON RING FAILURE THAT CAN CAUSE YOUR SKI TO TAKE ON WATER....JUST DO YOUR HOMEWORK AND BE SAFE.

    I just wanted to say thank you again for making this video on the best method to clean a jet ski. Although I do have the same jet ski as you do, your process can be used on any ski. Most importantly, I want to say I continue to go back to your video to remind myself on what should be done. Your's is the best video out there I have found in keeping my valuable ski in good condition for as long as possible. Thank you again.

    • @TexMexOutdoors

      Honestly I don't spray the inside of my like that all the time. It's a ski all connections are and should be water proof. There design to keep water from causing electrical issues. I've sprayed my down 3 times since I've had my ski and I've had no issues yet. One reason why I had salt water in my ski was because the rubber seal under my seat came loose and was allowing water into my ski.

The clean job was on point, initially, I was told to get off the water run thru a self-car wash booth the 1st hour of the water is critical, and spray the body and trailer down before driving on back home or storage. then flush the engine, then flush the bay area, wd-40 all metal fasteners, spay salt protection on the engine bay,

    • @TexMexOutdoors
      @TexMexOutdoors  Před rokem

      Thanks for the positive feedback, getting the salt water rindesd off immediately depends how far you live from the sea. Assuming you don't want seawater setting up and start rusting. If I drive to one spot for fishing and 1.5 hours away then yeah I'll rinse it off before going home. Then when I get home that's when I give it the works. I use WD40 on the outside on everything. The inside I use seadoo's rust prevention. For the the first question no I haven't I stalled a bilge pump yet. I'm not sure why I haven't but there's nothing wrong with installing one. For the live well pump I run salt terminator x tru the line and pump. The threaded connection on the live well is the same connection as a water hose. I went on Amazon and bought a female to female hose connection 2 foot long. Connect both ends to , turn the water on, then turn the live well on, and let it run. PLEASE REMEMBER WHILE FLUSHING THE ENGINE DONT RUN IT FOR MORE THEN 15 to 20 SECONDS SO YOUBDONT MESS UP THE CARBON RINGS. IF YOU MESS THOSE UP THEN THE SKI WILL START TO LEAK.

      Yes , sorry I just saw this question. If you are referring to the small holes at the bottom back of the ski those are your drain plugs. If you leave those open while on the water you'll sink your ski. You suppose to remove them once the ski is out of the water.

Lucky mine snapped back into place though. Had to use the back end of a hammer and press it back into place. I think Sea Doo needs to make a better weather strip design for their seats. It's good to know that your problem was fixed by the weather stripping on the seat. Hopefully everyone else realized that was the problem too.

    Idk much about these but definitely want to get myself one, one day. How many hours do these typically last? I read 300-500 hours. That doesn’t seem like a long time to me, I picture about 8 hours a week/weekend trip if you really like fishing. That’s about 415 hours in one year. So if you’re a very active fisherman this will only last about a year?

    • @TexMexOutdoors
      @TexMexOutdoors  Před rokem +1

      It really depends on you. I work a lot and depending on the weather and the seas it determine how many times we go offshore. I may get 6 trips in one year but that's only offshore. As long as you take care of the ski it will last a good while.

      Service guy told me the 2018 and up only need to be inspected after 2 years or 200 hours. They changed the design of the supercharger and made it way more reliable, that's why they recommend just a inspection and not a rebuild like the older models. This being said they last years with proper maintenance, inspections to see if there are problems before they get bigger. Next is the carbon seal that defiantly need to be replaced when you do your regular inspection after 200hr. I know a dude who has put around 1100hr on a 2019 and besides the carbon seals every 200hr he had the supercharger rebuilt after 600hr and it cost him around 750$. The engine is still going strong in it.

    What’s the approximate tongue weight?

    • @TexMexOutdoors
      @TexMexOutdoors  Před rokem

      It is recommended that 7-10% of the total weight (weight of the trailer plus weight of the cargo on the trailer) be on the tongue. For example, if the gross weight of the trailer and cargo is 2,000 lbs, then the tongue weight should not be less than 140 lbs and should not be greater than 200 lbs.
      If my math and research is correct.
      Trailer weighs 195lbs for the Triton LT
      Seadoo fish pro trophy 1,023
      1,118 × 10% = 111.8 lbs on the tongue
