It's easy to get caught up in the mesmerizing architecture and stylish design of places like Dubai, especially in light of all the oil revenue that the UAE benefits from. It's easier to be complacent with things that are nice to look at, rather than admit that the government is lavishly corrupt, even by Saudi standards. "Oil-- not even once." While we could go into greater depth of how this system of excess is perpetuating the self-destructive tendencies that lead the rest of western capitalism into economic depressions, we simply can't find the time in the 54-second anthem.
