  • In this video, I will show the benefits and features of my CamVac dust extractor. I will cover the general workings of this vacuum. This particular model includes three motors that can be used in a number of combinations. 3 Motors together develop 4 HP.
One focus of this video will be rearranging my dust collection system, and placing the CamVac in the best location for my tools and machines. See the video link below for "Rearranging my shop"

Really comprehensive system, Sam, and sounds like good value for price. Perhaps rather a lot of ribbed 4" hosing reducing flow, though. In my comment to Mike Peace's demo I described how my 3metres connected to sliding smooth PVC rainwater trunking serve 2 lathes, BS and pillar drill, plus spray/ fume hood, as necessary.(One man shop). Thanks, Bernard.

    Great vacuum system Sam.

Good dust collection is important. More than the power consumption of the unit, I look to see what the airflow in CFM is rated. For reasonable dust collection with multiple access points 1200 CFM and up is a good range. You are right, collecting dust off of the chop saw is a challenge.

I have the 2 motor version of the cam vac and I can’t believe the power these units have. I just wish the the canister was larger because it fills up fairly quick. No regrets with this purchase. Hope you have an equal experience with yours!

Thank you very much for that feedback. I appreciate it. My three motor cam VAC is a little scary. It creates so much vacuum. It’s unreal. Thanks, Sam.

Those posable ducts would solve a lot of problems for me. I always spend way too much time positioning the more flexible hoses to collect dust.

The CamVac is an interesting system. Although it is on the expensive side at about $800 for the model you have. Several of the accessories show promise though. Especially the Posable system. Thank you for sharing. Have a great day and stay safe.🙂🙂 PS you have a great shop assistant.

That’s a lot of motor Sam, wondering about the decibel level and heat generated from 4.5 horses? Stay safe.

I have run this with three motors going. The sound really isn’t that bad I have the hoses attached to the exhaust outlets and it really makes a big difference. But I’m still learning ,dust collection on my bandsaw is not great so I’ve been trying to use all three motors when I make a cut there. Sam

Looks like a very effective system...what size outlet does it take?

Hi Sam, We met in Barnaveld early in the morning before your first demo. When you use the 3 hoses on the exhaust ports to reduce noise, how much suction do you lose? Thanks, Myles

      Hello Myles
Nice to hear from you. That’s a very good question. I never really thought about it. I’m not sure how much suction I lose with the hoses. I may try a little experiment and disconnect them. But regarding the noise, it really helps to reduce the decibel level. Thanks, Sam .

It doesn’t lose any suction. It’s the exhaust.
