#Vlog122 #BluelagoonIceland
The Blue Lagoon is NOT overrated. I was just there two weeks ago and I did the Blue Lagoon 5-hour Spa Retreat. It was an AMAZING experience and my skin is still glowing all over. It is a "must do" if you visit Iceland.
I loved Blue Lagoon & was happy I went. I put the conditioner in my hair & left it in until I got out of the water. My face & hair felt wonderful .
Taylor learned the hard way haha! Live and lean
I'm an Icelander (I live in Copenhagen, Denmark) and In my opinion, I would pick the blue lagoon ANY DAY over the others. Even the new lagoon (Sky Lagoon). I don't really think Blue lagoon is overrated, but again, I'm not there for the sunset and all that, I go there mostly in the weekdays and when people are working, to feel that calming surroundings, cozy feeling and not a packed blue lagoon. I love visiting my home country, and I visit the blue lagoon each time I'm there - I can't visit the country without being in the blue lagoon 🙈😂
That is fair, we did go on a Saturday due to the timing of our trip but we always try to avoid the crowds if we can. I think since we were doing the camper van rental we hated the fact that you have to shower again. You’re home country is amazing, we loved it! We also been to Copenhagen what an amazing city as well!
Cool video. Water looks warm. Hope you had a great Saturday with this amazing Nj weather.
Hope you did too John! Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
My main issue with Myvatn nature baths was the sulphuric smells which, let’s face it, just smells like rotten eggs.
I hear ya, although I didn’t think it was that bad at the nature baths. But in the other geothermal scenic spots it STANKS! Haha
Awesome input. We may think the same, at least based on what we know. We are going in a week
I have been to both and loved them both! I just love Iceland! 🥰
Right! It’s such an amazing place!
Just came across your video I hope you had a lovely stay at the Blue Lagoon few months back. I work in the shop and the tip I could give you about the hair problem is you need to soak your hair in the conditioner and make sure its tied up and wont touch the water the silica dries the hair out a lot. So next time you guys visit put that conditioner in the hair before shampoo and conditioner after your hair will thank you❤️ Also we do have moisturiser in the locker rooms in the drying area which you can use to avoid to be dry afterwards☺️
Thank you Tara! We learned the hard way about the conditioner haha! Iceland is incredible you're lucky to call it home!
Thanks for the review. We wanted to go to the Blue Lagoon because we've heard a lot about it but now are hearing about Sky Lagoon also. Have you heard anything about that place?
Looking good in the face mask Kev! Blue Lagoon looks like a must do!!
Hahahahaha thanks mate! Heard you’re playing next week 🏒
Iceland is totally on my bucket list! Looks amazing. Can I ask, what do y’all do for income that allows y’all to travel so much?
CZcams full time now, Airbnb and Taylor’s a part time nurse. And we travel back to accumulate lots of points and miles
Interesting comparison! I've been to the Blue Lagoon 4 times and love it. Yes, it can get very crowded at times, that's a downside. I had similar issues with my skin afterwards, it got very dry and I had to shower again to make it feel better. In Reykjavik there is also the Sky Lagoon, which I would also recommend. It's an experience that exists of 7 steps, like rituals. You will be in a sauna, step into a steam shower, dip in warm and cold water, etc. I've never visited Myvatn, but it's definitely on my list.
The sky lagoon sounds awesome!! I love going from hot to cold environments, wish we knew about it when we were there. Just another reason to come back!
Sky Lagoon is also closer to Reykjavik, so if you’re staying in Reykjavik, it’s more convenient to get to. It’s an incredible experience.
Great video
thanks Jamie!
I totally agree with you both the Blue Lagoon is overated.
Great Video and enjoy Norway.
Thank youuu 😀
next time you should try the sky lagoon in reykjavik :d
Yes! 100% agree it’s on our list for next time!
I visited BL in August. It was enjoyable but I wouldn't say spectacular by any means. Overall I had a good time in Iceland.
I used to live in Keflavik back in the early 80's. My God the Blue Lagoon has changed! It used to be just a simple geothermal plant with no frills back then.
I believe that Stacy!
I was there about six weeks ago, and while I'm glad I went, just to say that I had (was on my tour, I didn't really have a choice) I was underwhelmed. I'm not a spa or facemask kind of person, if that's your thing, go, you'll probably enjoy iy. Strictly speaking it is basically a man-made pool filled with the exhaust water from the neighboring power plant. Overall, it was "fine".
I will say that the cider in the pool was excellent, as was the Lava restaurant.
Naked baths? Are they public or can leave bathing suit on?
You have to shower naked before getting into the hot spring pool. The showers are public they do have a few private stalls though
Myvatn includes a steam room but the view is rather dull..Geosea is way better
Bathing in chemical waste water from the nearby plant! 😮..all this for a very expensive price. Silica is basically silicone and does nothing for the skin and it'd used in preservatives. The "lagoon" is actually man made.
I hate to be so blunt, but the place is garbage. I was there last week (Monday at noon) and 5 days later tested Positive for COVID. Lockers were unavailable, at one point even the hot water went out at the showers (causing serious traffic for about 20 minutes). There were a lot of rowdy young people and the place had a spring break feel. The only thing missing was the rap and techno music and a volleyball. So if that's your cup of tea you will love it, me not so much. Thankfully everything else in Iceland was amazing.
Not worth it. Go to Myvatn instead.
Both are cool, but yes we agree we’d go back to Myvatn and probably not the Blue Lagoon! Good to experience both tho!
