Great video! So if I understand correctly, you have resoldered the U9005 and U9010 chips? And this fixed the phone? I have a completely dead Galaxy S7 Edge. I can not access data. Samsung service guys told me the motherboard is dead but not specifically which part of the motherboard is dead. I would really like to salvage data. Do you think resoldering like you did it will fix my phone?

Ive had some kind of problem with every Samsung I ever owned, my last two were brand new S7's and they both just died randomly, one in under a year, the other in about 2....I really liked the S7, perfect size and with everything I really needed in a phone but no more money for Sammy until I die, that is my promise. I don't expect other brands to be any better but they can all be had at a fraction of the price, "flagship" priced phones are another suckers game.

Mine is dead as well and I haven't tried to repair it yet. I thought it's a battery fault, but when I opened the phone and plugged it in for charging, the motherboard is overheating in this area, but mostly in the next component to the right, next to the one, which you removed the metal cover. My phone is still covered by warranty, but I am confused what to do cause I don't want to lose my data and maybe I will attempt a repair.

    • @MovilonePhoneRepair

You need to heat the back up and then use a pry tool, blade or plastic razor blade to slide in between the edge of the case and the back. Dont try to pull the back off as you will snap it, instead push the blade inside and work it along the edge of the frame, there is a 3mm sticky seal that you are separating between the frame and the rear casing. you can push the blade into the case as far as you like and wont damage anything as the PCB is protected under covers so you wont rip any components off the board. nothing is acessable untill those covers are removed so you are safe to get stuck in there and separate the casing glue

Yes, you can swap the motherboards between Samsung S7's of the same type ie Edge into an edge. I have done this several times as it is often much cheaper to get an unused S7 or a lightly used one and swap the motherboards over to save having to mess about changing the broken screen. same with the cameras, the charging port and the headphone jack.

350-400 Degrees Celsius and you need the flux paste. iI you don't have flux paste then it wont work regardless of how hot you get it.
if using an air station, 350 degrees at 25% air should do the trick.
When using the flux paste / gel you can get no clean and stuff you have to clean off. i would recommend getting the no clean as you will need to buy the cleaner and an ultrasonic bath if its the residue stuff. if you dont clean that stuff off it will rot the board as its slightly corrosive
