@@4thegoodI don’t think you understand the meaning of the word “foresee”, my guy. Let me help you out - Foresee means “to be aware of something beforehand” or “predict”. Because Newey worked on ground effect cars previously (at Williams I believe), he could foresee porpoising in current regulations and the way he solved it was by designing the suspension geometry himself for Red Bull Racing.
@@M4NA5 Adrian is an engineer not a prophet or oracle! According to Oxford: “When you foresee something, you predict or realistically envision it happening e.g. Did you foresee your team winning in the championship or were you surprised? Alternatively, saving bitcoin 11 years ago would have required foresight as it was unknown to everyone. Did you foresee Bitcoin being worth as much as it is now? Things like that traditional sense of foresee is where there are unknowns to the entire market. Not so in Adrian’s case, he had insider knowledge in trading terms! Therefore, it is not specifically foresight.
Adrian actually had experience working on the ground effect cars in the 80’s that had porpoising. That is knowledge that allowed him to KNOW ground effect cars would porpoise. Due to his experience he was able to provide a solution before all other teams. That’s not necessarily foresight. It like knowing for a fact that 11 years after Bitcoin launched you KNEW it would be worth a lot rather than a feeling it would be worth something. It’s the knowledge from his direct lived experience in the exact situation. I understand what you are saying is more modern speech. However, you have distracted from the sprit of my post. The man is a genius and perhaps that is more important than the English lesson we are having.
