Tackling- both goes full into the tackles, at times looks a bit rash as well. Because of the brighton system Caicedo's tackles lead to ball recovery most of the times. Passing- Caicedo gets more involved in attacking play as well, both didn't break lines a lot, both able to switch the play. Dribbling- both can beat the press, both look comfortable in tight spaces

Caicedo, like Kante, doesn’t know the difference between attack and defence. I.e. he transitions between the two without seeing the game broken up like most of us do. He always seems to play in broken play due to his transition play being that good. Never drops energy. In some cases he uses extra energy tackling from the blind side and then takes the ball and drives with or without the ball. Very special. He is very clean. Gives massive Kante vibes. However, like Kante he won’t shin playing as a lone/holding six IMO. His game is being let loose on the pitch. Perfect for Enzo who loves to be first receiver from the backs. Then Enzo can move forward with the play in motion knowing Caicedo thrives in transition. Hate to say it, like Kante and Drinkwater.

As a Liverpool fan I won't mind Chelsea taking caicedo but just leave us with lavia. I would take him all day. At just 19 his tackling style is impressing. High level of retention and read the spaces sharper to cover almost completely. He also got vision with passes and can distribute with both foot. Also the price is a steal for such a talent so I am all lavia. I have seen both play caicedo is a monster but lavia has not tapped into his prime potential yet. Imagine him doing this for a relegated team. How much more a team competition for the title. I would take that kid anytime. So Chelsea take caicedo, I am okay with that but lavia I would hope liverpool get that kid.

With Kante, Kovacic, Loftus Cheek and possibly Mount and Gallagher all leaving. I would sign both but right now Caicedo the priority we need a destroyer in midfield. Chelsea's central midfield options will be very inexperienced and raw with how things look now. Even with the addition of both of these which I would like. Poch would be picking from Caicedo, Lavia, Enzo, Chukwuemeka, Andrey Santos and Cesare Casadei. All players who I would like to have at Chelsea and could turn into a dream selection in time but for the hear and now real lack of leadership and experience

I will pick Lavia , number1 reason is price . Caicedo is too expensive and might affect him , remember the press , also Lavia uses ball more that Caicedo from the video I just watch . He knows how to hold ball and walk away from many players even when in tight corner and finally he shoot more than Caicedo . His shot are accurate. Caicedo don't shoot . I want someone like Rodri a CDM that knows how use ball that's how modern CDM should be becox of loose ball . Check out Samuele Ricci from Torino. If it were possible, get Caicedo and him. He has the qualities to be a sitter (passing range, interceptions, commander skills) alongside a tackler like Caicedo & playmaker like Enzo, they'd make a very good midfield trio in a 4-3-3 formation.

I have not watched a lot of Lavia, but when i see his abilities here, i feel he actually has more skill, and a higher ceiling than Caiceido. I see a lot of Partey qualities in him. Great energy, ball carrying abilities, etc.
Lavia is good but in build up play caicedo is better. Lavia likes to boss the midfiled hence his ball carrying ability. But Caicedo is the modern day DM/CM can fit in any team easily, what a talent.

Lavia got two assists and a goal but the rest of his dribbling was in his own field, generally in counterattack and open field situations, but also in the majority he did not achieve anything important and lost it after a foul. Note that almost all of Caicedo's "dribbles" are in the rival field, he appears in much higher areas that Lavia is constantly supporting up, then in his own field several of his dribbles were to get out of the pressure. Caicedo manages more the attack and control position game in the rival field and likewise manages the game more in his field coming out clean if he is pressured. What the video only shows is that Lavia is perhaps a little better coming out in open space.

Caicedo is a great recoverer and his game is more refined and precise in middlefield than this player presented in this video. This player may be seen to have an interesting dynamics and tries to be more agressive in the attack but I can't see something concrete and resolutive.

I disagree........... Caicedo is more of a box to box mid that is defencive, tall and reads the game well but quite old school. Lavia was trined to be like Rodgi by City, Fast, Press resistant and able to pick a pass. Thats why Liverpool want Lavia so much, he would be their Rodri in a very similar formation.

No you’re wrong. Chelsea have Cassadei who’s the best player at the u20 world cup and Andrey Santos who’s 19/20 but was called to the Brazil national team this year and their u20 Captain. Also there’s Chukwuemeka who’s really talented. So even if Kante kova and mount and cheek leave Chelsea needs just one more established midfielder in my view. But in that case they got to keep at least one of mount or Gallagher

Lavia is not a Registra 😂. You don't know who a Registra is. He's a box to box midfielder. Someone like Jorginho is a Registra. They help to control the game with passes without involving too much in attack. They function more in a possessive football. Another player like that is Alcantara. Xavi could also play that and more. Lavia is a box to box midfielder who both attacks and defends. Get it right 👍
Caicedo is the embodiment of n'golo kante, chelsea should sign him immediately. lavia is fantastic also, his individual skills seem better, it would be amazing if we get both.
