Ginger took himself and drumming way too serious. John showed the world that having fun playing drums is the most important aspect of playing. I wish this had never has happened. Very few drummers bring me to tears and John is one of them, Gavin Harrison being the second.

Bill Ward of Black Sabbath spoke very highly of John. Bill called John a true musician and referred to himself as more of a 'reactionary drummer'. I think Bill felt that John was better than him but it never stopped Ward from achieving greatness. In much the same way that Bill was Black Sabbath, John was Led Zeppelin and their music must be taken in that context.🎼🥁🎹

John never drank before a concert. Probably 1 of the few that abstained before.
Baker was en ego- centric and jealous dude. As Page himself said / to paraphrase ‘ I don’t get what Ginger was saying. John was all about swing’ Bonham is all about swing and groove. GOAT
Carmine Appice has spent three decades taking credit for every single lick, opportunity and bit of success Bonham ever had. The guy is an insufferable humble-bragging dullard.
To me,,Bonham isn't the best rock drummer in the world, however he's definitely in my top five. His use of only one bass drum to do the fills he does, that normally require two bass drums or one bass drum with a double pedal,is likely one of his most notable assets.

Ginger has always been a pompous guy. John could rock with the best of them. Yes he was heavy handed but that’s what the music called for. His shuffles were great and we all know shuffles are one of the hardest techniques to master on the drums.
