WowâŠ. What an unbelievable episode. I think we must thank Keith for all his honesty. I work within a stressful pressurised industry and although nowhere near Keithâs money I earn ok. I have had big and continual struggles myself and this has helped me personally realise that I must also make changes. Keith take a bow for being so honest and continue to stay strong
In fairness to Keith he's now one of the best pundits in Ireland. Brilliant homework done every time he's on.
Parky right at the end of the episode. What a question to ask đ
i was just laughing thinking the same, they cut the answer off though
Fair play to his wife. She must be an absolute diamond. So glad heâs sorted. He was a real talent.
Finding life hard at the moment, watched this and Kirkland one yesterday. Tears in my eyes! Not loads but they came out and Iâm going to try find some light and happiness!!
Got to say. Fair props to Keith's wife for giving him time to face and get over his demons
More of a mug then anything
@@Tricky181 some whopper you arenât you

The man himself ,legend and I think you need a part two and three ,thereâs still plenty of stories left đ
We fucking love you brother â€ïžđźđȘ
Hope you're doing well mate

Watched every episode (including patreon) and havenât commented before. This was excellent from you guys. Glad heâs in a good place now. Keep up the good work fellas.
Thanks Dave, and we appreciate your support on the patreon. Top man
What an episode!!
Fair play to him been so honest
Really glad heâs found peace
Top man!!
He joined Sheff United on loan in 2009 and immediately he stood out as a really talented winger, he even scored a brilliant long ranger in an early home game which helped him become popular with our fans. We thought we'd been lucky and brought in a top player, he only played a few matches for us (playing really well) then seemed to disappear from the 1st team and quickly left. A few years later he joined Sheff Wednesday on loan in league 1. My brother supports them and I told him they've got a top player. In early matches he told me he stands out and looks far too good for league 1. He only played a few matches for them too playing well but was sent back. Didn't realise he had off the field issues. Makes sense now.
Some ppl can drink others drink till they blackout...its such a shame because that 2-5 pint level is actually really enjoyable. Its knowing when to stop is the real fucking choker. Goodluck 2 anyone with a drinking problem, I'm finding it hard lately I can't just have one or 2 just end sitting there with randomers in the pub till closing, should be with my family enjoying there time. Not pissed up every other day.... Cheers lads watching these and the quizzes keeps me out the pub anyways, means alot x
This is one of best ones. You lads are getting very good at this.
Wasnât at all.
this and clarke carlisle, both a testament to how human the footabllers we idolise are.
Absolute quality episode. Remember him playing for Ireland was such a talent as a young player. Great to see him get his life on track and tackling his demons.
Alcohol is an enjoyable but very, very dangerous drug.Half the podcasts are funny stories of pissed behaviour but then we also have this...Good to see him looking so well
Was this any different??
This is absolutely brilliant and an eye opener to a lot of people Iâd imagine. Fair play
Fair play to him for being so open and honest ffs brutal shame he never got on top of his drinking.
If he was playing tht well half pissed he would of been a prem player if he stayed sober.
Love this lads. Youâre laughing your bollocks off one minute and trying to empathise with someone who has really struggled the next. The balance is superb. Right up there this one đđ» you give opportunities to those that have struggled to hopefully help others struggling. Nothing is unbeatable, well done Keith Treacy
Great Honest pod-cast from Keith. Thanks Lads !!!
Superb episode, one of the many fascinating characters in football. Keep up the great work guys. đđŸ
Excellent, as always.
Excellent pod. Good on Keith for laying it all bare
Literally
Love the channel lads. Always great shows, like the different perspective on this one. Good honesty đ
Terrific episode, absolutely loved Keith when he was with the Blades and was surprised he didn't go on to bigger things, but this is a good insight to the struggles he went through, glad he's doing better now. The final few seconds of this video gave me a good chuckle too hahahhaa
Great episode. Need a part 2!
What a talent. Great podcast fairplay Keith
What a brilliant platform for ex pros this channel is đđ» great to see keith doing well too!
Absolutely brilliant episode
A great watch that lads, really glad Keith has sorted himself out. Selling himself short at Wednesday, he was brilliant in that spell!
Made the difference with the free kick at Brentford.
As a North End fan, Keith was one of my favourite players. In that team with some of the players mentioned really made me love North End even more. Was gutted when he left us
Keith is a Legend. Full of positive energy. Greetings from the westđđđđ
One of the most naturally talented players I've seen at deepdale.. was gutted to see him leave.
Last 10 seconds, what a gem
The very last thing heard on the episode đ€Ł
He's doing well on the pundit scene in Ireland these days
top episode, great insight into his addiction and footballing career, one day at a time, wish you all the best fella
Real shame he never met his true potential, but just goes to show you never know what struggles people are going through personally.
Looking forward to this one, patreon episodes have been poor of late though,1 hour episodes last two times and big waits between episodes
Great episode- I didnt know anything about this but good.
Many a session had here in dublin with him and his bro, what a talent he was
Tuesday treat đđŒ
Yeah thanks for that
as a wednesday fan Keith will always be a hero in our eyes and the fact he probably did it pissed up makes it even better
Glad to see youre turning the corner Keith
best episode by far
I remember we (burnley) played Preston at the Turf, first season of relegation with Brian Laws as gaffa and they battered us, Treacy ran riot but we won 4-3. We had a chap around then on the board, who liked certain players (Brendan Flood, he bought us Eagles) and that sold him on Treacy. He clearly had talent but COULD not run at all. He had to chip the ball up the line for a front man to run onto, he genuinely didn't have the pace or fitness to beat a man. It was also common knowledge with fans he had a major drink issue and it sadly fizzled out. He did certainly have talent though, he is being modest when discussing Preston.
Wowzers - what a journey!
Seems like a nice fella. Speaks very well....Im sure whatever he wants to do in the future he'll do well
You guys pick some brilliant footballers, never heard of the guy but wow what a story đ
Loved him at wendesday was critical to us going up
'U must do better ' could cover all of Keith's career. Keith does a decent Trap accent.
Hilarious!! You Forgot the eggs and washing up liquid!! Plus the picture Keefo corn beefOOO ;) !!
Youâre stunning đ
Keith needs to write a memoir. It would be a best seller.
I heard that Treacy was sold to Burnley ( ÂŁ850k ) because Preston had cash-flow problems and Burnley agreed to pay the fee in full upfront .... Also, he'd had a blinder against Burnley the previous season, scoring one and setting up another, oddly enough for Jon Parkin ..
I remember that game well, great comeback for the Clarets to win 4-3 from 3-1 down with 10 minutes to go. I think that was the game the cameras panned onto the female Preston fan ripping up her programmeđ€Ł
@@juantanamera7798 That was it, Jay Rodrigues got a stoppage time winner ..
@@juantanamera7798 that game was actually my first ever Burnley game what a fucking game chris iwelumo hattrick. Coming from behind 3-1 to beat nob end was one of the best games I've ever witnessed
I'll never forget that corner he scored against Leeds! 4-6
I thought he was excellent when he come on loan to us more than a decade ago now and then donât know what happened to him, never saw him again.Once a Blade always a Blade.very honest lad, great podcast.
Really enjoyed that, I loved playing football as a young lad but never got anywhere for at the time it was everyone else's fault, manager's, parent's, teammates etc etc.. But now at 42 I understand that for a lot of people no matter how much they love playing football or how good they are at it , its the in-between that is the problem. Fair play to Keith for coming through the real side of his personal journey which in the end the football comes a pale second to the real gifts of life . Even G Best in his autobiography blamed the poor teams he was playing in for his lack of interest in football and his love for drink and women. You either have it or you don't and I don't mean the skill đ€Șđđ To some football is enough to motivate them and keep them ticking over in life to others it's a matter of life and death and to the people who understand both sides of the story it's much more important than that. đđ check out Jamie's new Album that's the real deal. GB you Keith .
only time he seemed to care about the football was di maria's offside goal đ
nice fella tho. was good to hear about dyche's man-management too since i'm a burnley fan, so never knew how that played out.
hope you keep your demons under control.
Such a shame he didn't get a lot of games him and Ross were bloody brilliant for us. I'm a Fleetwood claret
Top man.
Deep and honest fairplay takes balls to admit ur wrongs
Ah lads I hope you have him signed up for part 2. This was brilliant but I think there's more stories to come from him
Donât think he can remember them đ
Enjoyed his honesty, it was hard to listen to especialy the womanising and drinking, but hes turned his life around, good on him đ
I thought this was going to be a funny one. It got quiet deep. Sounds like he was very talented. Glad hes doing better now đ
What a story
Iâd never heard of Keith until I started watching this podcast. Such a shame really but looks like heâs in a good place now and his demons are conquered
He gives me George Best vibes! Great insight, grateful he turned it round
Great player was Keith gutted he couldn't stay at Burnley. Had his demons but glad to see he's in a better place now
Lads get Keith part 2 I think he can tell us more stories
How many episodes is there on patreon that have never been put on CZcams????
50+ episodes on patreon mate
Find you a woman like Keith's! 5 years dry is no joke. Hope the lad keeps it up for his sake and the sake of his family.
Great pod this boys. Won't be everyone's cup of tea but for me the emotional and psychological side of footballers at the top level is massively disregarded (fans act like the lads should be robots essentially) and really fascinating.
Frustrating but fair play for his honesty.
âItâs a good fun house like but itâs an expensive oneâ đđđ The little bald one comes out with some belters. Tickled me anyway
What a fucking crying shame for Keith. Hope his after football career gives him some success.
short but great time at wednesday
What was the answer to the question at the very end?
Good stuff lads, i had a girlfriend like that, she left me with crabs instead of prawns.
Easily the best đ
More serious than funny but still good
How could you leave it on cliff hanger at the end there?!
He was very very good for preston
Pity he didn't achieve more, definitely had the talent.
Mad that he retired at 26/27, had about 7/8 years left if he played his cards right
@@vanmarko6654 was that supposed to be funny?
@@JJSAX_ Not really "Mr Obvious"...
@@vanmarko6654 you should try stand up fella, too funny
@@JJSAX_ must have hurt your feelings đ„Č
The Newcastle result was 3-0 at SJP. Darren Ferguson came out after the game and claimed Preston battered usâŠ
1-0 at Deepdale Nolan scored with his left peg?
Parkin ' or enhance them ' đ€
Chris and the other fella faces and awkward silence lmao đ€Ł
Could have been a great Keith, was very good
Obviously he had major problems but still surprising that there was almost no football at all in the whole conversation, probably a good metaphor for where football was on his priorities at the time of his career...But still found it a bit strange he seemingly had no desire to discuss the football side at any point tbh....Good luck to him moving forwards though.
Hell of a pofdcast
Now there's an honest podcast for you!
I'm not sure if he played for Blackburn Burnley or Bournemouth that accent is so strong đ
Burnley and Preston North End
I hate to admit it but alcohol has robbed us of some many greats over the years.
Sorry to say I can only remember your football days vaguely, but hearing your recollections "I respect you as a man" honestly, truthful and funny.
Nice hearing your dry 5 years "proper professional " took me 40 years to wake up" keep up the good work and the jokes" should get yourself a good book deal pal
Why are you writing like that?
Back from the brink
I just really do not understand why so many players seem to throw away a dream career for the sake of going out all the time in grotty UK (& Irish) pubs. đ€·đŒââïž
because people are not perfect , some people are wired differently if everybody was the same life would be very dull, he still had a much better career than 99% of other professionals
The grotty spit n sawdust pubs are the best ones!
Allardyce managed us after Ince, he replaced him.
Morton Gamst Pederson only ahead of him because he could throw the ball??! đđđ MGP is a Rovers legend
You clearly had no idea how good this guy was
@@JJSAX_ One played 260 times in the Premier League and 83 times for his country.
The other played 12 times in the Premier League and 6 times for their country.
Absolutely no comparison
@@oves2006 Where did I try and compare them? Just said you have no idea how good he was... two different things
@@JJSAX_ The conversation in the interview implied that he was as good as MGP and the only reason he didnât get in the first team was because MGP could throw a football. Seems like a comparison to me mate!
@@oves2006 Mate he was technically streets ahead of Pedersen if he didn't have his mental issues hewoul've got over 100 caps for Ireland and played top 4
What was the photo?
Upside down heads points go absolutely nowhere
Can't believe he thinks he's gonna get ahead if pedersen with us he had no chance
He looks a lot slimmer now then when he was playing for us, wasted talent
Prawns đ€Ł
Prawns?? đ
Man looks like he has a beard only on one side of his face
