I watch a lot of different fishing and diy channels on CZcams but yours is the only 1 I ever give a thumbs up to. Not only do I like your content but it works. Love your channel.
That means alot , I really do appreciate you
when making your attachment loops for sinkers, lures, etc... put an allen wrench in a vice put the wire around it and insert the two cut ends of the wire into your drill and you'll get perfect loops and help prevent getting any barrel swivels caught in the twists. Love the videos!!!
Thank you . I'll try it that way . I really appreciate
I have using rock sinker for years. No drilling just use SS wire and wrap the rock. Then use crazy glue and baking soda. They will hold up great… no more lead in the sea.
I really enjoy listening to a fellow SOUTHERNER, with that country draw like me .
Best channel on youtube!!! Love the rebar sinker idea! I'll be making some tomorrow haha!!!!!
Hey its cheap lol thank you Sir
I used straws to make slip pencil floats for trout. Use hot glue or silicone to seal top, glue a small egg weight and barrel swivel in bottom. Casts real far, very visible, won't spook fish, and super sensitive to light bites. Caught 22" trout with one this past week drifting in current down a ledge.
Lots of great ideas! After fooling around with drilling holes in rocks, or trying to, I just epoxied the wire loop to the rock. It’s a lot simpler, and you get the same end result.
Thanks for the fun video
David
I should have done that too lol . Or got a diamond bit . But you don't know till you try . Maybe it'll save someone else so time lol
@@FishinNStuff you’re a good dude
I really appreciate that buddy . You seem like a great guy as well
all this is AWESOME!....thanks for the video...but i'll be buying weights locally lol. keep it up!
Me too . Some guys like making everything . Everyone is different . For what I do my preference is to buy or pour mine
Love your how to videos. Can't wait to try some of them myself 😊
I looked up “Awesome” on the Internet and the first thing that popped up was your CZcams channel 👍🏻
Lol Swweet lol
Hi, Your buddy from England here. If you know a tame Sparky (electrician) the wire from steel armour cable is soft and easy to work with. Wrap it to your stones and use hot melt glue. Saves all that drilling!
The rebar works well for trotlines. I use size 14 rebar. Sometimes you can get it for scrap price if you're not picky about the length.
That's awesome going to have to try some of these tricks, thanks for the great video!🎣🎣
I've Used Spark Plugs For 40 Years lol ,,Nuts Bolts , Railroad Spikes , Bulldozer Pins and Bearings , Old Pistons outta Blown up engines , lol ,, Car Rims For Trotline End Weights , You name it I've Sunk A Bait With It lol 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤷🏻♂️ Now That's Just Purty Dang Awesome Right There Y'all 🐟🎣🤠😁 Keep It Reelin Brother
Awesome! Good to see you back more often Keith!
I'm trying to stay consistent lol . Some of these videos take sooo long . I appreciate you watching them brother
@@FishinNStuff I love em all! Keep em comin brother and thankyou!
@@FishinNStuff My pleasure! I know we all love em. Can't imagine the time and knowledge it would take to make a video but you got it down right!
Thank you brother
Awesome video Keith. I liked those rebar weights I can't believe you didn't weigh that thing. Thanks for all the ideas and Thanks for taking the time to post these videos. Can't wait for the next one
I love your videos and creativity. Please keep making them... really enjoying.
Almost that time of year again! Can't wait!
Another awesome video, brother. U got some great hacks. Keep em coming. 👍👍
Your diy videos are the best!
Thank you brother
Great video. I have made stone sinkers for drop-shotting, and other times you expect to lose a sinker. Lead is toxic and I don’t like leaving it in the water. But I had to use a diamond tile drill to make the hole. Even then it took some time. I had a go at making some slinky (dragging) weights. I used flat nylon boot laces and 8mm steel ball bearings. I closed the lace end with a lighter and pliers, like you did. We don’t commonly use slinky weights in Australia, but I wanted to try them on the ocean rocks, to see if they were snag resistant. 🤓🎣
It does take time but . They sure look cool 😎 lol
Yeah there`s some good looking Sinkers enjoyed it.
I made several of the step bit weights after that video posted, works awesome! I really like the rebar weight for my next one. Lead is getting hard to find. Thanks for the awesome videos brother!
Awesome , Awesome hacks. I made the pyramids and im gonna make the shrink tube drag sinkers! Keep it up buddy!
Love your videos ❤️. Have made a lot of your hacks and saved me a lot of money. Even the hacks that I don't need i find a lot of other uses for some of them like using the drift weights to help pull electric lines in walls with only e small drywall patch at the top to fix instead fixing the hole wall. Keep the great videos coming.
That's always the most important part the ideas . I always know a good video , if it makes me say ....hey that gives me a good idea 💡 that's what DIYs are all about
Those were awesome thanks super K that reminds me I need to make some
Very nice work as always! Love and blessings man!
You too I appreciate it
Freakin Awesome! Really Enjoying your style of videos😊👍👍
Thank you
Great video! I love hacks! Creativity made real.
You got some good ideas Brother. I really do appreciate these videos in the time and effort you put into them. It helps us fisherman on a budget make some really quality fishing gear and pole holders. 🤜🌟🤛
🐠🐟🐋🦀🦞🦐🐙🦀
Thank you Sir I appreciate you taking your time to watch em
Great ideas 💡. I particularly like the reo bar sinkers and the river rock sinkers. I just think the ocean 🌊 has enough plastic in it for the time being. The fish 🐟 also have enough lead in them too.
Calm down all you haters… I am just an old dog trying new tricks… trying to teach my son.
I cast cannonball weights, 1-2-3-4 ounce sizes. But fishin in the Colorado River recently, I was wantin for some no-roll weights. I found I can pound a 4 ounce cannonball flat and get a nice no roll 4 ounce about the size of a silver dollar. I used my double jack sledge hammer and a piece of steel plate as my anvil. So there you have it, sinker hack #14.
I had that planned for my next hack video lol . It's a great idea
Good stuff as always bud!!!
Sticking brad nails or finishing nails into a swim worm works well too
Your DYI’s are freaking awesome!
Thank you
Awesome fishing weight hacks 👍🎣. The best is using river stones, as look natural to the surroundings. Some fish like carp & catfish, can pick up the electro magnetic field. That steel & lead weights give off.
Love those ideas. Gonna make it alot cheaper for sure.
I really like that rock sinker, it's nice.
Cool stuff! Try your rock in a bucket of water using a diamond burr, just don't use a pointy burr.
That makes more sense lol
If I can say...that was "AWESOME "
Thank you awesome. Enjoyed it
Another great video , thanks ,
Gotta love those rock n roll sinkers! I've been thinking about getting some 1/4" hollow core lead to make some smaller slip sinkers. I hope it'll work!
I've been wanting to get some and experiment with it too
like always, your videos are awesome
Hey you ever try a hole in a little rock and a piece of surgical tubing? When hung up the tubing stretches and gets skinner, an the rock pops off
"Rock" solid idea lol
Got to try the rock sinker hack!
I've been making slinky weights with paracord and buckshot for many years to fish for salmon and steelhead.
Great hack there going to have to try !! Tried to find aluminum for the rod holder but no luck here !!
That puddy you can use on lewers and make them dive deeper or give them better action iv ben doing it for years u can also add it to ur line for a sinker I keep a tube of it in all my tackle boxes
That's a great idea
Try the rocks again but use a hammer drill. Concrete typically has rocks in it and a masonry bit always works but only with a hammer drill.
I don't know how they do it in the States, but here in Europe, they use lead flashing where the roof meets the masonry, and also around window frames.
I love that stuff, for dyi sinkers. You can even wrap it around the shank of a hook for dyi weighted worm hooks, so you can make them whatever weight you want.
It's getting rare, these days, but sometimes when they take down an old building, you might be able to get your hands old lead drain pipe. Awesome for ring sinkers or flat sinkers, or to melt down for sinkers or ammo casting. There's a lot of weight in that stuff. Inch n a half diameter weighs about 3-4 pounds a foot, iirc.
A lot of the lead I buy for scrap is from old roofs too . I never get lucky enough to find it for free lol
Thanks my friend.
I would recommend old pallet wood nails for the weights you made with BBS or you can just use the nail on its own, tie to the top of the nail for dropshoting or use it as a neko rig weight
Great video
New to your channel..love your videos..so many great ideas 👍👍
Thank you I appreciate that
Great info thanks
Awsome as always
See you on next one
👍👍👍😜🏴🦕🦄😁🤞✌
Ta-day I learned a bit.... Use sand or pebbles in the tubing idea, even tiny ball bearings , when at the dollar store go to arts and crafts area for the rocks that go in your aquarium. I like the glow in the dark plastic style because in slower water they work great for cats and walleyes, plus they are easier to drill into ,plus they bounce along covering more water.,....washers have always worked as a sinker for me ever since I was a kid.,. Slinky rigs are the right way to say it, here in Canada we slinky rig and paracord with tiny ball bearings. Orange is my favorite.....
Good ideas 💡
AWESOME!!! AWESOME!!!!!!
Sinker hacks that are AWESOME!!!
Lmbo
I really like the stones. Economically and environmentally the stones rocks. May god forbid it, but if the lines should break, the stones ends back home where they comes from. It's awesome.
I agree
LOVED YOUR VIDEO. My son in law has like 40 or more rod and reals. Just brought home a 37 lb salmon Sunday, fishes all the time. He'll be interested in your video. Blew my mind when I saw how much he was spending on lead weights. OMG, nothing like when I was a kid living in Coos Bay Oregon, wasn't a limit on nothing. Walk out to the pier and toss a net over and pull it up with a King Crab. I miss them days!
I've got some videos on making your own lead molds too
That's just awesome!
Lol
Use the slinky weight latex tubing to hold a bolt or finishing nail. I have never got heat shrink tubing to work. But it my be the cheap HF tubing I have.
that a good heck for the large fishing poles using the broom holdeds .i need aset for myself .
Always entertaining
Thanks!
I love using suspended bobber rigs with heavy weights, or a drop shot with a half ounce weight tied to a double surgeon.
Great hacks going to have to try !! I did try to find aluminum for the rod holder hack but had trouble finding some tube around here !!!
Tube is hard to find here too . I have to buy it new most the time
@@FishinNStuff ok so what is the proper size of tube inside diameter wise ?? Length I can figure he he he !!
The slinky weight is paracord and buck shot. We call the roll of solid core or hollow core pencil weight. We use them for drift fishing salmon and steelhead. Love your videos keep it up
Thank you for clearing that up . Catfishermen call em drift weights , dragging weights , slinky weights , all kinda stuff lol . I appreciate you brother
You can get a slinky weight kit to build your slinky weight it comes with a funnel and ram rod to load your shot easier. It makes it a lot faster
@@elkhunter6746 the funnel would be cool . I use a bamboo skewer as a ram rod and it did pretty good
I found it on amazon but there's only one in stock it's from rainbow fishing tackle. They sell them at all the stores around here. Get a look at it and you should be able to make something similar that will work fine
Sorry the brand is riversnake slinky maker
Hey man i love your channel and videos there so good and funny
Thank you Sir
No problem
Great hacks!
Awesome hacks !!!
Love your videos. Rocks probably good except for faster water. I once observed a poor soul trying to use one in river, he would have needed half a brick to reach bottom. Gave him some lead. Also you can get pliers made to cut lead wire that leave the hole intact. They can also flatten wire and then punch a hole through the flat you just made. In an emergency I once made a 'split shot' out of a half inch long piece by cutting it half way through with my knife.
I made this video for the guys in the states with tough lead laws
AWESOME
That was Awweesum!
Using stones for sinkers might be a good idea when you got those finicky fish that won't bite when anything somewhat unnatural is around.
Your right . More natural presentation
Pretty cool 😎;! I being a Ironworker like the rebar one. In fact I made a lot of them one time. I cut up a bunch of # 6 es, 7,and 8 that’s the size of the rebar . About any where from six- nine “ long at a 45 degree angle on each end. Then I drilled a hole 🕳 at each end then I put key ring’s on , they looked like diamond sinker jigs ! Panted them up different colors
And they actually work, I take them deep 🌊 sea fishing 🎣 put a big ole treble hook on there and catch a big ol lingcod !
Those sound like they look good . I love quality work . But I understand sometimes it's not important at the Sametime
Friken Awesome !
U r Just the best
If ya going to a garage to look for spark plugs ya might as well ask if they got any old clip on wheel weights.
That's right
Me and my buddies used to use railroad spikes as kids because we wished along a train track which is pretty common along a river lol
I beat john 🎉Thanks for the remainder.
Can't wait to meet u at catcon
If u want your bait to skip along the bottom, throw on a bobber at appropriate depth setting then 6 in. Up from the hook make a "shirt button" pattern with three or more split shot. Save you some snags especially if ur river fishing. Keep those tips up fellas and ladies! See u out there!
It just amazes me when I see people from all over the world enjoying your great videos. You must be so proud. Thanks for all your hard work and keep them coming. I also wanted to know if you are doing any winter (cold weather) cat fishing?
Thank you , because it Amazes me too lol . My favorite time to catfish is winter and spring but I haven't got to do that much this year . I'm struggling just staying constant with with and my videos . But spring is coming and I love spring equally as much lol
Totally agree,,from South Africa
Great hacks
I made sinkers useing a rock wrapped in a piece of paper bag tied with cotton string it will last a hour or more before paper falls apart and no pollution great for bottom fishing in snaggy water, and u can make almost anywhere
Hey love ur video but i wana see some fishing now😆
Koolest 😎👍👍👍👍👍
I keep my weights homemade and cheap almost free, I take any old rock assorted sizes flat works better for Rivers cuz it does not roll, Take 6 or 8 lb test line make a slipknot choke it up on the Rock and put a blob of five minute JB Weld then put a loop in it and there's your weight no expensive swivel a snap swivel is placed on your main line so you can add or subtract weight...
Rockin'
We used to use spark plugs and rebar for duck decoy weights when we were broke.
I liked the rebar weight
I made sinkers with 7 to 8 of 1/8" bolt and i weld and fill up with welding all the way to the top and it was super heavy and it works super. Still thanks for the tips.
Thank you for the tip buddy
Wondering where you been, was watching your old vids all night last night.
I posted one last Sunday and the week before . Christmas made things hard then I got sick but I'm good now
Leave some wire length on the rock sinker wires to fold back and jam in the hole. Gives the epoxy even more to grab onto.
Keith, your videos are…..”Awesome”. And your Awesome. Dallas aka Polebender on CZcams uses rocks for weights because of loosing so many in the water she fishes.
That's cool
Sinker hack # 🖐 six 😂 😂 😂
what about using sand? wouldn't it be heavier if you wet it too?
