Sorry, if we did not respond to you back 6 months ago when you reached out to us. It’s probably because we sometimes get questions from people posing as someone from another leather tannery trying to learn our secrets or a competitor boot/bag company trying to learn about our customer’s company/products. We also do not normally interact with folks that are not directly buying our leather. We normally explain the leather to our customer and let them explain it to their customer. Kind of like, if you by a Ford F-150, you wouldn’t go to the steel manufacture and ask them about the steel used in the Ford, you would go to Ford and discuss with Ford. Regardless, I see that you have a good following and you don’t appear to be trying to learn about our leathers to be nefarious, so I’ll answer your question here. " I won't put their information in case it's proprietary, but basically Limerick is a combo-tanned pull up leather, chrome base tannage and then veg re-tanned and waxed.

I tried on a pair of Truman java waxed leather boot, gorgeous boot, however, it hurt my instep and where the foot meets the leg. Too bad I was looking forward to owning a pair but the break-in period would have been hell. Those Seidels look really nice.
How is the fit on foot? i've heard conflicting reports of Truman boot sizing (some say to stick true to brannock, others say to go down a half). And how is the last - snug, roomy? any arch support?
Just curious about sizing, I’ve watched your bootreview about the Iron Rangers. Did you order the same size of Truman boots as the iron rangers? By the way, I own the iron rangers, I’ve never ordered any Trumans thanks for any info you share with us 💪🙏
The leather looks a lot like Natural Chromexcel to me. Does Seidel have a known cxl equivalent or is it possible this is pretty close? Good choice with the rawhide laces, the dark/light really pops with that leather. Is that a Spyderco knife for the unboxing…you have excellent tastes.
It’s waxier and oilier than CXL in my opinion. Very similar to their own Double Shot which is meant to be “like” CXL but I find it waxier on the surface.
@Bootlosophy thanks , isn't the fit quite snug ? Boot looks normal on the width but once I put my foot in it feels narrow maybe the 20 lasts is better for me

Yeah the double shot is way nicer than CXL, more supple and better grain break.
I have been looking at these boots for sometime, where did you find seconds or slightly used boots? There is no information for that on the website.
These were in their once a year seconds and samples sale. Email them to ask when they plan one for 2023

Yes I got 8 in both (8D in the Truman). I found the Truman 8D a little roomier in the toebox, but not that you’d complain.
