    Thanks for video. I'm not Asian but we have a rice cooker, lol! Most Asian dishes are tasty but very salty so limit my consumption! Just ordered a Denso fuel pump kit from Rock Auto for my '97 Celica GT convertible, was less than $100 with shipping so not too bad. Watched your video on fuel filter replacement, what a gigantic PITA that was, will use the same flare wrenches. New fuel filter did improve things slightly but I am still getting a very mild bucking and stuttering. I've noticed it becomes a bit more apparent when cruising up hills especially as you near the summit (plenty of hills here in PA), this to me suggests fuel pump is going out. Obviously I could do a pressure reading to verify but I don't have the tool, but with 231,000 miles I reckon the original pump is nearing the end of it's life anyway. Obviously I have done the easier stuff, air and fuel filters, spark plugs and wires, added fuel injector cleaner, replaced PCV valve, cleaned throttle body, new distributor and rotor arm, checked head gasket and checked for vacuum leaks, I think everything now is pointing to the fuel pump. If not maybe MAP sensor, will see!

    Did you replace the gasket around metal plate holding the full pump in tank?

    Nice tutorial as usual. Is this the same or identical steps for a 5th Gen st185?

    You put the new filter on the old pump, Installed old pump!?

      hi, Yes I did. It turns out the filter was just dirty and the pump was still working properly so I kept the old pump. However, the engine hesitation was some vacuum lines that needs to be replaced.

      Hi, if you’re in ca. you may have more luck of finding one at the junkyard and get the parts you need. Looking online will be a challenge as these cars are hard to come by.

      Hey, I have a question about where you got those taillights for yours? They don’t look like stock and I like them, but I can’t find any good sources to get new ones.

    Does it matter how to wired the pump?

    • @charliexiong6541
      @charliexiong6541  Před rokem

      Hi, yes it matter. Positive to positive and negative to negative. Both wire may look green but one is lighter green and the other is darker green. I don't know why Toyota don't use red and black wire.

    You put the old pump back in with the new fuel filter.....

      Hi, I only replaced the filter because the pump still works. The filter was just really dirty. However it was some faulty vacuum lines that cause the motor to have low idles.
