- In this video I discuss all the signs and symptoms of a failing vehicle's fuel pump. If you're experiencing intermittent stalling, no start, hard start, start and stall there is a good chance you're dealing with a bad fuel pump. Also, I discuss all the possible causes, problems and how to check for a bad fuel pump i.e. checking fuel pump fuse and relays, connection, wires and to listen for buzzing noise. When the fuel pump is on its way out it should be replaced as soon as possible.

Best video content on fuel pump failure causes and how to temporarily find a quick solution to get home. The mallet (in my case a wooden stick) method worked PERFECTLY to re-energise the pump and get me home! YOU ARE THE BEST!..... many, many THANKS!!!!

Thank you for explaining everything really well. This is exactly what’s happening to my truck. My low fuel pressure light came on a few weeks before my car stopped on me. It won’t crank, it was stalling, it kept turning off on me especially on red lights. I bought a fuel pump and I’m getting it changed out today.

Heres my priblem on 1999 jeep Cherokee limited 4.0
Cranks winderful on cold/ first start. Drive one mile to gricery store then wont crank unless i put it all the way on the floor.
I stomped it on way home and it took off, no hesitation ran right on up to 90mph.
Pulled in driveway, cut it off for about 30 seconds, tried recranking and again it wont start unless i press it all the way to the floor.
Got a pressure guage and when ideling it shows 48 pounds. Opening up throttlebody slowly by hand and fuel pressure goes up some.
It goes dead/stalls at the stop sign when i try to take off. Have to.put it on floor again to start. After cranking for about 10-15 seconds it cranks but runs rough for a few seconds i suppose because it received so much fuel when i had it on floor.

Very good presentation about this common problem thank for taking time to make this video..How low is has to be the fuel pump pressure for an SUV to start running bad,the pressure for my chevy tahoe 2002 flex fuel is between 48 and 55psi but it has 44 psi ,Do you thing those 4 psi are important for the car to run well,It has code 0174?I sometime 0171,0300..subscribed as well.

The issue im having is my air fuel ratio is dropping and going back up after filling up with fuel the rpm is also dropping at the same time my car also shakes when the rpm and air fuel ratio drops. I did replace the purge value and o2 sensors and a new map sensor. The engine only stalls when in park after getting fuel. After i take off the car starts to go back to normal. Im thinking it has to be the high pressure sending unit.

I just changed my spark plugs in my 2004 pajero petrol.
After changing the spark plugs the car does not start.
What may be the cause please?

Wow ever time I put gas in my car and start it.. it cut off after a long crank before cutting on. Also I have to push the gas pedal for a few seconds before letting go so the car would stay on. Then today turned it off then tried to cut the car back on and all it did was tried to turn on. Took me an hour before it started. But yea having ever symptom

Crankshaft position sensor is the first thing to check. Symptoms of that sensor failing are the same as fuel system problems.

I been confused. I’ve been driving my car and it just completely stalls and shuts down. But the dash lights and such are on. It stalls won’t turn over and I wait about 10 to 20 mins then starts up again.
Next time when the vehicle stalls, spray starting fluid in the intake. If it starts right up then you know it's a fuel delivery issue most likely a failing fuel pump motor.

would a fuel pump issue also cause the fuel gauge to stop working
That’s the sending unit. It shouldn’t be directly related to a fuel pump issues

If the low pressure pump fails will it cause the high pressure pump to break????

My car is idling bad at the lights after going up hill
Transit in tank fuel pumps always suck up muck and water wax
So this means the diesel filter clogs up as well
So if your transit van runs for 2 miles and then cuts out or hard to start
Its the filter blocked on the head of in tank fuel pump
Its so easy to drop the fuel tank on transit only two bolts and to clips and fuel tank is out then just unscrew fuel pump
Its best to do this every year or so

If car randomly stall engine dies remove the key starts back on specially when downshiftting and quick turn

My highlander 05 has a bit of loss of power, and sometimes something bucking or shaking in the front. Sometimes jerky at certains speeds. Good compression, timing belt new and good, new spark plugs and coils. Has 02
Sensor codes, exhaust leak and sometimes random misfire codes.. even po0016 crank/cam shaft position sensor correlation. I don’t know, any ideas ?
I routinely drive until fuel tank was on reserve and this had my car fail
