    Thanks for all the great videos of skate sessions and product review. I ended up getting a pair of Next 110's and I absolutely love them. Inline skating is not too popular here in Monterey, CA. but I have been getting smiles and waves from Cali-folks that rolled in the 80's & 90's. I explain that they are still a thing. :-) Having a great time exploring our small skate parks and urban surfaces! Thanks again.

    As an owner and also a reviewer of the 110 version that you didn't mention here, I will give the 110 version strong 9.

    • @Daniel-dj7fh
      @Daniel-dj7fh Před 2 měsíci

      I'd assume they don't make a lot of a difference, the bigger the wheels the more clearance, but also more flex when carving since the torque on the bearings are higher due to the longer arms.

  • @mayakyen3695
    @mayakyen3695 Před 3 lety +3

    I was hoping you'd talk more about the 4 wheeled ones u have there. ☺
    I love how in depth u r! I'm a born again skater lol (I skated a little back in the 90s on cheap rec skates. But now I wanna get serious.... its so easy to become addicted to this activity)
    A month ago,, I bought the 5th elements st 80mm as a starter urban skate and I loved it for the rockered frame agility for tight turns and spins. But the boot is a bit uncomfortable for me after an hour. Still too much room and I bought the most snug fit. I like a skate that feels like it's molded to my foot but doesn't squeeze it.
    So now I feel like I'm ready for an affordable( around or under 280$) upgrade that I can travel further distance while on urban terrains. I like the urban skates alot for my style and would like to be able to skate thru different cities near me without feeling fatigue or discomfort n my feet, while also performing some light tricks and jumps.
    This trinity frame got me excited though. I wanna try it to see if it's better than what I have.
    Love your tutorials and free flow rides. You are an awesome instructor! In fact u were the 1st one I clicked on to learn all the basics from lemons to compass turn stop. Thanks so much for the videos you post here! I look forward to more!!!

    Really good skates. My normal size is 42 slim ,bought 42-43 and fits perfect. The skates are fast with great steering capabilities, good cornering. I like boot adjustement and design. Frame doesn't look strong. Highly recommended if you can afford.

  • @gregorywandersaround6178
    @gregorywandersaround6178 Před 5 lety +8

    It is nice to hear your explanation of the advantages of a Trinity mounting system. I had never quite investigated the reasons to make this system potentially beneficial versus other frames. That makes sense having that wider "connection" between your foot and the skate. It certainly sounds like a boost in power transfer with more precision-like control.

    • @RicardoLino
      @RicardoLino  Před 5 lety +4

      exactly and also making you skate a bit lower and feel less vibrations.. :)

    • @gregorywandersaround6178
      @gregorywandersaround6178 Před 5 lety +2

      @@RicardoLino Yes, another good point that you made. Distributing the vibrations more evenly translates to a longer ride for sure. I must admit that I'm becoming a bit curious about these. Once my FR1's start gathering a bit more road time, I just may step into the world of Powerslide.

    • @NikZvi
      @NikZvi Před 5 lety +3

      @@RicardoLino I have to disagree, from my feeling the vibrations are the same as with the simple frame or even more. I can't technically understand how the powertransfer could be better, but the vibrations lower. The boot and frame transfer both power and vibrations. It just goes from three points, not from two. But finaly they are the same. Also shorter distance from the surface to the boot and better fixation of the boot also transfer more vibrations, not less.

    • @Wanboali
      @Wanboali Před 5 lety +1

      That trinity mount is just another year for powerslide to push skate sales, because they cant normally happen with same skates technical capabilities including different looks for skates. Iam pretty sure it wont lower vibrations due to more contact area to the boot plus the frame front mounting points are expanded to sides not above the frame, which makes me think its just lowering the skate height and fastens vibrations outcomes which can be plus or a minus mostly depends on person feet size and height ;)

    Remember, you helped me choosing the right size with the Next. (I have narrow feet and normally 45-46) I have the 44-45 now and on one side it was really tight, but after some gentle heat treatment it is just perfect. But in search for the ultimate boot fitting for my weird feet I have also tried Imperial boots and in combination with the Intuition liners. The Imperial is of course different in sizing but with the Intuition (size L) I have the most supportive skate with the 43-44 shell. So the down-sizing really worked. I have also tried the Intuition liners in the Next, but the heel lock is missing there. The Next shell and liner also doesn't have the expressed shape of the heel. But I think the Next version of Fat Boy is really better than on the Imperial.
    What I have also noticed is that my 3x125 Katana frame couldn't be moved enough to the inside on the Next. No such problem with the same frame on other boots though.
    And it was quite easy to loose a cuff screw and the corresponding rocker insert ;)
    Cheers!

    I found these to fit narrow towards the back half of the skate. Plenty of wiggle room for the toes, but I got intense pressure points on the inner sides of both feet. This resulted in unbearable pain after skating for an hour or so. Bummer. Most people say these boots are roomy, but in my case I should have probably sized up. I decided to just bang some 125mm GC frames on my Xsjados instead. lol.

    Thank you, this review was very helpful. I feel a bit better about my blind purchase. Because it is nearly impossible to find a shop where you can try on a wide variety of skates here in the Midwest United States, I did a few days of research and talked to approximately 10 different people before deciding which 2 skates I was going to buy with the intention of sending one back. I previously bought the Rollerblade Twister XT and was incredibly dissatisfied with the weight/balkiness and it did not fit tight enough around my leg. After returning the RollerBlade Twister XT, I decided to go with the PowerSlide Next Core 80 and the Phuzion Argon 80. I anticipate probably sending one of the skates back because my guess is that the Next Core will be the preferred skate. I will follow up after I've tried them out next week when they arrive and let you know which one I prefer.

    Back to the subject here... I started skating in 92’ with Rollerblade Aeroblades with 4x80’s. Went through the aggro scene etc. and have been off and on over the years but have always preferred a flat setup.
    I now have Razors SL’s that feel the most comfy with my very wide feet. Considering a Tri setup and these Next blades look nice. I may do a 4x80 or 3x(?)... Just haven’t decided yet. I intend to keep the Razors for the park setup.
    I am torn between rolling the dice with Next or something like the Razors Cosmos since it can swap around easily also with the GC frames. I’ve read that they aren’t as wide as SL’s though.
    Any input from anybody is greatly appreciated.
    Cheers from South Carolina, USA.

I was really interested on these skates, specially with a 3x100 or 3x110 setup... until I heard about the dual sizing that goes 44-45 as I wear size 44 and like the skates to fit as snug as possible. I'm afraid the Next would be too big for my feet. My FR1's feel perfect in length but I do feel them a bit wide for me. Will Powerslide ever renew the Imperial boot and add a Trinity mount on them? I have wider feet and am a bigger guy(over 200lbs) i have skated my whole life tho and am not a beginner...i just want a solid pair of skates that i can cruise and play hockey in and skatepark...i have always had the 4/80mm setup my whole life but am interested in the speed of the three wheel like the 3/100mm. But i am just not sure...please respond on what you think please!

    hey Ricardo , Nice review , I got the 110 s and I got 40/41. I size 42 normally , massive mistake , they were way too small !!! , i measured my foot according to the site's (where i bought them) sizing chart and it was wrong, so I sent them back and I am now waiting for 42/43 that i hope will be ok !! So if anyone is looking to buy these skates be carefully not to go smaller than your shoe size !! ( I must admit when i did get them on they felt really stable !! iIm used to 84 wheels and didn't feel any difference in Height -)

    I'd love cruising around here but I sincerelly don't know what the best inline skate option would be. Next SUV maybe?

    I ordered them, size 40-41 although I am a size 39 (25 cm long feet), because I read everywhere that they fit narrower feet. There is almost 2 cms space at the back when I take out the liner. The liner itself is about 1 cm too long. So I am thinking about ordering 38-39 to compare. What do you think ?

    Amazing review!
    I noticed you mention carbon boots for the support. I am going to buy some skates for traveling around town, the ground can be uneven so there will be a lot of bumps and vibrations involved.

    How does the Liner compare against the one built in into the Swell? My problem is that my Swell is really tight on my right, outter ankle (my ankle gets pretty swollen after a while), and I figure I might need a more comfy liner. Could this skate be a proper replacement for my Swell? I do 20 to 40 Km cruising. Could you imagine this skate as a fitness skate?
