With the percent curves however, it is not unlimited, the shield will eventually break, but the durability does not increase, it remains exactly the same

Unbreaking just gives a chance for every 1 durability damage induced to not do it. Higher level, more chance. The fact that it can 1 shot your armour is extreme to say the least, even with unbreaking. Imagine the damage it does!
I think the strength thing kinda ruins it the warden won't break a shield like that cuz he naturally doesn't have strength 255. I love how ppl show things like look it's all vanilla then use command blocks ect. And even dumber is the ppl who see it and go hmmm useful like it's part of survival.

You can get a similar effect when fighting a horde of magma cubes/slimes, the shield doesn't have a cooldown for contact damage so every game tick it gets damaged, breaking it in like two seconds (AND IT KILLED ME IN MY NETHER SURVIVAL PLAYTHROUGH)

I’ve been able to break a shield pretty darn fast in normal survival, not as fast as in this video of course, but a good second or two. Basically you mine out a large flat area underground, dig like a 3x3 area under the floor and cover it up, wait for a large slime to spawn that’s stuck in place from that hole but goes though the hole, hold the shield and walk into it and it should repeatedly nock into your shield, since it’s stuck in place and doesn’t bounce back. Also it’s bedrock edition.
Don't forget that you can just tower and tunnel and then now him to death or just use tnt against him. He is that easy to kill. I think Mojang should just straight up give him thorns so that players would actually just try to avoid him.
With Unbreaking 3, the shield can now withstand 2 hits from the Warden 😂

resistance adds 20% damage reduction per level so anything beyond resistance 5 has no further effect
Actually past 127 or 128, resistance starts to go the opposite way if you leave and join back

you can also put a lot of skeletons next to you, and block with shield. then its even faster
