I think you get it, AK. It's more fun to ride a slow bike fast than a fast bike slow. 😃👍
Rick Rudge sub to KevSoLitty for scooter vids
I have 3 bikes. My blackbird and my t-sport have over 20x the displacement. My zuma can get groceries and be back in the garage before the harley is warmed up enough to take off the choke. Heh.
A quick 2 stroke scooter is more fun in traffic and around town than a motorcycle. Such funny little machines. Rode some really quick mopeds around in hawaii for a week and it was some of the most fun ive ever had on 2 wheels. Makes me want one for dinking around in town myself now..
Do it man. I'm 23 and still ride mine I bought when I was 16. So much fun. People will make fun of you until they try one, and then they'll want one. Super cheap to own, insurance and registration are peanuts
" scooters are stupid" quickly turns into "oh wow these are stupid amounts of fun". it's very common.
Bought one for 120 bucks..best 120$ ever spent 🤘🏻
John O'Brien wtfffff how
John O'Brien how so cheap
luckyyyyyy
Lol i bought one for 220$ and put 12 thousand miles on it before i traded it for a Durango. Three years later ive got the old zuma back for 240$ this time. She isnt as pretty anymore but im restoring it! Ill make a video soon.
@@blickmoto I looked up this video because someone I know is currently selling one for $500 I've never owned anything two stroke but I this thing looks dope.
I have a 2002 Zuma 50 and I just put 40,000 miles on it been commuting it back and forth to work for 12 years now
Jason Robbind what’s your speed?
2008 BWS 100, bought in 2010, just passed the 10 year mark. My daily work commuter. 40 minutes each way. Great scooters!
@@basile2702 my stock 04 will do 40 with knobbies and 43 or so with road tires. Limited by gearing, the 08-11’s had higher gearing and if you derestrict em theyll do 50- 52 mph
I have been riding my Zuma 2 for years. I don’t have a big bore but it’s still fun.
I did not do the big bore kit on mine , just did not make since after I saw what it would do with the roller waits " I did a mix of black and blue " , clutch springs " yellow " and the Leo Vince muffler " remove the restricter " also there is a throttle block that has to be ground off as well as the needle jet can be set on 1 of 3 slits I went with the middle one if you use the lower slit it will give you more gas " go faster / you won't need it " . I think that was all I did ... that I can remember ;) Oh yeah the headlight mod where both lights are on with high and low beams " it's just a daisy chain type deal " . All of this was done in like 2 and a half hrs. so well worth it . Mile age is GR8 gets like 220ish for a gallon and a half. I put oil in once every two months but it never needs it I just top it off . It's a 2009 or 2010 I can't remember atm any way last model of the two stroke Zuma 50 . I have a friend that imported a 125 two stroke he will not come off of it I have tried for yrs. to buy but he won't sale it .
i love how excited you are riding this little beast
Great vid! Honest and completely enjoyable commentary, man. I've got a 2 - 2 stroke scooters, a Zuma 50 heavily modified (not my work) and Vino 50 unmodified (except simple exhaust bore/variator spacer removal). They're fun. Thanks for posting and leaving up.
I rented one of these while on vacation and had a blast. Looking for one online now. I think it can get away with a lot more than more serious bikes, like the guys at the rental shop encouraged me to bike through a park on the pedestrian path, and I did it without any complaints from people.
This was a great video, thanks for sharing. I have been looking at getting a modified Zuma and thought it would be a blast to ride. It's good to know someone else thinks it's fun as hell too.
Been driving my BWS "Zuma" 100 for 10 years. Just put in a Malossi Big Bore kit "124 cc" with PHVB 22 carb and modified the airbox, added a Malossi dual layer foam filter and a Malossi racing reed valve. Breaking in the motor with a series of 5 minute warm ups and will do some slow rides "only up to 60 km tomorrow to let the rings seat. Can't wait to drive it to work on Monday. I normally drive 80 km hitting 90-100 with the stock 100cc motor.
Wish we had the smoker 100s here in the us. They look like a blast!
And the expansion chamber there is a gem. adds great power.
Sweet .. I only genuine scooter company buddy 50 the last of the two strokes allowed into the United States... I took off the catalytic converter exhaust and put on a scooter works non-catalic exhaust system wow I do an honest 40 mph on level ground (45 mph indicated on speedometer).. two strokes are the best! I wish I could find something like an old Yamaha 500 twin two-stroke motorcycle like my dad used to have..
this is what I just bought a Yamaha Zuma the guy said it was back when Zuma's were fast it's a two-stroke the videos very helpful can't wait to pimp out my zoom
It's been nearly 3 years but is this Zuma still there? I wouldn't mind riding it. Maybe I'll bring my Zuma to be outfitted with nearly the same mods.
You made these look so fun, I just bought one but it needs a speedometer cable, do you know where I can get one/how to replace it?
Getting a 2005 BWS 50 tomorrow, electric starter doesn't work.
the oil pump is broken, but that's not a problem for me, i'll just to it myself.
For 550$ CAD, it's a great deal, can't wait! :) :) :).
mint o i buy the yamaha spy (cw50rs bw) for 500 only the oil cable have hole only this) nice..
Such a sick scooter! I wish they kept them 2 strokes!
Lol I've been subscribed to you for like 2-3 years I think and this is probably the 3rd video I've ever watch of yours! It's not that idont like your videos I just never seen you on here in my subscription list of videos. Lol I think I follow to many people to not see any of your videos just until now Lol But I'll start to watch more of your videos from now!
This video is hilarious. The guy driving a bike is really funny. I might be getting me a bike too eventually. Thanks for sharing.
Thats cool that you enjoyed it that much i really dig mine just fun to ride
I had one of these with a 70cc kit, haha. Still pretty tame, and I had to get a proper motorcycle immediately.
Where can I find the mod list?
After a sec of revs it goes.
Called a centrifugal clutch my friend. gotta reach high enough rpm to make contact with drum to drive belt connected to variator.
Isn't that a mbk booster / Yamaha zuma 100ccm because the 50ccm look diffrent?
Love it! Zuma has that stupid fun about them
David Eich hey man u should look up KevSoLitty he rides a zuma
Yes they do...
I have a 2003 Zuma 50. How do you make it go fast? I have to ride in the bike lane or they will run me over!
when will you show us your motorcycle?
Thinking about getting one because I have my dirt bike when I actually want to rip
Do you have an air box and what jets are you running have same build and I'm having jetting issues thanks in advance
You need to let off the gas some once your rev limit is reached to allow the variator to keep pace. Otherwise youll hit max speed and just hear murrmurrmurrmurrrmurrmurr as you poot down the road and your engine is doing more rpm than it needs to.
Dang I have the same scooter n I love it , mine has work done 2 but mine his about 45-50 and it gets up n goes but urs seems a little faster but they are fun af
What type of. Muffler. Do u have. ?
you should try to review a Vespa 300 gts they can do 80 mph top speed
How much 2 Stroke oil do you put in the tank
If you've enjoyed you're first scooter ride, try to test a 300cc one, like an Honda Forza or similar. Theyr'e able to do 140kph(~80mph) easily. And if you want something "different", look for a Yamaha X-max, the best sounding scooter you'll never find.
what kinda build does he got
how do u start it, i have one and it was passed down from my brother, it’s the same one, i don’t know how to start it
battery dead the compartment its at the footrest also it should have a crank for manual
I have a 02 or 05 Yamaha Zuma. And I can not start it up... it been like th it a for a hole year. So I need help bad to start it up ty
what those it do
i also have a zuma so i could help
I agree kinda slow, my vino (same base engine at the time) at its best was capable of 72miles an hour on the flat. 72cc liquid cooled, VM 22, Yasuni R, up gear, and stuffer crank.
Maverick Klotz damn, that's pretty fast for a 72cc bbk. I'd like to get mine a little closer to that. I got a 70bbk, 19mm carb, a couple different pipes, but both are about the same(Leo Vance, like the one in this vid, and a older technigas) polini variator kit, and a few other things I'm pretty sure I forgot. ..but anyways, yeah...I wanna go as fast as yours!😬
Haha, awesome video! I'm going to check out your other vids. Thanks!
What build setup do you have
What kind of gloves are these? I have a Zuma same model that isn’t tricked out at all and is still fun as heck. Love these little guys and this one looks amazing with the performance carb/exhaust.
What year
@@BigTyG35 09' -125
So awesome exact same one I have
This video makes me want a Zuma 50cc scooter so badly even more than anything else right now and then make it the world's fastest Zuma 50cc scooter on the planet earth on wich is completely my plan right now
I love my 08 Zuma yw50 I can't wait to modify it
My friend is looking to sell me his 08 Zuma 50cc scooter, not sure how much he's going to ask for it yet, ultimately, although free sounds like a good price. Did you purchase yours new or used, any mods? My friend took it to the mechanic to get a tune up, carry basket and adjust seat carry latch cause' he didn't hear from me right away. I am interested in purchasing after watching this video, plus I haven't driven in nearly a decade.
What gloves do you have? They look like a pair from Dainese that I've been wanting to pull the trigger on at cycle gear, but they're $300.
Mine were gloves by RACER. They were $250. Bought em a long time ago
+TheAK47s Thanks for the reply. I want to get the best glove I can with palm sliders. After I highsided in January my wrist were killing me for 2 months but I seems the price is worth it for the added protection. Thanks again.
I'm a short guy, 5'3" and I wonder if it would be hard to learn to ride that scooter....thank you in advance.
not at all, you'll fit great, they're easier to ride than a bicycle
How much did it cost?
Ive been saveing up for one, how much is it In New Jersey? And we're can I find one?
I found one in offer upfor 500 just today with 5k miles it's a blast bro
5:08 Can you drive there? Here they can only drive that in city cant even pu them tyres on highways or major roads
Only thing when you put the 70cc head on the two-stroke.. you have to add a cap of 2-stroke motor oil to the gas tank because the 2-stroke oil injector is made for 50cc does not give enough lubrication so you have to add one cap to each tank full.. not a deal breaker though
Or adjust the oil pump to increase oil
I HAVE 2008 ZUMA 50CC MY ELECTRIC PUSH START BUTTON DOTN WORK WHAT COULD BE WRONG
I would like to know the mods that were on that just bought one yesterday it tops out at that speed but I need just a little more and I'm happy wish I had bought the Zuma years ago just totaled my last scooter with the 80cc kit on it it was fast enough to break both my legs and my arm and for only riding this is Zuma for an hour yesterday I want to see if I can get more out of this one I'm already impressed with the Zuma please let me know where I can find a list of the mods that I can put on it thank you
glenn stucker Just go on scooter tuning. com and buy an engine kit. Comes with everything you'd need to make your Zuma like that one.
what year is this zuma...
idle still should be adjusted should be turned up higher right below where it makes wheel start to turn
Parts list?
are you ever gonna do your bike reveal
can u tell me the mod list
max speed?
OMG all the highschool kids here in Portugal drive those things! So funny to see mah bro AK driving one! AHAH!
:D
Can anybody tell me what kind of gas my 50 CC Zuma 2017
chevron with techron
Scooters are a lot of fun. Half the fun is how gutless they are surprisingly.
i ride a zuma 50 no mods
Alex Atrocity I can go 65 KPH on flat. Fastest I've gone is about 80 KPH downhill. Gonna upgrade it soon.
@@BananaMana69 so is that about 42 miles per hour
my '05 Zuma stock buried the speedo (no longer stock)
My stock 04 will bury the speedo too. Because the speedo tops out at 40 and stock theyll do 42-45.
Great video. What’s the weight capacity of these scooters?
about 200 punds by i have seen plp that over 300 on them
Mine is 04 and im pretty sure capacity is over 300lbs
315 lbs capacity according to specs.
could you do an test drive of the 2015 Zuma? (50cc,)
those are 4 stroke nowadays
Ding-ge ling ling ling.
yeah listen to that 2 stoke.
Damn, this thing is awesome! Thanks to this video I'm looking for a Zuma for me right now! Are all Zuma's 2-stroke??
I'm not sure but if you find one that is, it's amazing
+Arthur Sperotto no the new zumas or zuma fs are 4 stroke
good for you
The last year a Zuma 50 had a 2 stroke was on the 2011 model.
Man, I have a 50cc vento that punches out 53mph on flats no overange gearing...that thing should be way quicker on take off as well
That little lag is probably due to the CVT combined with smaller engine.
Yeah the cvt takes a moment to engage. A regular bikes usually does too but most wont notice as theyre doing the clutch engagement.
That lag is you hitting the power band
No it’s actually the centrifugal clutch engaging. Power band is just the part of the rpm range where it builds max power. Even you car engine has one it’s just vary broad. We used to have kids that would come into the shop and asked to buy a “powerband”.
It's the cvt one of the pulleys has a has a centrifugal clutch
Are they all oil injected the yamaha 50cc
Stock, yes. As is a Honda elite (until 2001). But, most often, when a bigger bore/cylinder is added, the oil pump cannot keep up with consumption. At that point, just remove the oil pump, tank and lines and go with pre-mixed fuel/oil
Anyone know what year this bad boy is cuz I want one
2004 i think.
This guy sounds like an adult teenager lol
When he's driving over 30 sounds like a leaf blower lmao 50 cc 2 stroke
Wow, 45 miles/ hour? really? Much faster than mine!
they could go up to 60 with some mods
I have had Gxr 750, 929's, Harleys and BMW 1200 RT but my BWS 50 puts a stupid grim on my face every time I ride........
Yep. Ive a few bikes too and as i mentioned the zuma can run to the local store and be back in the garage with groceries before the harley is warmed up enough to push in the choke. Heh.
i had a really light 50 and that thing pulled like a 80cc
I have a 2014 Yamaha Zuma 50cc I will be doing a review soon
Lol Ian it's me Your Cousin...
that thing needs a tune up probably valve adjustment and definitely a idle adjustment it should take right off as soon as you hit the throttle all I ride is my scooter and as soon as I pull that throttle I take off and its not good do go wide open everywhere it wears on your engine and really reduces reliability
+aoc leader doesnt have valves, its a 2stroke -_- n the reason it takes a bit to get up n go is 2strokes dont have a whole lotta bottom end power so once they get up in the high rpms where the powerband is they start working good
+Justin67987 May also be the centrifugal clutch having to spin up and grab. Source: Owned one.
I have the same problem. After it warms up it had the little lag taking off. Just got a clutch kit for it and have tried to adjust carbs and using different weights and springs in the clutch. Havnt been able to fix it, hopefully the clutch kit helps.
oil light for low 2stroke oil
"Were going to infinity" 🤣
What is the top speed
I saw that it's 52
I just got a Blue 2000 zuma 50 with: Leo Vince pipe, carbon reeds, big bore kit with lightened piston, larger cooling ports, shaved head, low resistance(Pirelli) tires, racing clutch, and more.
Chad, did you bypass the oil injection?
My friend that I ride with.. has a new $4,000 electric bike that actually does 55 mph top end! But he started bitching that I was giving it the throttle and letting off the throttle.. giving it the throttle letting off the throttle cuz I like the way the two-stroke sounds.. he was bitching about it saying that I was going to ruin my motor scooter 😂. I told him that's what the two stroke is all about ! it's meant to rev and make noise! ..
Dont forget smoke....they make a bit
@@robcampbell3235 I love the smell of two-stroke oil in the morning 😂
@@glenmones713 smells like victory
...or the nsr400 i always wanted haha!
sounds cool in parking garage
i have a 150cc dongfang scooter Ive been working on. its alot of fun to ride...when i can keep it running
I have 2020 125cc, fun.
Centrifugal clutch and variator drivetrain
10:40 Thats because they have centrifugal clutches. The clutch only "sticks" after a x number of RPMS. Since you dont have any clutch control...Oh wait 11:45 you figured it out by yourself ahah nvm then!
nice video
Louis le Canadien look up KevSoLitty for scooter vids
ok
I actually own this Zuma now. Small world
Fun little monsters. The miatas of motorbikes. Feel like youre doing 80 at 40.
I just need to figure out why mine Boggs down when I open up the throttle.
Chris Bailey rejet it
its clog open it and clean it also change the oil filter
Not much to look at but so much faster than a 50cc ruckus
how many miles these scooters last?
not long lol.
my zuma has 13,000 miles and still going
Cornelius Maximilianus 20-35k miles
I've had my 00 zuma 50 for almost 2 years. Treated like a full out pro mod dirtbike and its about to turn 11,000 miles. $13 piston kit, deglazed cylinder and mild porting around 9,500 miles. everything else stock, just keep air filter clean, run Klotz injector oil and run minimal ethanol fuel. Everything still works and it runs like a striped ass'd ape! hang it out around tight 90* turns 30 mph all day long. High end compact Bluetooth speaker blasting Pantera or Nelly everywhere I go. Custom black milkcrate ziptied and triple bungeed to the back rack caries all of my gear and equipment. It's far from a 450 supermoto but still fast enough around town to get into trouble if you dont keep one eye "glued" to the speedmeter. 2000 Yamaha CW-50; has to be one of the most rugged, quick an agile scooters ever produced. Mine pops up a woody about every time i give it throttle. Great machine, couldn't ask for more out of a 50cc. But if you did then she'd take it all
Mines at 18,000 and runs great. Just normal things that go out and had to replace one bearing in the clutch.
like the top comment says and I cant agree more, riding slow bikes fast is much better than fast bikes slow
I'm ur uncle boy
