I commend you for sharing the story about your brother especially when we consider there are over 100,000 people in the United States dying every year due to fentanyl alone. This was a message that took bravery on your part and much needed for people to hear. Blessings! BTW, I really like your channel and it has helped me tremendously. I have an old Four Wheeler that has been sitting for years and you just encouraged me to get it running!!!
Great job Bre. My deepest sympathies on your loss. Call the dog Lucky , because she is lucky to have found a kind caring person to look after her.
Thanks for sharing, personal loss is hard. Resurrecting the scooter is great, I loved the happy dance when it started up.
Hats off for taking in and rescuing the doggo, she looks like real sweetie.
Awesome video. Personal life story, professional mechanic advice and compassion for the less fortunate. The excitement when it started, priceless. Thanks for sharing.
You're a good person ❤ very caring
It says a lot about you, having the heart to take that dog in, not that we already didn't know. So happy you fixed that special scooter.
I’m sorry about your loss. I’ve been clean and sober since 2008 and since have been so thankful for everything for being sober. Since I’ve been clean we’ve had another child in 2010 and started a business and couldn’t be more thankful and grateful to god for everything.
You said the name yourself "Sweetie " and I bet she is glad she found you. Sad story about your dad. So sorry that that happened like that. Many other families have shared the same pain.❤
You have no idea how common stories like that are nowadays. Thank you for sharing. Substance abuse has effected many families, mine included, and I wish our government would do more to help people and not punish them. I really think a full effort from our government, families and organizations can elevate most of the horror stories we have to listen to. Thanks Chickanic.
Bless your heart in helping and keeping the dog. 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Wow.....just wow. Losing a loved one so unexpectedly sucks out loud. Kudos to you for sharing. That's what makes this channel more than just a repair site. Keep up the good work!
Always nice to hear an engine fire up after it’s been sitting a long time👏👏✌🏼
I’m a hardcore scooterist. I bought a Vespa P200e that had been in a warehouse for 30 years with only 79 miles. It was rusty and I replaced the tank and put a carb kit in and was off and riding. 15 years later still riding. Eventually had to reseal the engine and replace the carb with a 24/24. I had a Honda Met initially and found a club to ride with and breathing all that two stroke smoke, I knew what my next step would be. And now I have 5.
That first start up feeling of something firing off with some DIY enginuity from something that has not been ran in years never gets old😊
A big Like, for the rescue. 🙏
Losing people is hard beyond compare.
Carb overhauls, maybe a bit. But I was doing those pre-teen, so I guess there's a knack for it. I just did that yesterday to a ttr90 for my grandkids. And the oldest has been having a ball on it yesterday and today. Peace be with you.
I've always been impressed by you. After today's video, I am even more impressed. I didn't even realize that was possible. Sorry for your loss! It's easy to understand the meaning behind the scooter after you shared all that. Dog lovers are the best people I know, & you're a great example of that!
Name her Echo. Scooters are great fun. There's something therapeutic about just scooting along at 30 mph without shifting. It allows you to think and look around while cruising. Sorry about your Dad. Horrible experience.
I'm sorry for your loss, I lost my wife 4.5 years ago due to a drug overdose. Love the channel and the videos helped me work on my jd tractor currently I'm on a Zts6000 rebuild.
Kudos to your grandparents! They obviously did a great job.
A good name for her would be "Lucky". Thanks for all you do.
I feel like she has Beagle characteristics in her face. Short snout and markings. Condolences on your Pa however he did choose his path. Prayers for anybody that is seeking relief from addiction it is hard road! Correct there is a special place for cruel people. Thank you for being a kind person in this ever growing evil world!!!!
Bre, Thank you for sharing about your Dad. My heart goes out to you. You seem to be well balanced considering what you have been through and I for one am glad you're OK and provide us with these cool videos. Oh, and my suggestion would be is to get a head strap to hold the camera so it sees what you see and we can see that too!
Hi there, Film from headstrapped cameras make some viewers experience motion sickness. Besides that, looking at a part from nearby would most times not get it recorded since the camera is not where your eyes are.
So sorry for your loss. It's tough to understand this world sometimes.
Reaction of it running was priceless.
Great job Bre.
Two happys for the price of one. She does look like a sweet doggo and makes me miss my little girl again. She went to her reward nearly four years ago now (Wow, so long?) and seeing you with that sweet girl makes me feel I might be ready for another. I'm sure she'll win your bull dogs over 'cause she's a darling.
I think Angel would be a nice name for the dog.
Also thank you for making us feel better that we start projects and then the twist and turns of life and laziness gets in the way that we don't pick up that project again. I have to finish up mine as well. It's always so nice to see how excited you get when you get a machine that doesn't work and it's able to start and run perfectly. You are awesome keep up the good work.
Sorry for your loss. As for that awesome pup, the name of the Scooter just seems right. Zuma!
Sorry to hear about your loss ,who would have thought it was going to just fire up like it never stopped. Japanese engineering is pretty impressive , unlike Chinese engineering . Beautiful dog, all our dog and cats have been strays and they are so grateful and loving to find a stable home .
I'm willing to bet Echo would ride on that scooter with you. It's amazing what a dog will take to just to be with it's owner.
Thank you for saving the puppy. My Molly is a rescue.
I'm so sorry, I had a similar situation. My at the time 18yr old son was watching movies and having take out was waiting to be picked up by his friend. His friend did show up and my wife and I gave my son a hug and said we love you and we'll see you a little later, about 3 hours later a family friend who is a police officer was knocking on my door in tears. He said I need you to come with me your son was in a horrific car accident. A very bad fiery car accident. I had to go and identify him from a tattoo he had gotten a month earlier. He was a passenger in his buddy's car his friend was doing 89mph in a 25mph zone and lost control. Having to do that was by far the hardest thing I've ever had to do in my entire life. I have nightmares of walking in and seeing him. I'm so so sorry Bre for what you had to do. I will keep you and your family in my prayers.
I have not cried for awhile, sorry for your loss.
Great job getting it back together!!! I've had 3 Zuma's of those vintage through the years. I used to ride them to my work because they had free parking for motorcycles yet charged for cars. My first one I put 24,000 miles on it and still ran like a top. Combined all 3 I've probably got 40+K miles. Yamaha did some things right with those bikes. They really are amazingly fun and nimble bikes to ride!!! 🙂
Bre, you sounded like Eric Obrochta. "If I can do it, you can do it".
Thank you for showing that even if a machine sits. It CAN be resurrected.
Vroom Vroom!
I say name her Zuma! I gave a 2021 Zuma and I love it. Totally fun, peppy (despite my 275 pound self) and I get over 70MPG. I too have a pair of English Bullies and I know what you mean about them not accepting outsiders.
You are an awesome inspiration to all in CZcams land and beyond.
Many Blessings!
Sad story about the Zuma. I am putting back together my 85 Kawasaki 750 turbo right now! Been sitting for 7 years. My dog's name is Sprocket. Your new one looks like a sweetheart! All of my family members in that situation are gone now too. I can totally relate.
So sorry to hear about your Dad, I can see why it took you a while to get to working on that thing. Scooters are my wheelhouse, I had many in my fleet until they were stolen. Something to be aware of if you aren't used to scooter or motorcycle carbs, the mixture screw for the idle circuit is the opposite from regular small engines. It's an air screw, not a fuel screw, so you turn it in to go richer and out to go leaner. Also, the black part on the carb is an auto enrichment (kinda like a choke) and it hooks up to power and comes on with the key. There is an internal heating element that slowly closes off a port on the filter side of the carb. When the engine is cold, air flows through and draws more fuel to richen the mixture, and it slowly closes as the engine warms up. And for anyone who has a two-stroke scooter and is having no low end issues, having the intake tract being complete and the filter in there and properly oiled is mission-critical! People like to remove the stock air box and swap out to a free flowing pod filter, and then the thing has absolutely no power. They are tuned to run stock parts and any changes makes them run like poop unless you do the proper tuning. A great place to buy aftermarket and other scooter parts is Scooter Swap Shop in Portland Oregon, They are awesome!.
I love that you, and the others in the area, are helping these dogs. I love dogs.
You get home after a sh@t day at work, ya dog is all "HIYA" GREAT TO SEE YA"
You just can't beat that!
Heck, your spouse is not that happy to see you!!
I love the channel too!
Thanks from over the pond in Cymru (Wales, UK)
you did work on your late Dads Scooter so call your new dog Scooter BTW nice job on the Scooter use it enjoy it
First of all , my condolences to you on your loss. It's not easy on ones soul but you have shown me over the years of watching you that you are a bless women with a strong heart. Kudo's to you on the completion of a great project, really a moral builder. As a former mechanic I know the feeling of long over due projects setting to be completed as I've had a 53 F-100 torn down for 6 years now on a restoration along with smaller items waiting to be maintained. The smile on your face is all the rewards. As for a name for the puppy, you called her a sweety pie so it would only be appropriate to name her SWEETPEA !!
You are a real treat! No BS, just good training. Many thanks..
Sorry for your loss Bre. Taking in a stray dog shows you have a kind and loving heart. Someone suggested Precious. I'll vote for that. We had a rescue pit bull we named Precious. She was the sweetest.
Very nice, you have a good heart ❤️
Thanks for all you do Bre ❤
You are trooper, for sharing and for just chugging along with your head up. thank you for the video!
I’m so sorry about your dad. Losing someone like that can’t be easy. 😢
Sorry to hear of the loss. Ironically I just resurrected a tiller I inherited from my Dad who passed away under unfortunate circumstances as well. Couldn't have done the work without help from youtubers like you. I'll be growing a garden here in Arkansas in his honor now that I live here as well.
So sorry for your loss. We all appreciate your help and continued knowledge.
Excellent Bre!! Sorry for your loss.
To get it back together after a year is quite an accomplishment - way to go.
Give the scooter a try, you will enjoy it a lot more than you think.
Yamahas are very easy to work on and very reliable.
Greetings from Portugal (retired here from California)
Love your knowledge and videos, From central Florida!!!
Thanks, Bre. Have a great day. And thanks for keeping it real, and the puppy love❤
You are sooooo cool! You restore faith in people.
Thanks for sharing. You are brave and deserve all of the good things that come your way. The sincerity is palpable. You truly are the real deal and make great videos.
You inspired me to get my 2009 Zuma 125 running. Derusted the tank… found a break in a wire going into the ECU… and flushed the fuel injector. Runs like a sewing machine now… thanks again.
Love your enthusiasm when it cranked.
Thanks for being there for the dog.
Sorry for your Loss You did a real good job Putting together and it sounds good too Thank you for the video
Great vid Bre. So sorry for your loss. Not many out there like you so willing to share your knowledge and happy to train us on small engine repair. Be keeping you in my prayers. Take care kiddo.
Thank you for the encouragement.
You have a wonderful heart and thank you for sharing your story. The puppy came to you for a reason and I’m glad you found each other.
I am so sorry for loss. Praying for you.
Great video, Bre! Definitely off the beaten Chickanic path. I have two dogs, both abandoned. The latest one got saved a second time after he went missing for two days and I had to climb down a cliff face to extract him. So glad he was a persistent barker, otherwise I would never have found him. Keep 'em coming (videos, not necessarily dogs).
Hi Bre, nice to see a pro do the "Dance of Joy" Well done as always.
Sorry for your loss
Thanks for the update on the dog
Your excitement when your scooter started up is just how I feel whenever something I'm working on goes the way it should. 👍👍
This video inspired us to be better people and/or stay better people.
Enjoyed the video. Very cool seeing the scooter run and bless you for taking in the pooch.
Thanks Brea!!! Love the scooter and the dog you rescued. I'm glad I'm not the only one this has happened to.
BLESSINGS MY FRIEND. GOOD TO PUT HER BACK TOGETHER AGAIN. NICE GAS SAVER TOO!
You are an amazing young lady, with super talents and a heart of gold.
Very sweet video, Chickanic! Loss is so very tough to deal with I know. I lost my mom to long cancer this past Saturday, and it's rough. You are such a sweet person for sharing your very personal story, and for adopting the precious doggo! Fan from Wichita Kansas here!
I have enjoyed your videos for some time now. This one was special. It was good to see you excited about your success. Sorry about your loss. Your treatment of the dog shows your mettle. God bless you!
Great video,Real down to earth story and good to see the scooter start after all that work.
I commend you on your message, "If I can do it YOU can dot it". It is a mentoring message essential for empowerment and confidence building for individuals and society. You have a great channel.
Happy that you are happy - your reaction when the engine started speaks volumes!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for sharing your family.
Cute doggo!

So Sorry To Hear ABout Your Brother Prayers Too Great Job On Scooter You Have Great Compassion For The Dogs
Your smile when it started up made the video!
Good job getting it running.
The joy of two wheelers! You will have so much fun! Be careful.
I love your willingness to dive off into something new. And I really love how excited you got when the scooter started and ran. I do that all the time! LOL I appreciate all the content you post and I have learned soooo much from you that has helped me take care of my lawn equipment. Hence the excited victory dances :) Keep up the great work!
Sad story and sorry for your loss! But, your smile and excitement was rewarding! good job!
Oh wow! I'm so sorry for the loss i know this was hard to do this video but getting that running shure made you happy and thats a good thng.
Glad you posted a video today! I was worried about y'all after the tornado outbreak in Arkansas. Glad you're safe.❤️
Lost my son the same way on 8-1-21, talked to him on the phone and a few hours later my daughter and my oldest boy showed up at my bedside and I knew without them saying a word. Anyway, call her "Lucky Girl". I am tearing into a 5hp B&S on my tiller. Your videos will help me I'm sure.
Sorry to hear about your loss, so kind of u to keep the dog. Great job on the scooter surgery! Enjoy your channel !!😎👍
Great job 🫡🫡🫡🫡!
How nice you fixed a moped! Awesome! :)
You are awesome Chic
Your Dad's situation is tragic. So sorry for your loss. Nice change of pace vid. Thanks
Saved time, money, frustration; maybe not. While I am coming to the party a little late, this has let me (and most likely many others) know that this strong, talented, beautiful woman we see on the outside is every bit as strong, beautiful, talented, as well as kind on the inside. In my years I've seen many check out of life for a lot less than you've endured. Believe me, CZcams is a brighter place with you showing up! Plus it helps that I have a Burgman 650 scooter. Not in pieces, but not driven enough.
You gotta a good heart,Bless You.
Made me tear up. Great video ❤
So much respect for you.
Your a great person.with a bigger heart.call her precious
Thank you for sharing your story. And for completing another project! I have a Craftsman 60" mover that a friend "blessed" me with. He used it regularly, but when I got it home...it caught the grass on fire the first mow. yep caught the grass of fire the second mow as well. so I parked it. four years late... I'm finally getting around to trying to fix it..... life...
Love your show! I gotta older scooter sitting- thqnks for the encouragement to fix it! Love dogs :)
you have such a great attitude, and anyone willing to take in a stray isnt half bad in my book! Ive picked up some good info from this site, Thanks!
