It's pretty refreshing to see someone ride a 50cc scooter in everyday city traffic online, especially on 45 mph roads. A lot of people act like it can't and shouldn't be done. Faster vehicles don't have anymore of a privilege to the roads as a slower moving one does, as long as they are legally allowed to drive there.

    • @patrickshannon4516

It's a dangerous thing not being able to keep up with the flow of traffic. Would like to believe that people are courteous of people that are driving them but that's just not the case

Great video and thanks for the tour of Greenwood Indiana. I recently bought a 2018 Zuma 50 FX and I love it, I'm a pretty big guy and I can get it to 40 mph no problem. I live in Florida so there's a lot of scooters around town. I hope this Zuma treats me right. My plan is to keep it and pay it off then give to to my wife to ride while I buy the 125cc version. I'll be happy at the 55-60 mph mark. At least I hope. Cheers!

I have a 2006 Taiwanese Golden Bee (TGB) Keywest 50cc. As a two stroke, it has increased power, but ultimately less mileage than the four stroke. I've thought quite a bit about getting a four stroke, and I may do that eventually, but for now, my TGB has served me well, being my primary and most relied on vehicle for the past four to five years that I've been riding it. And I, too, ride year round.
I don't know what tires you have, but as a rule, regardless of my vehicle, I always go for the best all-terrain tire I can find, and for scooters, it's the Michelin Raggae, made for on or off-road riding capability. I don't often go off-road, but my thinking is, if I ever need to deviate off the road, I'd like to have the capability of doing so with as safe and durable a tire as I will ever need. Very good tire. If you're not a hot-rodder, they'll last you a long time. They have, me.

I bought Ruckus about 18 months ago and out 4000 on it; itwould be more but I put 4500 on a bigger bike while re-learning motorcycling and traveling. I bought the underseat bag for the Ruck; put on saddlebags, a small bag above the lights, plus a top case to hold my helmet. I do all but big size item shopping and commuting on it. Rode it all Winter except in snow. They’re a blast! Added an air-hawk cushion, softer cover and rain cover for the seat. You lose 5-10 MPH on the hills though. If you’re in a super hilly area, then you may want 100+ cc. This rider is completely right about what he said. They’re great in town, and in the country if you’re not in a hurry. It hives you time to look around, see and enjoy things that you’d speed by in a faster vehicle.

First thing you do is take the spacer washer out of the drive train meant to slow yo down. brand new went from 37 to 42 miles per hour just because of that. They put them in most scooters to keep the top speed down. Like changing the belt just find the spacer and remove it, it will be up front in the variator.

I have a jeep liberty that's high maintenance and is getting close to 200,000 miles. I could get into major debt and buy a big truck cuz it would look much more tough and macho, but I'm seriously considering one of these japanese scooters. I really dont give a fuck what people think. I mean, it has gigantic gas savings and its wayyyyyy easier to maintain. I just need to have a quicker way to work besides walking. And I have a great driving record and I dont care if drunks use mopeds, I really am tired of worrying about what people may think. People are mainly stupid and thoughtless so I've had enough of being self conscious about what I drive. Fuck that. Save money and get to work. It's a real blessing. @@ImSrry4BeingWhite A carburetor is one of the most ingenious devices ever developed. That simple little piece of completely mechanical technology, with very few moving parts, not only manages to do what EFI does with 10 times as many parts, most of them electronic parts prone to failure, and very expensive to troubleshoot and replace, but does it better. Carburetors are still around after more than 120 years, still working perfectly. EFI is just a patchwork nightmare that vehicle manufacturers came up with to make the EPA happy. I have been a drag racer for over 40 years, and I have never seen any EFI setup beat a properly tuned carburetor.
