Just listened to this fine video again. Kudos to Sal Salvador and the rest of the band! I am aware that both these two guitarists are no longer with us physically, but still in our hearts.
Wow. I discovered him in the 70's on the radio in the Bay Area. Thanks much for posting
Mundell Lowe - one of the finest guitarists ever to grace the planet!
Thank you for such a kind comment regarding my father!
@@MidnightJazzer Your father remains an inspiration to any serious jazz guitarist. His playing and improvisations have an elegance that is uniquely Mundell's. I never realized that he played in Drop D tuning. Makes perfect sense. His technique is so economical and intelligent. His demonstration of a C Chromatic scale harmonized is an example. Love his work with Louis Stewart as well. Best duets ever.
Thank you so much for posting this video. I have just found your fathers music this year. He had a wonderful sound and I am inspired to learn more because of his great work.
I have been looking for this video for years. Thanks !!
Your welcome,,,it was a lot of fun for him back when those were popular!
Danny sounds great!
Wonderful
Mundy!! A true master and a true gentleman of music! As was Sal Salvador!
Does anyone have the PDF that along with this video ?
Swingin'!!!
rare thanks
What is name of opening song?
You'd Be So Nice To Come Home To.
Recorded in Stamford, CT, NOT Stamford University!!!
THIS WAS RECORDED AT THE UNVERSITY, WITH A STAGED PERFORMANCE FOR THE EDUCATIONAL JAZZ PROGRAM, OK CHIEF
@@MidnightJazzerI mean, is it surprising that Stamford University is in Stamford, CT? 😂
I don't understand the objection here. Anyway, i had no idea who this gentleman is, but a friend of mine sent me a few links to albums and i became an instant fan. Thanks for posting this.
The drummer looks bored to tears, as if so say "come on guys...". Great playing all around though :-P
No way - I studied with Danny (Gottlieb) and he is the most gentle, humble, respectful guy ever. He just loves music and gets buried in it.
@@lanceallyn1 Indeed! My son studied with Danny and his wife Beth...both amazing people!
