Maybe the most informative video you’ve done( and that is saying a lot)! Excellent info for newbs and old salts. The best teaching tool you use is showing people when you make a mistake, and explaining why it’s a mistake. You should be required viewing! Thanks for all your advice, and encouraging everyone to mix up their commanders builds to see what works best for them.
I always enjoy your commander videos. I just wish I had found them when I first started playing before I buffed my Dewey.

You hit on everything except for the weekly 3x commander crate in the store that reloads on a weekly basis that costs 10.5mil silver.
Note on that, I would only use it in the end game once you have every tech tree ship that you’re going to use. Because that silver is very much needed when unlocking ships.
But once you’ve reached that level, those commander commendations start to add up.

Great point, and I use that every week at this point. I only have a few lines I haven’t completed yet, and I’m not really in a hurry to get tier 7 carriers. They cost too much to upgrade, and honestly, they are my least favorite ships to play. That makes the commander crates an excellent investment for me.
Firmly in the "interested" camp on in-depth commander strategy. I spend more time thinking about level 7 and level 11 inspirations than I probably spent thinking of names for my kids 😁
Great video. You've always spent a little bit of time going over the commander leveling, but this video is the best one so far. Luckily, I'm pretty well stocked with all the commanders and most at higher levels. This will be especially helpful to some of the newer players wondering how to level up and why.

I stay up for an hour later than I want sometimes just looking at the commander menu trying to plan ahead! I have Bey maxed due to his inspiration and Tyrwhitt for smogathon as the RN cruisers are my most played line. The blue commendations definitely become as valuable, if not more than the insignias. Especially when the third perk is usually the strongest one and max level is important, like twist and track. I remember when I was starting looking on reddit to see the consensus best commander for each line and why, just to not feel that sting of wasted weekly missions for promotion orders. I used your portal idea, although I keep getting crates with francois dewey.
Awesome video, I have only been playing for about 6 weeks and I needed to watch this. I have been slow on leveling commanders up to not waste the resources.

Cool video, good advice. I’ve just gone by the commanders needed in bureau, saved p.o’s up for the commanders most needed in the current bureau project that I’m working on. Will try your suggestions now
Some of the best info for new and seasoned captains alike. I am so careful probably too careful I have over 40 blue commendation and insignias. Waiting to swoop some AL captains and I play all ships, own everything up to and including T6 tech tree. Thanks for the review...
The point of this video was to suggest that rather than saving the rare stuff for the event commanders, put it to use on the commanders that are getting some action across the board. If half your navy is event commanders and half is base, and you max all the base first, they will pay for your event commander upgrades
@@TbullGaming everyone I use in the captain seat is at least 11 ones I am sure about on lines I like to play are 14. All are legendary besides french fry dewey and an Italian bb guy I have no Italian bb. I have a plan sorta road map if you will. As I get the promotion orders to hit 13 I'll start looking at moving a guy to 14. Some lines like french dd I am not positive which commander I prefer so 11 is fine atm till I get closer to kleber. I am perhaps cautious but leveling all the lines basically at the same time has until recently kept me from going over 11 besides strong inspiration guys for each ship type. I've been looking at legendary 4 for someone, just indecisive. I appreciate the feedback and maybe I'll throw some resources at something...lol.

Deep dive commander vids are my favorite
Really important point ☝️ Wargaming I believe can change skills or add commanders at any time, so if you are close to the next update be very careful about blowing resources. One commander may be less effective after an update, and a new one might get released that is more effective.

Yea spending the commander currency is always tough. I often find myself double guessing whether to upgrade the commanders for the lines I know I love all the way up or being more even with it, even if it means spending some on the lines I want to work on as a perfectionist and because I know it'll help me improve but don't really enjoy.
I appreciate the breakdown of the commander resource management. Most of the insignias and blue commendations I receive come through completing the campaign missions. I know some are are available free for completing missions and some are locked until you but admiralty backing. Any idea if every update offers the number of those or if some are more/less generous with commander resources?
Lotta good advice brother. Some of us operate completely different though. I only use American battleships. I only use German destroyers and I only use French cruisers
I aim 12 for my bb dispersion commanders since level 12 gives a good increase to turret traverse speed.

You should make a new updated version of “going into 2023 for console” and start a new players and players under 100 hours starter guide. They’d had a lot of free stuff for players so a lot of new people and older returning players are coming back and need a good refresher.

Hey tbull is there a commander biuld video that is just the stock commanders ? I don't have any of the special commanders so just wondering maybe if there is some good biulds that I haven't thought of for when you don't have the special commander options
Id check the commander build playlist, but I don't recall doing a complete breakdown of all the lines. Maybe something that I can cover in the future
I'll be honest... if you want to be efficient with upgrading your commanders just upgrade and focus on the meta perks and builds associated with said commanders. I'm maxed out with the dispersion build now I'm going for reload build then I'm working on other maxed out builds like the damage reduction builds with the Italian commanders.
Considering the amount of time and thought you put into commanders, how do you feel about the recent nerfs/changes to commanders in the current, and next update. I personally feel a little frustrated but I’m curious to hear your perspective.

Good video. I didnt know you could buy blue commendations with blue stars once a commander was completely leveled up. One of the mistakes ive made is that, and thankfully it was early in the game, i would level up commanders for the bureau projects to speed the bureau up. Major mistake. Thankfully, a friend of mine explained to me how that was a mistake. One question. Who is the best French DD commander?
Yes, leveling up commanders for bureau progress is one of the worst mistakes you can make. If I'm gonna save 5 days of bureau progress by using three weeks of commander upgrades, that is an inefficient trade. Especially for a commander I have no plans for. Bureau upgrades should be ignored unless it involves a commander that has already been slated for future upgrades.
As for french DD commander, in my mind it is very close to even. I'd probably roll with OhBoyNo if I could chose again, but both are nearly equal builds

I pretty much upgrade all my commanders that are worth anything equally every week I got most of them 12 .2 to 16.3 I don't have any fully max yet I been playing since oleg and evey commander I own has atleast 1 commendation for legendary 1 some up to legendary 3

I like these commanders..... I do not play the paid and special commanders. the commander crates only give normal comm upgrade.

Save 900.000k of the commander exp (blue) and buy the commander from the store under commander tab
@@maurimela4390 doesn't it take long to build that back up to level up your commanders
@@zidanehamilton5476 it can take a long time, yes depends if you get winning bonuses and use boosters. Seasons stages are good way to collect the extra commander exp and chests.
Otherwise play ships from tier 4 up to legendary and always pop up the commander xp booster flag with the ships you feel like you are most confident with to have a good performance.
It's a grind, there is no way around it

Uhhh. I wish I could get a do-over with where I put my PO and insignias. Especially the early commanders. I upgraded commanders that I never used again after we were able to buy commanders. Seems such a waste now, considering I had no choices then.

Commander upgrading? You gotta be kidding. WoW is gouging people into buying Commander chits to advance upwards into Skills Level for each commander of the game. Then, to add insult to game injury. Heck load in more Commanders thinning out Promotion Orders and Insignias across the countries spectrum of Commanders.
Ask yourselves, using game time. How often do you get an insignia now compared to a year ago? Rare is the bird I'm seeing. I don't know about you TBull, or SpartanElite, but the Wow is gouging NON CZcams Game Contributors with ridiculous game skill advancement. As --- if --- it costs WoW Owners a dime to get Players with Commander skill levels to Tier 4, and Level 16. Nope, add in more commanders, more gimmic Captains, more fluff. But never give more Signia or Promotion Orders along the way. When's the next load of Japanese semi clothed underage jail bate females for WoW pedophiles game developers.
Yup, this slowing trickle of insignias is my only real beef with the game. Otherwise, I like Legends the best of the different versions of WOWs. The real hit is that I don’t explore additional lines of ships because I don’t want to spent the resources on their commanders.
