Fred was the one character who genuinely scared me as a kid. The way he said "naughty", his uncontrollable compulsion, his creepy smile and mannerism, he gave me predator vibes before I even knew what that was.

Yeah. Not all scenes are horror and so. For example, in the episode the tower of Doctor zalost, the main villain was just sad. Honestly, a episode I really loved was that one with the magic tree.

ugh, yes! I remember the episode barely being about Courage too! It was mostly the two girls and Courage was just sorta there. That episode was REALLY heavy handed.

Something really creepy is me and my little brother were watching this a few months ago and when it got to the part about the “old wind” a gust of wind blew open the balcony door. We just looked at each other instantly and we couldn’t close it so we had to get our grandma to close it for us. Still freaks me out to this day. 💀💀

If anyone is the "theory lord' it is the channel that has theory literally in his name and is far more accurate than Mat could dream of The Theorizer.
Courage was one of the bravest characters I'd ever seen as a kid, and even now. His name suits him, for even in his fear of nearly everything around him...he loves his family more than he fears. He and scooby doo were my two favorite characters growing up. Both were easily frightened, but again, both would, when faced with the danger of their friends/family, stand up against the thing they feared. Truly, courage is not the absence of fear, but perhaps overcoming fear for something else, like say, love?
As I grew up I was faced with many things I was afraid of. However, the thing that made me face my fears was the love of my friends and family. I love/loved them more than anything. There was no amount of fear that could stop me if I set my mind to doing something. Really brings back memories.
Here's a theory: Mr wheeler and the Father are part of an association called the "Old Wind" which explains why there's a room with a symbol on the floor and chairs in a circle. I think The father left because he had an argument with Mr Wheeler or one of the other members of the association. Mr Wheeler came to finish the argument. Mr Wheeler being pictured as a creepy monster is actually a symbolic way of saying he was evil.
Also just a random input, I think the argument had something to do with following the Ways of the Old Wind. Mr Wheeler had learnt the ways and became corrupted. Seeing how corrupt he became, the argument started when Father said he wanted to leave the association and spoke against it. Eleanor is another member who defended Father and was his close friend. Than Eleanor left, faked her death and changed her name.

As much as I would love to be a freak, accident found, unreleased game, I simply believe that this game dev duo made the game themselves. It's still a fun thing that they did, but after looking at the graphics of their own games, it's clear that they prefer that era of 3D engine graphics. The jump movement of courage is very similar to their other games.

I watched this show when I was like five, I bearly remember it, but thinking about it now it was more than likely the reason for my nightmares at a young age.
Honestly it seems kinda fitting that MatPat would be the "Theory Lord"

Courage was a big part of my childhood and I can’t wait to see more theories of this show
Here's something I thought about: Eleanor and Robert sounded a lot like Muriel and Eustace. Muriel was just being nice and knew better about causing trouble, a parallel to Eleanor following the rules of the Old Wind. Eustace, meanwhile, was greedy and would only think of himself, not caring about the consequences; he usually died or earned some severe punishment. Robert was the same, using the Old Wind to find immortality, leading to his punishment of becoming a monster. Just a thought, but I wonder if it means anything.
how about the fact that Eustace never dies in the show i mean the guy was turned into a pitcher of water and was still perfectly fine.

Now that I’ve started watching Courage again, I noticed something in the Weremole episode: after Courage brings the doctor to see Muriel after he woke up from the ambulance, he literally calls him her son. That just struck me as weird and more than a little curious. Did anyone else think there was something off about that?
And when I say he calls him her son, I mean he says, “ma’am, your son here was worried about you.” How and why would he confuse her dog for her son? There’s something really off about that.

Courage as a nightmarish kids show reminds me of Gravity Falls, a kids show that isn't oversaturated with kid friendly junk, it really pushes the boundaries of what a "kids show" is. I like that.

Courage fulfilled a need within me as a kid. I crave horror and as a young kid, it was the right balance of unsettling, weird, creepy, meaningful, intense and just. Amazing. Incredible. Courage is just perfect horror.

Darker than you think. The cartoon was based off an actual couple that had a dog, there were in the middle of no where in New Mexico, they reported weird things including a skinwalker, and darker still the couple vanished and only the dog was found alive and well

Same, but I was only allowed to watch it on special occasions or if my parents weren't there to stop me. *RETURN THE SLAB* still haunts my nightmares more than a decade after I first watched it. My first ever little taste of the horror genre (if you don't count The Twilight Zone)
Same, born in 2003, and I remember CN airing this non-stop around 9:30 to around 12:00 on weekdays. I remember being excited to watch it whenever class is out early or it was cancelled for the day, and immediately regretting it afterwards because I'll get nightmares similar to that of Courage's.
That's fun but this also reached the 2010s , here it still after a gap of few months airs in India gotta say it's a masterpiece
