I was thrown by how many people tried to cancel him without hearing his side. It seemed so strange and I worried when he didn't respond. But then seeing the response made it all make much more sense. It's easy to manipulate conversations to make them look like something far worse than it was. And feelings can exaggerate situations when looking back. I feel like cancel culture is abused by bad actors often, but I also think that some want to believe things were either abuse or innocent based on their interpretation instead of verifiable facts. I want to be clear here. I have been raped and sexually, emotionally, and physically abused. These are facts that were established in court and at least one of the attackers has apologized and admitted his large part in it. So when I say that I wanted to hear both sides, it's because I know what abuse looks and feels like and I know that it's easy to think situations weren't what they were when looking back. My abusers, especially the worst one, only saw his abuse for what it was in marriage counseling. The therapist had to tell him directly that what he admitted he had done was violent abuse. That's why I waited, unsure of whether Slazo would admit or have proof it wasn't true. I'm so glad it was the latter. This is why cancel culture, without knowing the entire situation, is so problematic.
@I'm done I agree that we need to be careful about cancelling. But I also think we need to be careful and not give a blanket benefit of the doubt. Taking a step back to see how things play out is the best move. I can't tell you how many times the person that abuses is given the benefit of the doubt. Cancelling is problematic. We shouldn't assume we know. But we need to reserve judgement until we do and make sure we don't knee-jerk support either side.
Slazo, if you see this, thank you for being a good and peaceful person. You are doing the right thing by going your own way. I hope that your channel becomes popular again, but even if it doesn’t, there are more opportunities waiting for you.

The great irony of cancel culture is how ultimately hurts more innocent people minding their own business than people who have actually done wrong and basically turned into a modern pseudonym for Witch Hunting people you don't like. I still remember religiously watching your videos and loving it back in your days of being a "Sorrowtv clone" LOL: to this day, I'd still consider you one of my favorite youtubers and personalities, even though I ended up not really able to get into your content over the most recent years.
There was some sense of closeness in watching your earlier videos, this genuine relatability, kind of just seeing a kid like me hanging out in his room and making hilarious content- not saying your newer stuff was worse! just that I really felt (stupid I know) like, as a sub, I got to know you back then, and it was honestly really nice. So basically what I'm trying to say is that I've always been subbed for your personality LOL, because you're someone I feel I like as a person. I was thrown by how many people tried to cancel him without hearing his side. It seemed so strange and I worried when he didn't respond. But then seeing the response made it all make much more sense. It's easy to manipulate conversations to make them look like something far worse than it was. And feelings can exaggerate situations when looking back. I feel like cancel culture is abused by bad actors often, but I also think that some want to believe things were either abuse or innocent based on their interpretation instead of verifiable facts.
I want to be clear here. I have been raped and sexually, emotionally, and physically abused. These are facts that were established in court and at least one of the attackers has apologized and admitted his large part in it. So when I say that I wanted to hear both sides, it's because I know what abuse looks and feels like and I know that it's easy to think situations weren't what they were when looking back.
My abusers, especially the worst one, only saw his abuse for what it was in marriage counseling. The therapist had to tell him directly that what he admitted he had done was violent abuse. That's why I waited, unsure of whether Slazo would admit or have proof it wasn't true. I'm so glad it was the latter. This is why cancel culture, without knowing the entire situation, is so problematic.

@I'm done I agree that we need to be careful about cancelling. But I also think we need to be careful and not give a blanket benefit of the doubt. Taking a step back to see how things play out is the best move. I can't tell you how many times the person that abuses is given the benefit of the doubt. Cancelling is problematic. We shouldn't assume we know. But we need to reserve judgement until we do and make sure we don't knee-jerk support either side.

The great irony of cancel culture is how ultimately hurts more innocent people minding their own business than people who have actually done wrong and basically turned into a modern pseudonym for Witch Hunting people you don't like. It's less about actually helping victims of wrongdoings and stopping future ones(unlike MeToo) and more about finding a new monster of week to rant about on twitter regardless of if its actually deserved because it makes you feel moral. Yet many people who do it lack the moral integrity to admit when they've done wrong or gone too far.
Some people just like to cancel ppl for fun and it’s the worst. I mean don’t get me wrong, some ppl genuinely deserve it- like Shane Dawson and Jk Rowling for example. But some people just hope others mess up. Like how when fans of Curtis Conner fake cancelled him as a joke (because he didn’t give an extra greeting) and some people were genuinely happy that he was getting canceled. There were comments like ‘aww he’s not getting canceled’ and ‘idk who Curtis is or what he did but now u can stan ____ instead.’ And overall just toxic groups of people that don’t want actual bad ppl to stop, they just want to ruin ppls careers
I think it’s great how he’s not avoiding the controversy and is actually explaining how it made him feel. It makes this video quote on quote “feel more human”. I actually like slazos content. So it’s nice to see him still uploading here and there
