  • When Aline Brito answered the phone in her Arlington, VA home on the afternoon of October 5, it was Ryan Dillman an emergency dispatcher from the Knoxville Customer Monitoring Center. Ryan told Aline that he had received a carbon monoxide signal from the home and that he had already contacted the fire department which was on its way. He advised the family to evacuate until first responders arrived. When they got there, firefighters discovered large amounts of carbon monoxide coming from a faulty water heater. Once the deadly fumes were ventilated, Aline and her family were allowed back in.
