I'm similar to Conan, Scottish/Irish lineage and the itch between the shoulder blades is eternal.

I had similar condtion as Matt Gourley, and my aunt who was an expert doctor, asked me to change my shoes.
I started using comfortable shoes and the condition was fixed.
The problem was with my nerves in the foot were getting pressed all day while I wore the shoes and at night the nerves started relaxing with pulses. The solutions is worth trying.

For me the cause was slipped discs. Basically the discs if they're slipped/bulging can limit/block blood flow to your legs, leading to that pins-and-needles feeling similar to when your legs are falling asleep. My solution was just to fix my posture and stay away from lifting/moving heavy objects. Usually I'd know if my back was getting out-of-whack merely by my RLS acting up and I knew I was doing something to aggravate it.

What Gourley is describing is actual restless leg syndrome. I’ve had it a few times and it sucks
i had an gf with restless leg syndrome. some nights i had to watch tv in the living room while she fell asleep first so she could do her leg thing.
I had it once as a medication side effect. It was horrible. I'm naturally a fidgeter and it definitely isn't that.

HEY MATT, restless leg is a syndrome that COULD be caused by iron deficiency or a bad kidney. A lot of the times it's just idiopathic (came out of nowhere for no reason). Medications like pramipexole are your typical first line treatments.

Just move your leg, that's what RLS is all about anyway. Annoying but prescriptions will invariably sink your liver and kidneys and cause a bunch of other side effects.
For me, walking for few minutes helps sometimes. but not always. when it gets bad, its just horrible for me. Maybe I should get my kidneys and iron checked out. thanks for your comment.

The right shoulder blade “itch” is probably from wearing a guitar while standing. I got the same thing, it really gets bad when I am working with both hands while standing.
I’ve had what Matt had. It might be inflammation from the diet. I got off sugar and carbs and it stopped. I’ve also added magnesium at night.
Yep! Sugar made it worse. Never thought about eliminating carbs, will add that to my arsenal, thank you.

My partner had restless legs. His was due to malabsorption of magnesium as a result of undiagnosed Crohn's disease. When he got better, the restless legs mostly went away.
Back in the day, his restless legs drove me MAD when I had a newborn. Would just be drifting off to sleep and Bojangles would visit and wake me up.
About, every 3-6 months I binge all old and new clips. Mainly the clips with just the 3 of them.
This shows both how much Sona loves them and how much they annoy her.❤😂

I’m on the Metro train coming back from class at CSULB and I just laughed so hard when Sona talked about the baby. I kept rewatching it. Then when I got control of myself, I let it play out until Conan said WHAT THE F-- and I burst out in laughter. I probably looked insane lol
****This has to be a segment where Sona's mother diagnosed Conan, Matt, .Bley, Eduardo & Sachs, and anyone on the Team Coco staff for their ailments with a ye olde; superstitious Armenian cure; and then there is a followup.
I’m both floored and amused that Conan had a whole in depth exam and conversation with his doctor because his back itched but it never occurred to him to pick up a back scratcher 😂

My dad has the same thing with Conan, I guess, because he scratches his back with the edge of the door slowly like a Panda; it's weird to look at, but I got used to it. 😅

In addition to the symptoms described by Matt, i also get massively extreme cramping in my rather large calves.
My grandma always said mustard helped with restless leg. Shed eat a spoonful and itd calm it down. Literally just talked about this to my mom yesterday this is funny timing.

2:00 I get that too sometimes, it's really annoying. Best way I've found is to really tense them up and then relax, you can end up getting a bad cramp tho, I think it's common in people who get cramps a lot

I did not expect to hear about restless leg syndrome here. For me it's not pins and needles but more like spasms or jerks, or like Matt said after more like a sensation where I need to move my legs. I used to take magnesium that helped when I was a kid but eventually stopped helping so now I have actual medication (Madopar) for it from a neurologist. Unmedicated it can be an absolute torture, used to take hours for me to fall asleep because of it.
Have you been tested for PLMS? Periodic Leg Movement disorder. I have both RLS and PLMS and PLMS is what causes the jerks for me. Wakes me up.
Ant die effects of your meds? I'll look into it. I've found high grade CDB oil helps RLS. It helps with seizures so it helped me.
@@yvonnegougelet1204 Can't say I have, didn't even know there's multiple of these. The medication I have is for Parkinsons and RLS, and it's quite effective and helps me a ton so I assume that's what it is. The jerks don't really wake me up usually, my biggest problem is falling asleep, but I have been told by several people over the years that I do kick quite a lot when I'm sleeping.
It's the feeling you get when you don't blink, but in your ankles.

I had restless legs back when I was doing opioids. I couldn’t sleep without pills or heroin thank god that’s in the past, the restless legs was the worst part of the physical addiction.

Restless Leg Syndrome can have common physical causes. Mine was connected to my lower back. I've had slipped discs multiple times in my lower back, and whenever I would aggravate my lower back my RLS would act up. Basically had to fix my posture and be careful about moving/lifting heavy things, but I rarely suffer from RLS anymore. You can take medicine for it too. I have Ropinirole and it helps as long as the RLS isn't too severe.
I like that Sona thinks it worked lol. I have a shark whistle to sell her.

In my apartment growing up in NY, we had a popcorn ceiling wall. It became the back scratching wall. It felt amazing and it got your whole back, def try it 🫡😄
It sounds like Matt is explaining Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease (CMT). It comes in various forms that range from imperceptible to severe, and is a rare disease. And he's right, nothing you can do for it except prevent further degradation. So please check with your doctor Matt if it's CMT!
He doesn't have cmt. He definitely has rls. Matt's doctor can prescribe medicine for him that is very effective (I take Mirapex).😢

Restless leg feels like a static charge that builds up in the legs and you have to move to stretch them out to get rid of it, then it builds up every few seconds, fun.
Gotta love how Conan a Matt scold Sona about calling a doll "a baby" and immediately doing the same thing like 30 seconds later.

Gorelys problem is easy to fix. 1. Iron supplementation. It's usually caused by an iron deficiency, rare in men, but still. 2. He needs to exercise his legs. Squats, lunges, leg extensions, hamstring curls. This is what cured mine, if your leg muscles have been adequately stimulated, they are never sore or restless. You sleep like a baby, and your legs WANT to be still.
Does magnesium such as magnesium chloride flakes dissolved in water (magnesium oil) help?

Ever since I was a kid, I noticed Conan had the same hyper legs that I have. I can not sit still at all. It also showed in his monologues, because he had a tell: before every punchline his elbow goes a-twitter.
Me too, sometimes after work if I'd want to take a powernap I simply can't because that annoying tingling sensation in my legs creep up and after three tries I'll go and well, use them haha. Postponing the said powernap
So, is there an update about restless legs? I have it mild, it's not noticable by others while sleeping, but I want to know too.

I used to have that that Matt Gourley has, i soon realised it was my sleeping pills that did it... I changed it and BAM, i could sleep "normally".
Mine did the same. If I miss a couple days it'll happen.
