  • With just under 400 residents, it seemed like there shouldn't be too many unknowns in this sleepy town just a few miles west of Oxford. But Cason and a few other residents ran for office in 2023, concerned with how much money the village had, how the money was being spent and why a beloved officer was let go.

    The fiscal officer isn't the only one who needs to be investigated, those who conspired to give her sweetheart deal and approved it need to be investigated as well and, if necessary, need to be taken to court as well.

    The town’s books need to be audited by a forensic accountant. The fiscal officer and her father needs to be criminally investigated for fraud and embezzlement.

    From what I remember hearing the new mayor won the office last year, but the old mayor refused to leave or hand everything over to her. That's a huge problem and even a bigger red flag ... what's going on ??

  • @user-eh5cr4or6k
    @user-eh5cr4or6k Před měsícem +33

    If there was nothing inappropriate about what they're doing they wouldn't have locked the new mayor out of the town offices, and they wouldn't be hiding all of the town's financial documents. The only reason you pull the shenanigans that they've pulled is because you're trying to avoid jail time.

    Some of these one-horse towns are run like South American narco states, it reminds me of Westerns when the bad guy who has a ranch outside of the town but owns just about everything in the town, and all the money spent ends up with him, He owns the saloon, the general store, the blacksmiths, the livery stable, the Hotel, the telegraph office and the newspaper, just one guy hasn't sold out to him yet and he is 65 years old half-blind deaf as a post and had his water supply cut off to his shack, we need Gary Cooper to ride into town and clean the place up, someone will marry him and everyone will live happily ever after,

    Actually that’s not a lot of money seeing how long she’s been on the job, standard yearly salary increases could have easily accumulated over the years.
    And even then, 70,000 might be a lot of money to many of you but it’s really not these days.

    • @danielponton1075

      yeah but 120 sick days plus weekends at 104 plus holidays. She is basicially working 130 days a year if she even shows up for work. $70000 divided by work days is an average of $540 per day of work for a town of 400 people. and by the way, her father is her boss!!!!!!

      Most small places like that they get paid near nothing. They take that on because its required. Got a friend whos on a small town's City Council in South GA. He gets paid about 2000 per fiscal quarter.
