So damn true! I have known a gal in gaming for years now. She has always been conservative in her online persona. Very petite gal, never very "showy", having a steady but not really increasing following. She has started to branch out her physical involvement, showing more "risque" images online and in live game streams. Started a Patreon where she tosses out sexy pics to paying customers.

As a researcher, I have to note that this experiment wasn't double-blinded. For example, Kari could have been personally happier with the larger breasts, and potentially influencing the customers via demeanor rather than breast size. But as a human being who's seen this happen a million times in a million different contexts, I'm pretty sure it was the boobs and that this would have turned out the same even if it was double-blinded.

As someone whos worked in the service industry for 15 years, I would say the only thing that wasnt accounted for was the day of the week. When Ive worked my restaurants, Ive noticed that I got a higher tip percentage in the beginning of the week vs towards the end (Theory being that Friday was payday and someone who needed to wait until Friday didnt have enough money to begin with and didnt tip as well). I wonder how that played a part in this experiment
She should have done the same day each week at a different cafe, just as popular. If she did it at the same cafe, regular customers might've got suspicious at her quickly growing breasts.
yes ur right but the coffee shop is a little different. the people werent "forced" to tip. say as a waiter where not tipping is looked down at. putting money in a tip jar is optional and she seemed to get more with bigger breast so.

While you are right about people spending more, closer to whenever they got their last paycheck, but this was done over 2 days in a row, so there wouldn't be a significant amount of difference in their funds from one day to the next, and even less so with such an inexpensive item. To top it all off, the difference in earnings is so massive that any affect on the project based on budget are basically negligible. 30-40% increase based on a _SINGLE_ factor is absolutely massive.

Kayel Eva except every woman I know that got breast augmentation did it for herself. My wife debated a lift herself and I told her to only do it if it is something she wanted and I loved her the way she is. Im sure there are assholes that pressure woman into it but it's not the norm.

I figured this out when I was 16. I did the heavy lifting in a coffee shop, the cute young ladies worked the customers. Since we pooled tips, it worked out for everyone. They didn't have to pick up heavy/ nasty stuff, and I didn't have to deal with customers.

They should also check for hip-waist-bust ratio to see how that influences it independent of breast size. Typical preferred ratio is having a waist that is 7/10 of hip and bust.

They tested this in the Netherlands and the one with the larger breasts got less tips, because often the jealous girlfriend would pay without tipping instead of the boyfriend, which would happen when the girl had normal sized breasts.

I do believe that Kari's attitude might have actually changed based on how she was treated; psychologically speaking, social interaction is a feedback loop. So, on the "small boobs" day, she felt normal and acted normal and the customers did the same. On the "big boobs" day, however, once she noticed the men fawning over her, she couldn't help but feel amused and perhaps smiled more and had a brighter attitude. This would create a positive feedback loop where she actually gave better service, leading to bigger tips. This variable was certainly not accounted for (or at least, not discussed).

Great myth to test. My question would be: Would the tips have been even larger if the cleavage had been more prominent? I tend to believe that if larger breasts that are covered results in larger tips, larger breasts that are somewhat revealed would have brought in even larger tips. I also think a bar might have been an even better environment to make Kari even more money.

The fact that they got $72 on the first day is crazy. I’m from the UK and I worked in a country pub for a few months, we barely got more than 2p (2 cents) some nights. The American tipping etiquette is so confusing to me…
I’m pretty happy with their method, but they should have tracked average tips for the other cashiers as a control. They could also have tried to see if people were changing lines from one cashier to another.

If they really wanted a good experiment, all they have to do is observe the normal staff especially if there are different shapes of women. I work in a restaurant and have noticed that some of the women who may not have the bigger shapes but prettier faces get a bit more than the ones who might have the larger shape but more average face. This also takes into play if the server wears make up. One good thing is most of the girls I work with are mostly within a couple years of each other so that balances out well enough. Sadly, more times than not the really heavy girls don't make as much even if the service is the same.

My problem with this as a study is only running each test once. There are a lot of variables that can cause one business day to be different from the next just because it's a Tuesday vs a Wednesday. Also, coffee shops often have regulars who come in every day, so the fact that on the big boob day Kari was a familiar face could have had an effect. She also might have simply gotten better at the job having worked it three days in a row. Anyone who's worked a new job knows your first day is rough and you screw up a lot. For these numbers to really be meaningful, I'd want at least a week at each cup size.
