    All specs: mynexttablet.com/surface-pro-...
The Microsoft Surface Pro 10 for Business is a 13-inch Windows tablet that is available in Germany at a price starting at 1399 euros. Compared to its predecessor, we get a brighter 600Nits display, an improved front camera and the latest Intel Core Ultra 5 135U and Core Ultra 7 165U processors. You can also get it with up to 64GB RAM and an SSD of up to 1TB.
I think it's a shame that there is no version with 5G or LTE. But it does support NFC and WiFi 6E.
We still get the very high-quality Surface design with folding stand and aluminum housing. You can get it with the excellent Microsoft Type Cover and the Slim Pen 2 or Surface Pen. The latter are active pens that you can use to write by hand on the tablet.
What do you think of the Microsoft Surface Pro 10 for Business?

I just look at the specs for Intel Core Ultra 5 135U and 7 165U. Surprisingly, it has similar TDP to the Alder Lake CPUs in Surface Pro 9 WiFi. I won't expect it to have a great battery life compared to ARM SoC, which is why I'm still more excited for the Snapdragon version that us general public will be getting soon.

The biggest concern with these surface tablets has always been the battery. I've seen many reviewers indicate that it's nearly impossible to replace and that it died. within a year, for some and they had to resort to having the device constantly plugged in to a power outlet. I'd buy, if they ever fix this issue.

    • @beckinbinderin
      @beckinbinderin Před 2 měsíci +4

We've had a LOT of Surface devices, in this building. Not one died from a failed battery (within a year, or two). Zero. They're usually replaced, within a few years, either due to only having 8Gb ram, or the screen cracks.

I have had my surface pro-7, with an i7 cpu 16gb ram and 256 ssd for almost 4 years now. I use it for school and plugged into a monitor once home at the end of the day for more work/streaming amazon prime and Netflix. It's basically working all day long and yes...I only get about 4 hours or so of battery life but besides the poor battery life this product has work flawlessly. If it had a 10 hour + battery life in real world use it would be a perfect device for most people. Look forward to windows on ARM getting better for the future snapdragon surface devices. I just had to buy a power bank to carry around with me when im not by an outlet, which is a baseus 30,00maH and can charge it from dead to 100% about 2 1/2 times. so with the power bank it lasts we a long time.

When you start recording for the review, please compare the fan operation (and maybe heat) between the SP10 and SP9 via software like CZcams, Google Sheets and design software like a video editing (Resolve) or a photo editor (Affinity or Adobe) and the battery performance via some low impact usage like Google Sheets work + a CZcams video streaming simultaneously and something more battery demanding like a game (Fortnite should be a good tool for that). This would be very appreciated.

How is the tablet experience overall, for example just for things like navigating CZcams and pressing buttons (expand, minimize windows etc). Does it feel stable and smooth enough or clunky and glitchy? Reliable? I’m considering the upcoming Surface Pro 10 but only if the tablet is good enough and not too clunky (I already accept it will be clearly worse than iPad smoothness but of course you get full windows).

It is so much better than it was on windows 10, they expanded a lot of the touch targets, like for resizing and moving windows. It's easy to snap windows with touch also. Main thing that annoys me though is on certain 3rd party applications the touch keyboard does not appear when invoked, there is a really good app on the microsoft store that solves this called gesturesign. it lets you assign a touch screen or touch pad gesture to basically any action.

The pros: No extreme spyware, unlike the Surface Pro 11. The same great display with good CPU performance for daily office work or traveling journalists. The Wi-Fi (6E) and Bluetooth (5.3) are good. The SSD is adjustable. Very light to carry around. The web camera is good too.
The bad: Even though the battery life improved, it is still just okay. Also, no adjustable RAM. Thus, isn't good for professional level programming beyond some small scripts.

I like the Surface Pros, but they are expensive despite being in the premium sector. In the UK, the Core Ultra 7/16GB/512GB with keyboard and pen is £2100, which is out of my league. Thankfully, like Apple, they offer a discounted 8GB/256GB version for £1200, but with the keyboard (essential) and pen, that is another £300. Apple gets a lot of unjustified flack for their pricing, but the 16GB/512GB MB Air M3 is also £1500, and although these are not necessarily comparable devices for most, they hint at the Surface line cost.
Still, I have the SP10 on my shortlist for a premium ultrabook and hope to bag a deal later. I expect the Surface Pro X Elite will be even more expensive, with the WOA chip, OLED display, and probably no 8GB option, so I am not hopeful that it will be even close to my budget!

    1) W11 is still a misery as a tablet software. I think Android will work as desktop faster than windows as a tablet…
    2) Intel chips are still extremely power hungry and have a slow GPU. An AMD chip Z1 extreme or new 8000 series with the 780M GPU would have been much better on all aspects
    3) still an obscene price and you get as base 8 GB of ram and 256 GB SSD ?! As Apple, they won’t see my money as long as they charge over 1000€ for miserable specs. In 2024 I expect nothing but 16/512 as the base (budget) spec. Offering 8/256 is a moral offense and I wouldn’t buy it for more than 700€.
Conclusion: way too bad chip, price, base specs and ending with a poor “tablet” platform (W11). Not worth it.
