- I painted on a MASSIVE canvas with oil paints! It's 3x3 ft! I just got back from Hawaii in August, and have actually taken a few weeks off filming. Stuff has been scheduled in advance, but this is the first time I've painted in over a month. It felt SO GOOD! Anyway, this video is way more relaxed since I'm in my element, but I hope you feel a sense of calm and peace as you watch it! I love painting water, and it makes me feel at home!
Limited edition prints and the original are available in my shop!

When you were talking about the way you see water differently, I totally related to you! A couple months ago I was painting trees for the first time so I really had to observe them and watch a lot of tutorials because they are quite tricky! And then I noticed whenever I looked at trees in my backyard or wherever, they looked like paintings to me and would think about how I would paint that specific tree. Art in general changes my perspective in how I observe everything.
Love that! So relatable too. What medium do you use for painting trees? Your art sounds lovely. :)
@@MiraByler Thank you! I love painting in oil!
The way you capture water is incredible! *chefs kiss*
agreed!
Hi Temi. 2 of my favourite CZcams artists ❤. How great would it to see a collab 👀!
Yes! It looks so realistic!
yesss
Hello!
Mira your personality is so fun and positive! So thankful for you!
You are the first comment! 🏆 Congrats
I have a fine art degree, but this year I've been making and selling a lot of hand painted wooden peg dolls. It's been unexpectedly relaxing. It's also nice that my fine art can now be a thing just for me.
That water painting looks SO realistic, I can almost see the water moving. SO COOL!
Good luck with that!
You cannot ruin it, remember, we only make happy accident 😁
I love how you're able to put so much detail in the waves and mist above them. Makes the water so realistic. Its so peaceful and satisfying to watch you paint.
I've never seen the sea painted from within. You've created a dream. It's beautiful. I do believe it could calm the wildest of creatures. I love it.
I’m not a great artist BUT I am a graphic designer. I broke my leg 4 weeks ago and I’ve been sitting a lot so I’ve been catching up on CZcams channels. I watch a lot of different art channels. I think it brings me peace to see beauty from plain materials. I own a business and make signs and stickers, tshirts, accessories etc and that’s how I make art. So while I’ve been catching up from last year when I step back from watching CZcams channels - I’ve been working on digital art to print and cut stickers from others designs I’ve bought rights to and making some wood signs using some new techniques and I’m loving it. Thanks for being real and you’re so calming for me it lessens my anxiety. ❤️
She said that sometimes she paints with both hands so casually! The amount of skill you have to be able to do that is so impressive!!
Had I not watched the video, I would not know this was not a photograph! Stunning!
3 ft??? Wow! I saw the finished painting on Instagram and it’s beautiful! I’ve been wanting to use this big pad of Bristol smooth paper I’ve got (13x17 I think) but it’s so daunting. I’m used to 9x12 at the most. I’ve also been wanting to do more pieces with intricate line work (also daunting). So I’m going to start prepping for it by doing Inktober. To keep myself interested I’m going to incorporate an animal with each prompt, because I’m comfortable drawing animals.
I’m currently painting the outside of our home, but my hands have been burning to paint some succulents. After the house is done I’ll sink in. The painting is stunning, such an inspiration Mira!
Love this painting!! I really feel like I'm in the moment. Listening to your process was really interesting and made me enjoy the finished product all that much more. Art, to me, me is just a picture until you have the back story. The story is what makes a piece priceless. Keep painting big!!
I've actually been working on crocheting a bigger blanket for my boyfriend and I before winter. My heater is broken in my house so we need all the warm we can get! Crocheting has actually helped me through the hurricane season (this year wasn't too bad for us though, so I'm thankful for that) because I get really bad anxiety when it comes to bad storms.
I love how you love what you do; It's gorgeous.
I'm working on a daisy blanket with yarn scraps. I used to crochet and I want to get back into it.
I absolutely get your fascination with water. I lived in Hawaii for 3 years, the water is so beautiful! Now living in Maine, I just spent days traveling over 800 miles of the Maine coastline getting images of the water, rocky coast, and over a dozen lighthouses for some upcoming artwork. Loving how this pice came out! Enjoying your channel too! Have a great day!
I'm hoping to make a self portrait of me in sea water, using oils and painting on a cradled wooden panel. I'm aiming to make an art portfolio and maybe make things for Etsy. I'm not sure. LOL. Really nice painting, by the way. It's lovely.
I love your new art room! It feels cozy and safe, and I love how positive and bright you are 😄
That painting is absolutely gorgeous!! I love the new way you found to capture the water ❤️ it’s definitely my favorite way!! Also, has anyone ever told you how sweet and soothing your voice is? I’m sure I could go back to other videos I’ve watched before and listen to them as I’m falling asleep ❤️❤️
Such a nice way to chill with you, while working on Halloween costumes 😊. It turned out beautiful! And also, I paint with both hands unintentionally. It’s more of an intuitive process or when I’m blending and/or fading the paint on canvas 😁. Much love! 💕
Your vids always make my day better Mira! Your positivity is infectious and I'm thankful for it❤️
Aw Mira, this was a joy to watch you working on a longer project! I’m half way through a big project myself but it’s made of lots of smaller paintings. I’m designing a calendar with some of the businesses from my town! Half way through and loving it!
Two seconds in and I already love it
Hi, Mira. You popped up on my YT because I LOVE watch studio makeovers 😂 and despite watching hundreds (thousands?) of watching watercolor painting, this is the first time I’ve ever watched someone paint in oil. It’s fascinating! But I’m not quite ready to jump into oil just yet. To answer your question during your video, I’m working on drawing more because I think it’ll up my watercolor game, which is what I love to do. As a distraction, I’ve been playing with gouache and acrylics. But who knows, you might have opened the door to oil too. I am looking forward to your next video next week. PS, I think it’s sweet that your husband is also crafty.
Girl, you inspire me. I always have your channel on when I'm doing my art. On a personal note, your videos have helped me when I've been struggling (art, personal life, etc). Thanks, please keep it up!
I want to dive in!!!! Holy cats!!! Looks so refreshing. My favorite part is toward the center where there is a bit of a swell but also you can see a halo type reflection. So good!!!
You captured so well that moment when the water suddenly looks like glass. It's really beautiful!
As of lately I have been creating more art, even though I am now really busy, I have been very happy with what I have created. I do not feel that way often and feeling this way during a rough time makes it even better. I was also just recently hired at a preschool and I was allowed to decorate the rooms. It was so fun. I out auto Halloween decorations that my boss bought and I also made some of my own. I had so much fun during the process of creating the bulletin boards and my boss also loved it. I was proud of what I was able to make with construction paper, crayons, pipe cleaners, and a stapler. I have never been this creative before, ever but it was an amazing experience and I hope to be more creative even outside of a classroom. 🥰🥰❤️
When I have been painting/drawing a particular thing, or building stuff out of Lego (it has happened with Lego, too...), when I see something similar in real life, I start to see how it can be painted, drawn or built. The first experience I had of this phenomena that I remember was when I was doing GCSE art at school and I'd been looking at bushes and plants for a landscape painting I was planning. It goes away though if I don't paint or build Lego for a while.
You're so therapeutic, My fatbit 🤭 tells me that my heartrate has slowed whilst watching you. Thank you for sharing the painting of this piece, it's so very beautiful. The colours match my bedroom perfectly and if I had the money (and you shipped to the UK) I'd definitely want a print of this if not the original. Thanks for putting out inspiring content that is good for ones wellbeing. And to answer your question, over the last week I've been doing the first thing you mentioned. I picked up my crochet hooks and have made a bunch of pumpkins of all sizes and colours (though my brother thinks the small ones are garlic bulbs 🤭) and a whole parliament of bright, woolly owls.
This one is so beautiful! I love watching your videos they’re so relaxing and you are such a sweet spirit. Hope you have a great day!
This looks so realistic! We can clearly see how you improve on painting water!
So pretty! Looks really good! I'm in the process of making a Haunted Mansion Disney Wreath and about to start painting some Halloween artwork on a jacket I just bought. But, getting back into art makes me smile because like you have been going 90 to nothing on cleaning/painting on my house I'm about to get so this in turn helps me take a huge sigh of relief and can just simply focus on art. 😁
Hi Mira! I really enjoyed this painting and it looks sooo freaking realistic!
In school I am participating in an art elective, and I am making one of those clay trays that are everywhere on TikToks. It's going to be an orange with a leaf in front of it :)
I usually watch YT in the mornings when I drink coffee so when I saw you posted another video yesterday while at work, I got excited to have a video to look forward to. Your videos are very therapeutic and calming. Beautiful artwork!
Mira this painting is absolutely phenomenal!!! 😲😲😲 It's like looking at a photograph! I have always been fascinated by the way water looks, how it changes, how it can reflect light and colour and how it can create and/or change the complete atmosphere/mis-en-scene of a whole project.
I would absolutely LOVE to be able to paint water like this - would you ever consider doing an in-depth tutorial or tutorial series for things like water and portraits? I need you to teach me your ways master Mira! 🤣🤣
Your commentary is always so beautiful and inspiring. I totally agree with enjoying large paintings because you can put your body into it. I never really thought about it that way!!
I've currently got a million projects going but one I'm super excited about is I'm crocheting all of the eeveelutions for my sister!
I am working on my jewelry for the moment and making watercolor backgrounds for them. At least I am in the thinking process. Still designing. What colors, how to display them etc... I want to give my display to be beautiful as everything is on display in my livingroom. Not some pre-made cards that you buy in the store, but something from me... so yes... and as I am not able to do much for the moment as of my backpain, it keeps me occupied.
I live to watch you paint. Thank you for sharing... and I find it adorable how you both working together. Being together doing your own thing....
I'm painting a plant pot right now as a memorial for my pet fish ♥️
This painting is sooo! Beautiful💖💖💖
The painting is so gorgeous! I can already smell the sea salt and feel the fresh sea air ☺️
QOTD: I’ve got my first proper sketchbook atm and my main focus is to learn how to do abstract pieces with watercolour. And not just abstract, but abstract in a way that feels right for me. I’m primarily an abstract artist, but watercolour is very much a medium that lends itself to realism.
Your painting is stunning. 😍
Love your videos and how passionate you r about painting water your a great inspiration
I lived in Hawaii for 8 years growing up, glad you could visit, it’s a beautiful state!
My project at the moment, is studying to be a Diversional Art Therapist. I hope to be able to bring art classes to those that need a diversion from some part in their life such as, illness, grief, loneliness, mental health reasons as well as for aged care residents. It’s actually a diversion for me to study Diversional Therapy, if that makes sense.
The moment footage of water was seen, we knew what she's gonna paint 🎨
💜
this turned out amazing. watching water is so calming and this painting is so atmospheric
It is so beautiful! I love watching you create, you such an inspiration to me!
I’ve never wanted to paint water before but watching your process makes me want to try. You’re an incredibly skilled artist and your water scenes are immaculate 🤩🤩
YYYAAAAAAAASSSSS GIIIAAANNNTTT PAINTING!!!!!
YES I LOVE YOUR ENTHUSIASM!
Fun Galaxy painting by the way I love your videos they inspire me
I love your content, energi, and attitude. You have a beautiful soul. I feel safe and soothed when I watch your videos, and the feeling lingers. Thank you.
I'll never get tired of seeing your amazing water masterpieces! You are truly such a talented artist! The vibes of painting with the rainy weather outside looked so chill and peaceful. I love creating things with my windows wide open. :) I would love to see another "Creatures of Peace" project again by the way. I absolutely adore those! Any chance we'll be seeing some more of that before the end of the year? 😉
Such a calm, peaceful video! PS. I love the flannels, their one of my favorite things to wear☺💜
This video helped keep me company while painting my bedroom/workspace in my new house 💖
Right now I am writing the book I’ve always wanted to do
Holy crap that water looks incredible
Portraits are what I am practising just now. I started to learn during the pandemic lockdown and was shielding. I`m no expert but find it so satisfying to have a painting turn out quite well. Working on the measurements on face and body. Frustrating most times but getting there. So plenty cups of tea and breaks. I always leave it sitting where I can see it every time and see what next has to be done or fixed. Wish me luck! I really want to learn how to do water that looks lifelike. For another day though.
Beautiful job! You've captured the depth and fluidity of the water so well.
I've got a giant canvas a friend bought for me at a yard sale. I've had it for a few years now, and I've no idea what to paint on it. It's both exciting and intimidating.
Currently, I'm working on a picturebook, as well as about twenty other ideas in progress or swimming around in my brain. 😂 Not enough hours in the day for all of the creativity.
Gosh I wish I had the money to own the original! That is absolutely STUNNING!
I love this painting! I also really love the one water painting in the background at the beginning/end. 🥰
Ohhhh those clips from the ocean were lovely! The water looked so clear and beautiful!
I really would love to paint again, but since I moved, all of my paint had to stay. =(
But soon enough, I'll be painting with the inspiration you gave me!
3D printing... Cool! I've always found 3D printing quite fascinating! How fun! =)
Hmm... I have a sketchbook I'm trying to finish before the end of the year. I'm quite behind, but I do enjoy doing it, so we'll see if I make it!
Ahhhh the water~ It looks so lovely and realistic! I really, really love it! And I can see you do as well! I'd get one of your prints, but I have no money lol. But I hope everyone who gets one is happy! =)
nice, i feel like i am on a surf board skimming the waves ❤️
Oh Mira it’s beautiful! Hawaii was a wonderful idea, I loved watching your process
Ying Yang rainbow/black sketchbook thing I love the painting
The water looks so good. 👌
I'm trying to get better at painting water. I really like beach paintings. They look very calming and I think it's like a small travel to a different place when I'm having a bad day just by looking at it.
I feel the same about landscapes, too. 😊
Mira, you are so talented! That is absolutely beautiful! Right now I’m working on painting and embellishing a paper mache hot air balloon for my niece. God bless everyone!
First painting in your new house and it's a beauty!!! You are the only people I know that took a vacation in the middle of a move, LOL. Glad you are so happy in your new home.
I'm working on mixed media paintings: watercolor/gouache/colored pencil/water soluble pencil mostly animal and botanical themes.
Right now I’m slowly learning and having fun with Procreate. I learned a lot from this painting! Bravo!
This turned out gorgeous!
Currently drawing/planning a triptych digitally that I will burn into 3 round pieces of wood when finished. For my nephew that was born 4 weeks ago. And working on a jungle bookshelf for another nephew, for in his new room. Cut the pieces and now painting them. For me it’s easier to plan/draw it digitally first before painting or burning it into the final product.
And always have a diamond painting laying around I can work on when I don’t feel like painting or drawing.
Amazing- i cant believe you went to hawaii, that's so cool hope you had fun! The water painting is beautiful, as always. I would love to see an oil paints tutorial
Fall always makes me want to crochet so I've been crocheting lots of hats!
Beautiful work. Love your art-geekiness! So infectious!
I'm currently unpicking a hand knitted cardigan that was my Mum's. My niece chose to take it as a memorable token of her Nan. The unpicked wool will be washed in hanks, rewound and knitted up into something that my nice can actually wear.
Omg! This piece is amazing! Right now I am working on a huge 44in by 44in circle humming bird painting for my AP art class! I love watching your videos when I work! Love your channel and your message!!
AMAZING ! Just one word, because it’s so precious
So glad to see you a lot happier in your new home 🥰
Right now I am just painting on my sisters phone case. Your videos are so cool and I really love your art
Yayyy so happy to have a Mira video waiting for me after school!!!
This is so gorgeous Mira!!
This series is so fun and your paintings are beautiful 😍.I am subscribing and I guess I just really enjoy this painting on a large canvas series. Great job!!
I love watching these painting videos so much, they make me wanna paint too!
i love the ocean and being from the caribbean it teaches you to calm, respect and enjoy the ocean. I love watching the ocean's waves crash against the seashore and craggy rocks.
I love your water paintings! This one is so calming and absolutely beautiful.
I did an underpainting for the first time after watching you paint and it worked fantastically!! Thanks for the inspo!!
I love her work ethic
This is so nice to watch 😍 perfect to watch while I'm crocheting which is my fave craft!
Amazing as always, the water looks so transparent and flowing
I love, love, LOVE it!! Stunning Mira!
That came out fantastic!
Love this. It flows so well
OMG it's sooooo good!!!!
Thank you for explaining about under paintings. I’ve always wondered about that.
The painting is amazing.
