  • In this video I'll show you some easy tricks and techniques for speed painting survivor miniatures for Last Days Zombie Apocalypse (Or Other Zombie Games). The actual miniatures I'm using are from Mantic's Walking Dead All Out War game.
Last Days is a new game by Ash Barker (Guerrilla Miniature Games), published by Osprey Games.

Really like the blue wash on the light primer for jeans. Good video.

Really interesting technique - just picked up TWDAOW and need to get 2 survivor bands & 24 walkers table top ready in a month, so definitely trying this out!

Mantic minis used to be quite meh, but the have gotten a lot better in the last 3 or so years. They now have an in house resin shop, and the are making hard plastic sprued minis. Thier board game minis are still PVC, but newer models in the Warpath range are nice. Not GW nice, but not as expensive either.
I don't like putting thier striders together, but the new Warpath vehicles are awesome. However, they will fall short by not including decals or assembly instructions.

Great video! I'm trying to bring this game to my local scene and videos like this one go a long way to easing people into miniature painting. Thanks!

So glad I am not the only one who uses this technique. Though honestly I have never thought of using it on wood and faces. Only clothes and accessories.
Also you painted the shotgun reciever as wood...

The MiniJunkie Where I live you have to know firearms. Rural towns are fun. I mean my town has had 2 bears, 1 black and 1 brown, inside the city limits this past 2 months.

The MiniJunkie On the plus side I am surprisingly good at designing firearm rules for games and painting them well.

I've seen you use this wash process previously, and I'm again surprised how well the colors appear against the white. Vallejo has a light grey wash, and I wonder if it would do as a shade for white. I will have to buy some and see.

Cool - I just finished "painting" (and recording) a set of 9-10 (I forget, they are downstairs right now) survivors for a couple of teams/groups. It only took a couple of hours and they are nearly done.

hi, which color for the zombie skin? Besides, the blood effect is nice, how did you pull that off? Thank you

Great video..... are you working on those airbrush how to videos or it’s just to much to attempt. If so I completely understand.... making your videos must be like a full time job with editing and all that.

Thanks! Yeah not so far - I'm mostly just filming whatever I happen to want to work on at a given time (and my "how I paint XYZ" vids seem to get the most views, much more than my more general how-to painting videos). Doesn't mean I'll never do it, but just not top of my list for now.
