YES YES YES! Can’t agree enough man. There are way more important skills in the backcountry than hyper focusing about slaying huge lines and exposing yourself to avy terrain.
I got into backcountry skiing because I love to tele and because my dog needs exercise. Not to pump my ego and brag about the amount of vert I crushed over the weekend. My dog doesn’t give a shit how steep the terrain is.
Non telemarkers don’t seem to get it IMO. Their methods of sliding on snow get more fun with steeper terrain, and they can’t fathom considering low angle terrain worthwhile. Plus they’re judgemental as fuck sometimes about not having an avy stick up your a** when you’re on 20 degree slopes. If I want to be uncomfortable, I go to the resort.
Like the channel keep it up!

You get it man. Spread the word! Some non telemarkets get and some telemarkers don’t, but you clearly do. It’s like winter hiking with a more fun return home. When I rip skins my dog Doug flips out!!!

I’m older. Retired. Not much cash but time. Want to ski the Tetons? Ski into Old Faithful? Looking for experienced people. I also mountain bike. I got a trailer for camping on bike. Own a sled for gear for ski trekking. We can also ski backpack and cycle Colorado and New Mexico. I have property in southern Colorado. I live in NM. Was ski patrol. Ski bum. Trail pounder.

Interesting and ambitious. By sled do you mean snowmobile?

@@amerotrashtelemarketer no I have a rescue toboggan. I made ridged metal horns for control and a chain break for ice and speed control. It will haul large human weight down anything I can ski. Also nice for hauling gear. I think it’s great having a sled because I have worked often with them. I will lock it to a tree if I ski days in an area so if someone is injured easy enough to remove them. I also have enough experience to leave it behind when stupid. It’s black so melting snow and drying stuff is nice.
