I wish these Panicle Hydrangeas were more readily available here down under in Australia.
You can get them but you really have to search at specialty nurseries.
I wish they were more mainstream as they would be more suitable for our hot summers.
    Thanks for this informative video.

Hi, I have a question regarding these hydrangeas. It's my first year growing them, but they don't seem to sit well as cut flowers. How do you keep them alive after they have been cut? Mines just don't seem to last no more than 3 days after they have been cut. It's either I'm not using the appropriate flower food or there must be a hidden pesticides that it's eating them up. Any tips would be appreciated very much thank you! 💕

You don't say how old your Hydrangea plant is, but I have found that they seem to get stronger as they get older after a few years. I always say with perennials (or shrubs), the first year they weep, the second year they creep, and the third year they leap. So, basically, new plants need a few years to get established. I cut flowers off a fairly new Hydrangea, and they did not last nearly as long as those that I've had for years. So, I would be patient and see if they get stronger and the blooms get bigger and last longer after a few more years. Varieties can make a difference too. I don't think pesticides would be an issue here, and I just use plain water (not water that has gone through a water softener) or a floral preserve when I pick a bouquet to enjoy. Good luck - I love to hear from viewers!

Hi great video thank you. I love in mid England your zone 7a I believe. Our winters get down to -3 at their worst. My last frost date is beginning of May. Would you still recommend I prune when you do please? All the other care instructions are the same I guess. Kind Regards
    Natalie 😁

I would think since your last frost date is similar to ours, that the pruning recommendations should work too. Since I have not been lucky enough to visit England yet, it might be good to contact one of your local garden centers and ask them too as they know your conditions better than I do. Thanks so much for watching Prairie Yard & Garden!!! Mary

Hi. Prune your hydrangea after the last frost date

I would recommend after your last frost date for pruning to make sure the exposed stems are not damaged by frost. Follow me. I have lots of hydrangeas tips to share 😊

12 hours of direct sunlight too much “full sun” for the panicle varieties?

Your trademark named of Strawberry Sundae, Little Lime, etc aren't cultivar names, so you need to NOT have those ' ' around them. So embarrassing that you can't present that correctly, particularly if you are PBS station!

Very misleading video - at 7:52 you show limilight prime when talking about another variety. Thats the third time you do that in the video. Very dishonest to do that.
