  • In this video I sculpt the snooty mushroom lady and show you how to make easy fuzzy ferns which always look great in fairy gardens. This video shows more of the facial sculpt but I do cover a little bit of the painting process. I have another magical mushroom video if you are interested in seeing how I make the twirly mushrooms. Mushrooms are great for beginners learning how to make faces because you do not have to be perfect and that makes it easier to learn. I like to exaggerate noses and other features, so have fun and create beautiful imperfections. I have been using a lot of Cosclay in my sculpts but Polymer clay was how I began and it works just as well. I am just not a really careful person when I start to paint and have been unlucky with pieces breaking off and Cosclay makes that less likely.

You’ve inspired me to create a mushroom person. May I sell it with credit to your channel?

Wow! I will try making these. Try try and try again. You make it look easy however I'm under no illusions that it is anything but. They are so incredibly detailed and full of character. Do you draw your designs first? So talented and thank you again for sharing. Love watching your tutorials.

Glad you liked it. I don't usually sketch, I wing it haha. I usually have an idea in mind and just go for it.

These are wonderful. I have some questions. You are baking these sculptures and then under painting them with black acrylic, and then painting them with the final acrylic colors? Are you baking the wood stands also?

Thank you ❤️ and yes I only use acrylic paint for all coats. I do on occasion bake with the wood stands but never go above the 275.

What gauge wire do you use for when you add curlicues and such?
