  • Changangkha Lhakang is a very popular Buddhist temple in Bhutan. It is also one of the oldest temples in Bhutan. Located in the capital city Thimphu, you can get a beautiful overview of the Thimphu Valley from the temple. This place is a must-visit for most locals, especially those who are born in Thimphu. Bhutanese often pay a visit to make offerings and seek blessings from the local protective deity.
Just like Chimi Lhakhang in Punakha, Changangkha Lhakhang is one of the name-giving temples in Bhutan. Parents often bring their newborns and the resident astrologer will give an appropriate name based on the child's date of birth, time of birth and astrology.
The temple inner sanctum has a beautiful 11-headed statue of Lord Avalokiteswara.
