I like the cardboard ramp man, that's an excellent idea. I was under the impression you had to make that from wood! With cardboard it's much easier and you could even make multiple ramps. It's brilliant! Thanks.
FYI, I should have cut out a curved ram. Next time!
@@customtoyrevolution Right? Was thinking the same thing. And cardboard is already soft, so it's easy to bend it into a curve. As opposed to wood I mean. You could even make a 90° slope for high jumps :) Although your car may not like that. Hitting that at 60kmh probably sends that 5 meters upwards.

It’s a great lil rc car for the price.
All it needs is a 3S batt (as mentioned here, the OVONIC brand,) and it’ll max out at 42mph; if you can keep it on all four haha.
Without any mods, at all.
It could possibly go a bit faster; with proper lubrication where it can help, weight reduction, smoother road surface, and FULLY charged battery; to list a few.
None of which applied to my test run, on my beat up used and abused Hyper Up.
To track speed I used MEILAN mini GPS.
My rear shocks are shut too (decompressed for what ever reason; out of the box.) I never bothered to look into it, yet.
Got a beefier custom spoiler (the flimsy original one broke off on the first flip.)
And I got extra front and rear lights (custom fit,) after market fan (the original plastic one broke; I guess my aftermarket lights cables got in contact with the fan blades at some point during rough driving. I didn’t have them tightly secured 🤦🏻♂️.)
Stocks remote control; works just fine, no issues with steering (if you know what you’re doing, that is.) And distance is plenty; any further, you can’t even see the car to be fully in control.
Now, all that being said, the longevity of such speeds on that battery is unknown!
I’m pretty sure the wear and tear on the gears and all that is at great levels.
Battery life is “enough” to enjoy it for a lil while (but it normally comes with two 😁)
ESC does get pretty hot, after few runs. Motor does too, even with a fan, but not as bad.
Just bring a can of compressed air duster, and you can cool it all off in no time, when ever you feel the need for it.
Or invest into the portable electric air duster/vacuum (if you got the money.) It’ll make your rc hobby life easier; for cooling, and cleaning your rc products (just a suggestion.)
Yes, the rear wing is the only weak spot. You shouldn't need to worry about ESC and motor temp (I tested, they were below thermal limit) unless something else was causing extra resistance.
As for battery, I had one failed on me after only a few runs. Also Ovonic is not as good as they used to be, I experienced imbalance cells brand new!

I was just wondering how the 2200mah 3s battery is secured in your truck as the maximum for the battery clip appears to be 21mm for the arm to close and the battery featured in the video is approx 26mm?
It doesn't fit. I just have it taped on for testing. I think I mentioned, hmm! maybe on another hyper go video. This one www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08R6V9FGW fit in the compartment, but need to remove the clip and secure it by double side tape or something. There are some small capacity Lipo that will fit, but I don't want to get 800mAh pack.
I got the 25c 3s 2200mah battery and I took the clip off the rc car and modified the car so i can add Velcro straps
Two zip ties will hold it nicely in place.
Remove the clip and insert a small zip tie into the holes for the clip, creating a small loop. Then use bigger size zip tie to hold any size batt (that fit’s in that spot, length wise,) by running it through that loop and the one of the three holes (center one preferably) across on the body frame.
I’m even able to slip my 3S out and replace it with a spare (same size,) without cutting the zip tie.

@@F.B.l I like velcro better too, but depending on where you reside, the heat can get it to unstick, after a lil while. Especially if you switch the batteries often, by constantly pulling on it (I used a heavy duty one.)
Driving through water will also cause the velcro adhesive to fail, sooner than later, considering it’s not attached to the flat bottom surface (honeycomb texture.)
So, if it’s cheaper to replace the velcro (when it gets loose on the car end) than a zip tie, then go for it.
But if you’re running same batteries size the entire time, and never have to worry about replacing a velcro, and leaving that sticky adhesive underneath it when it melts from heat, I’d just use a zip tie instead.
It looks clean, holds tide (rain or shine,) and you can still slip the battery out to switch or charge.
It’ll last you forever.

Review I just ordered this same model yesterday.. I’m ordering a 3s battery but most company’s won’t ship to hawaii and 1 of them is the ovanic brand . I found another 3s in these measurements (mm): 24.5 x 35 x 101 (Height x Width x Length) will this fit ?

I have a 144001, I love him , but he gives me to much headaches, do you think this is a good swap? I mean I want to pass a day playing without having to repair the thing in the car.... And since I got the willitoy I already changed so many parts and something always go wrong...
This or the Hosim brand is the only budget RC that come back in one piece for me too. Do need to make sure to purchase one with metal drivetrain if you plan on running 3S.

some vendors call it v2 but it's just a brushless version same as this one. No improvement whatsoever. Brands like Hosim and Bezgar are the same
Just fully rebuilt the shocks in mine. The oil that comes in them is similar to mineral oil... i went with a 30-35 weight, and it's about 80% better at high-speed stability and handling. I'm also gonna re grease diffs with white lithium grease for even more speed
Yes, I need to change the shock oil for the harsh landing. I got it up to 44mph and it was very stable even at stock settings.
Do you need clean the stock diffs grease first? or just apply the white lithium grease?

Just got one of these and thought it was fast with my 3s battery. Until I realized it is CRAZY fast once you set it to 3s mode. Thing is so fast you can pop wheelies while already going 30 mph

@@customtoyrevolution40mph you didn't press the ESC 5 times did you to unlock full power. There's 70%, 100% then off its head with the 5 beeps. Does 49 when you do that.
By 3s mode you meant the 5 presses of ESC yeah? What 3s battery fits can you link please.
@POLITICALYCORRECTify the 2200 mah 3s batteries I got are long. I custom built a piece inside my car with a few drywall screws and a hinge to hold them in place.

What 2200Mah 3S Lipo did you fit in the battery bay? The Ovonic 2200mah 35c 11.1v fits ok in the bay unmodified?
Not happening, I've tried all sizes and didn't like any of them. You have to get down to 1000mAh or 800mAh pack, but it will be moving about in the compartment. I ended up making my own czcams.com/video/jtuGAh3sDU8/video.html. Try the stock 3S Lipo if within budget.
@islrubsca Just secure it with couple of zip ties, and it’ll be fine. Only thing will be missing is the original clip (which you don’t need.)

Ovonic 3s Lipo short pack but can't recommend it. I got unbalance discharged cells.

I took this car apart and it seems like there is no way to remove the pinion gear on the rear end of the drive shaft. Have you found a way to remove it? There is a bearing between the spur gear and that pinion gear and I would like to be able to replace it with a sealed bearing.
the pinion gear you mention is likely what I called the bevel gear. It is simply held down by a screw. I've no problem removing it.
@@customtoyrevolution hmmm, is the screw on the back side of the bevel gear? Did you have to run a screwdriver through the center shaft drive cup to access it?
Hope we are talking about the same thing. Yes, you can see and access the Philips screw from the end where you insert the center hex drive shaft. They didn't use Loctite, it's easy to remove.

What can you connect to the top part of the esc ? If it’s a port for extra light where can I get one at I had install a fan to the esc and plugged it up to the extra port on the receiver and it works so now I’m running with two fans
The extra port output 5V, you can plug anything in that require 4 to 6V

2pin JST plug, but you don't have any extra since you added an extra fan
@@customtoyrevolution the extra fan is plug in to the receiver not on the esc where the indicator light is at what can get plugged into that port on the esc it’s a plus and negative sign by the light indicator

Hi i have a question how do u charge the hyper go h16bm i already have a charger called the RDX1min but the cable that comes with the car does not work with the charger, i have not been able to use the car for about 2 months now.
You need a female XT60 to Dean male adapter/cable, and a balance lead extension cable/board

It's too punchy for me on 3S, lol. I tested, neither Hobbywing nor Surpass Hobby works. Anyone else please chime in.

I ordered a Hobbywing quicrun 60a with the card for it. Along with a servo and tyres. New to the hobby and all this are a first for me but I can feel the car could do with some smoothness and precision. It already have a lot of power, I already changed the oil in the suspension, massive improvement
@@DiegoChan-Islander thats exactly what i ended up doing, i think mine was the 16bl30 though. On max punch it made a massive improvement in throttle response, there was still a tiny bit of deadzone in the trigger but i think that is either in the TX/RX or motor. It was much much more drivable though. Ended up trading my buddy the car but he still has it and has only broken a shock tower so far (like a 4$ part). Definitely a tough mini basher once you swap that ESC out 🙂👍

Internals from 16210 compatible with H16BM? Haven’t found too many parts referencing H16BM in my searches.

These shits still weak and fuck up fast 🤦🏾♂️ had my H16BM for almost 3 weeks now never hit it into nothing and now it just stops running idk if it’s the motor or the metal long pice in the middle of the car
Just get a replacement, maybe you got a lemon. I bought 8 of these or something similar! The worst for me were the shocks failed

I'm not impressed, alignment ,it spins out on take off. Also, don't believe there aren't too many part replacement options or upgrades.
I have no alignment and spin out issues. Parts are available on Amazon, eBay, Aliexpress from multiple vendors, must have for me to recommend. What upgrades are you looking for? The only upgrade I could recommend is motor, and maybe shimming the steering.
