    In this video we show you how to remove and install Axl/trailing arm bushing we use the Sealey VSE4784 there is the right tool for the job work Smarter not harder
    Trailing-arm designs in live axle setups often use just two or three links and a Panhard rod to locate the wheel laterally. A trailing arm design can also be used in an independent suspension arrangement. Each wheel hub is located only by a large, roughly triangular arm that pivots at one point, ahead of the wheel. Seen from the side, this arm is roughly parallel to the ground, with the angle changing based on road irregularities. A twist-beam rear suspension is very similar except that the arms are connected by a beam, used to locate the wheels and which twists and has an anti-roll effect.
    Some aircraft also use trailing arms in their landing gear, with oleo struts for shock absorption. A trailing arm landing gear results in smoother landings and a better ride when taxiing compared to other types of landing gear
    In automotive suspension, a control arm, also known as an A-arm, is a hinged suspension link between the chassis and the suspension upright or hub that carries the wheel. The inboard (chassis) end of a control arm is attached by a single pivot, usually a rubber bushing.

    You put paint marks on for alignment but, there is a "C" shaped cut out on the trailing arm and a corresponding "C" shaped bulge just inside the outer edge of the bush. You simply align them. That is the proper way to do it. As the bush you were changing was broken, the flat metal you used for your marks may not have still been in the correct place. Also, the bush you are changing may have been changed already. If it was not fitted properly you would be making the same error that leads to premature failure. Good video apart from that.

      Hi mate it was very awkward I had to use big threaded bars with old bearings put them together hammers all the usual stuff it was not easy and I wouldn't really advise you doing it you can do more damage doing it this way the proper tool is the key I realise if you can't afford it that's a problem but also spending the money on buying the parts and damaging them or so will cost you money in the long run

    • @bodgitandleggitgarage
      @bodgitandleggitgarage  Před 5 lety +1
